Soko was hangin out at Quest the whole time I was trainin yesterday, Dan left for Ireland couple days ago I think, if not last week, good to see Soko didnt go with him, I was worried that he would go to help corner Dan, but Soko needs to chill and stay focused here as his fight is comin up quick.

This is a great match up. To me this is UFC ppv co-main event worthy! THis is going to be a very entertaining bout. I like Babalu by submission, although Soko has a great chance of Tko’ing Babalu. Babalu is one of my favorites so I will be rooting for him

This is one of the few fights on this Affliction card that I’m interested in.
However, I have to disagree with you John: this would NOT be UFC co-main event worthy. Its good right where its at: a solid fight on the main card.

this is better than diego sanchez/joe stevenson, and that is a main event
by brendan on Jan 13, 2009 10:11 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
sanchez/stevenson is the main on a FREE event. big difference. i think if babalu cant take it into the 2nd or 3rd, it’s his fight to win.

sanchez/stevenson should be on the undercard of a fight night, were either going to see sanchez gas out from the weight cut and get laid on for three rounds or were going to see how overrated joe stevenson is when he gets his third loss in four tries and goes to fight in some canadian promotion

if sanchez/stevenson should be on the undercard of an ufn, what would be the main, lesnar/mir? gsp./a.silva? let me know when your’e done trolling.

I dont get the logic of brendan constantly comparing this card to UFC 95, a free card that is happening next month. Oh, I know why, because his BS argument wouldnt hold up to the 3 other events (as well as the 95) that Zuffa is holding this month. Maybe the UFC should only start holding events every six months that have like 2, maybe 3 good match-ups. Are there any past UFC events you would like to compare the Affliction card to as well?

Snynster: I know that in reality its not co-main event worthy of a UFC ppv….BUt I am a big fan of both fighters so for me, I wouldnt complain if it were a co main event…..BUt I dont expect others to feel the same

Way to back up what you say brendan. I hope you dont plan a future in law or anything.

I think Sanchez/Stevenson is a better fight than this. I don’t even mind that its a main event. 95 is a sick card, and I think its better than Affliction 2. IMO, theres only 3 or 4 decent fights on this card.
And nice to jump on 96 brenden. Its not even fully completed.

If soko can do it in the first round and a half maybe, i really hope he comes in ready to go the distance or at least keep the pace high. Agree with John, If babalu gets him on his back i can see him getting a sub but if it stays on the feet soko has a good shot to get a tko/ko

I’ll take Babalu over the biggest dissappointment of 07/08 via submission. Although I really dont like Bobby Southworth, Babalu’s win over Southworth wasn’t “great” like Loretta Hunt claims.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY THEY LET LORETTA HUNT TALK ABOUT MMA? SHe said Babalu will eat you up on the ground like 5 times and is just so annoying.
They all talked about Soko’s Judo but he hasn’t used it in forever. Bah! Loretta Hunt isn’t even doable.
Soko wins by tko in the first round otherwise Babalu will subbed because he will gas.

My issue with Loretta is the relentlessly blind Couture Nuthuggery. She finds a way to talk about him in any and all situations. Otherwise she’s ok.

i hate the way these affliction guys break down the fights.
“Babalu is actually really good ground guy. A very aggressive ground guy. And, uh, eats guys up on the ground.” WTF?

Seriously – I agree JB. The girl was retarded.

Yeah, like Sokoudjou is goin go to try to hip toss a BJJ guy that good after fighting Machida.
Neither he nor Nakamura, or Cane, clinched up and went for the takedown.

WAR BABALU!!!Show this Sokodjou that he’s just a fluke!
by Syd[a.k.a. "The Negation"] on Jan 13, 2009 10:41 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Soko is not a fluke. He’s just 26. He’s an up-and-coming fighter, nothing more, nothing less. He’s beaten some good fighters, and lost to some good fighters. He’s inconsistent, but I think he’ll only get better.
by Pat on Jan 14, 2009 3:38 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Why is it sokoudjou never used his judo once in the ufc???
by Irish on Jan 14, 2009 3:07 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
No fighter gave him a chance to use it. They were not just going to stand there and give him the opportunity, and he was not able to create one for himself.
by Ade on Jan 14, 2009 4:59 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
He used it once to trip Machida.
