Vitor has always been one of my favorite fighters. Second fav only to Penn. I am very excited for his match. Its been a while since Vitor has shown heart, I hope this time around he fights like we all know he can. He looked awesome against Martin and now that he’s with Extreme Couture he may very well be on his way.

WAR VITOR!

lol~b.w/

i feel the same way~ but only cause lindland is fighting.

the law gets no respect from me. and lindland is a boring fighter.

but vitor on the otherhand?

i think we should be talking about him more often these days~

vitor is looking like his old self these days.

he is in great fighting shape dropping to mw.

it seems like he is mentally prepared now that he is training with randy.

imo~ randy is the fighter that is responsible for vitors downfall.

vitor became very mentally weak after the butt~whoopins randy put on him.

i am really interested to see how vitor handles himself in 2009’

imo~ i feel it will all be good~ and the old vitor will emerge.

lindland is a boring fighter~ but vitor will make this entertaining!

i see vitor winning via tko 1st round.

say word.

Spoken truth right there stinky. I didn’t understand what the hell linland was talking about with all the “make him quit” and “hurt him” bs. He’s gonna try to LnP to death. Simple. I wanna see an ending like trigg-lawler. KO followed by another KO.

vitor lost his passion for fighting after his sister was kidnapped and murdered. think about it, if u were a high level professional fighter and then some men took ur sis and there was nothing u could do about it, how would that make u feel. everybody respond differently, but for me it’d be hard to focus on fighting an opponent in a sporting match when all i could probably think about would be catching and KILLING the S.O.B.‘s that did that to my sister. he was in his early 20’s at the time, practically still a kid. he’s 30 now and with all he’s went through he is now a grown man!

Am I the only one that likes Lindland? I personally think he will kill Vitor. I think Vitor in his prime would have been a good one for Linland, but now? I think Linland takes this to the ground and wins easily there. They guy gave Rampage all he could handle, as well as Fedor for a while there, he is good, no denying that.

by The Anomaly on Jan 11, 2009 4:49 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

deuce 4, that was one of the many problems that plagued him. His split with Carlson Gracie, the hate he got from all other jealous ass gracies, hollywood agents, his managers robbing him, his own arrogance as a youth, the list goes on. Amongst all this he still tried to stand up like a man everytime sometimes showing up other times not. Very admirable.

Anomaly- yes you are the only one though i believe his style is very important for the development and growth of MMA techniques.

As much as I respect Lindland’s credentials he comes across as abrasive to me. And what’s with not showering for days before a fight? NASTINESS!!!

I still remember watching Vitor briefly terrorize the UFC. I think it was the Tank Abbot fight where during his entrance he stepped out of his trailer with a nice lil chica, brushed her aside, strode to the cage and demolished Tank without breaking a sweat. Classic!

Vitor by KO.

I got to meet Lindland at a seminat at ATT, and while I would never claim to know him, I will say that he was a really nice guy. He may come off as abrasive for a fight, but he seemed really cool and down to earth when I talked to him.

As for the fight, I think what Vitor said is pretty much on point, Lindland will want to take him down, and Vitor will try to keep it standing.

Nice video. Gonna be a sweet fight. The production of this video is much improved since Afflictions promo videos for banned. Showtime and Golden boy are producing the show this time so production will be much improved also. Affliction is heading into the right direction and nice to see. As long as they are putting on sweet fights it’s nice to have them around. It’s also nice to see competition for the UFC. FEDOR number one pound for pound and will prove it again on the 24th.

Vitor rocks, hopefully after he wins, the UFC will bring him back, Couture may help with that

Matt the laws not even a top ten.

by chronic habits on Jan 10, 2009 4:32 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I haven’t figured out which of Lindland’s wins makes him “one the best middle-weights in the world”. Was it against Horn or Newton or Baroni or Lutter? I know it was his win against Doerkson. I mean really is there a top ten in the world right now that he has beaten?

by sycboi on Jan 10, 2009 4:34 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

does anyone actually want to see lindland fight????

by sin on Jan 10, 2009 4:56 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

yes!

yes i do want to see lindland fight.

he is a top name for vitor to beat~ to get back in the mix of things.

“and we’re gonna have a FIGHT!”
gotta love the fire in vitor. he looked tentative early on but great in the second round against martin. can’t wait to see him send lindland back to the zoo where he belongs.

by ActionJackson on Jan 10, 2009 5:49 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I believe if Vitor does not KO lindland in the first round Lindland will dump him on his head and either sub him or TKO him, Vitor is a pussy and the longer fights go the faster his heart leaves him.

by Spyder on Jan 10, 2009 6:02 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

wow, you have no room to call any fighter a pussy, let alone vitor. what the fuck have you done?

by ActionJackson on Jan 10, 2009 6:58 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Ive watched him from the begining of his career. When Tito called him a mental midget he was spot on with that call. Back in the day when Vitor would come across the ring and knock your head off was one thing but that did not last long. Once guys figured him out he was done, he has no heart just like Andre Arlovski.

by Spyder on Jan 11, 2009 10:33 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

leave it to tito to call someone who’s suffering from the kidnapping and murder of his sister a mental midget. plus, tito won by split decision and i personally think vitor won. either way it was VERY close. andrei looked very timid against sylvia the third time and against werdum. his next three fights were t(ko)s. and he knocked out pao de pano. while sitting. he lost his belt because he got caught while brawling. why would he keep the same style if he could lose doing it? if you equate brawling to heart, you have no respect for martial arts and should just keep your unathletic ass in front of the computer screen watching street fights on youtube.

by ActionJackson on Jan 11, 2009 12:44 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Dont forget Vitor has a ground game he rarely uses. Trained with the gracies

by elstiko on Jan 10, 2009 7:03 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

ill admit vitor has pissed me off in the past but he is far from a pussy

by Nokimono on Jan 10, 2009 9:20 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Lindland bores me, and if it werent for Belfort I wouldnt be interested in this match at all. Fingers crossed for a B-eautiful KO

by subwayy2sallyy on Jan 10, 2009 7:01 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

And where the fuck did they get this Top 3 garbage??? He isn’t even top 15

by subwayy2sallyy on Jan 10, 2009 7:05 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

VITOR is the most overrated fighter of all time…Lindland might be the most underrated fighter of all time..he`s a natural 185 pounder that is fighting out of is weight class because he cant find an comp..and he isnt in the UFC

He was robbed of a win over Rampage many think…and he is gonna maul Vitor.

by texen_1 on Jan 10, 2009 9:58 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

This fight is the best fight on the card. Lindland is a warrior, 185 pounds and his only 2 losses sinsce 05 have been to 230pound Fedor and a young 205+ Rampage. I would love to see him in the UFC a possible match vs Silva?! But as far as this fight goes even though Belfort has a weight advantage I don’t see Lindland letting this fight be a stand up but then again Belfort is getting trained by one of the best fighters Couture. Couture will have a good game plan for Belfort vs. Lindland so it will be interesting.

by Beaver on Jan 11, 2009 2:29 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I hope Lindland takes a shower before stepping into the ring.
I’m actually surprized Belfort is training at Randy’s!
I love those guys! Warr Vitor !!!!!!!!!

by pamirec on Jan 11, 2009 3:06 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

The law was broken with the first punch. I’ve never seen anyone so out of it. Vitor is a powerhouse .. he proved it when he gunned the axe murderer all those years ago.. let there be no doubt he still has was it takes
