For some reason I dont see Kamg rolling through Belcher like peole think he will. Kang hasnt been fighting the best competition as of late, aside from Mousasi.

I don’t either! Belcher has legs like tree trunks, if he uses them for distance and to set up other stuff he’ll be ok!
On another note mexi, I’ve been watching these John lajoi song videos all morning thanks to you! They are f*cking hilarious, thanks buddy!

Jon Lajoie is f’n hilarious, I stumbled across him on funny or die about a year and a half or so ago with the everyday normal guy song and was instantly hooked, his songs are great….. sunday afternoon, show me your genitals and High as f*ck are really funny too….

Lyoto hasn’t beaten anyone? He KO’d Rich Franklin former middle weight champ, and beat BJ Penn the current lightweight champ and former welter weight champ, he beat Tito former lightheavyweight champ, he beat Veron White former welter weight champ and he beat Stephan Bonnar and he is undefeated.
WTF he hasn’t beaten anyone. This guy is a true martial artist, very well rounded and with a win over Thiago Silva deserves a shot at Rashad. Why not have Rampage fight Rus should he beat Hendo. Rua has a win over page.
UFC 93 is going to flop because it is between 92 and 94 the two best card ever.

Ok, so Kang and Machida are the same person?

Sorry to get off topic, but I had a funny encounter last night with a hockey star, ovechkin! I was at a bar in Washington, and Ovechkin was there but nobody knew it was him. I walked up to him, Im like “what up, you are ovechkin”, and he was like “No”. I was like “Yes u r, you are Ovechkin”….he was like “No I am not!” I was like, doesnt really matter cause Ovechkin sucks at F’in HOckey and I walked away. Keep in mind I was HAMMERED last night!
about an hour later, these 2 big ass Russians walked up to me and in their Andre Arlovski accent, they said “What did you say about Ovechkin”…..I was like I just tried to say what up, and he wanted to pretend that he wasnt who I knew he was…so I tried to get him to admit it, so I insulted him….they were like “Okay no problem”, then Ovechkin came up and I literally had like 4 vodkas with him and chit chatted for about 45 minutes.
Very Kool Dude! Very down to Earth, and I was shocked that no one on the Washington Dc bar knew who he was

Cool, I didn’t know you were in DC John. I lived in Fairfax County for years. Hung out in DC like nobodies business. No wonder you make so much sense when you post LOL
by Machine on Jan 10, 2009 3:09 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
what part of fairfax county did you live in, i just moved from there after 10 years. Went to hayfield high if you know where that is or heard of it
by ehoglund on Jan 10, 2009 3:21 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Hayfield I’m not familiar with. What town? Mclean, TC Williams, South Lakes, Herndon Hornets, Langley, Vienna ummm what was their High School called again? It’s been a while since the High School thing so I know I’m leaving out quite a few but those are some of the majors in the area. Great place to live and a top 10 school system in the country or was back in the 80’s – 90’s.

In alexandria, right by springfield mall or the mixing bowl. It is in the same district as TC, and West Springfield and Lake Braddock, i grad in 03 so its been a while for me too. I love it in that area. My ma was stationed at the Pentagon.

I graduated in ‘91 so it’s been even longer for me LOL. Thanks for making me feel old j/k. I lived in Reston and went to South Lakes. I’m a New Yorker now though. Where’d you end up?
by Machine on Jan 10, 2009 4:04 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
You would be surprised at what Reston looks like now, its very built up. I live in Tucson AZ now but my parents still there i am here going to school

I havent been back in years and even then it was much much different from what I remembered. I can only imagine how much further it’s come since then. Lotta great memories. Some people from the area I came up with relocated to AZ. A few moved back but a couple are still lingering there. I forget what city but I hear AZ is a pretty nice spot. I’ve only passed through once on a road trip so dont know much else. Anyways, good to meet someone else from the DC Metro area. Good stuff.

Machida has been BJ Penn… clap clap, a difference of 50 pounds in their fighting weight.
Franklin, give him that one
Bonnar, wow
Vernon White, wow.
Tito, impressive as well.

Kang is one of my favorite fighters. Since I started following his career which was a little after the PRIDE welterweight Tournament, I’ve always rooted for him win or lose. What most impressed me about him is early in his career after losing 2 in a row he went on to win 21 out of 23 fights. The other 2 were a no constest and a draw. Those wins included Andrei Seminov, Akihiro Gono, Amar Suloev, Ninja Rua and Mark Weir. Not Top 10 guys but they’re no cans and they all have the tools to beat anyone on any given day. The Ninja, Suloev and Gono wins came during the PRIDE Tournament. During his Gono fight (earlier same night) he tore his biceps but chose to fight Kazuo Misaki in the finals anyway (super impressive). Unfortunately, despite a gutsy performance the torn biceps were too much and he dropped the decision to Misaki. His girlfriend committed suicide around that time (not sure before or after the tournament) and he managed to recover from that. He’s got a ton of heart. THe recent Akiyama loss and the Mousasi loss are respectable L’s in my opinion and doesnt tarnish him in any way. I personally think Kang was winning the Akiyama fight till he got cracked and the Mousasi loss was a lack of focus on his part (just my opinion). He’s got some holes in his game but overall he’s a top 10 fighter in my eyes.
Sorry about the long post but I know a lot of casual fans arent familiar with him so I wanted to help get them introduced. As long as the real Denis Kang shows up come fight night the Belcher win is in the bag (minus any flukes). Belcher shined against Kalib Starnes and I’ll admit to being impressed but he’s performed nowhere near that since then. I tend to think it was a testament to how wack Kalib is, not how good Belcher is. Point blank, Kang’s skillset and KO power are levels above Belchers. No way Belcher can bridge that gap in just one training camp. THe gap is too large between them. Am I biased? You bet! But I’m honestly trying to be objective here. If a fighter I like is outmatched I’ll be the 1st to admit it but thats not the case here.

Dont ever apologize for such an insightful post!
I have also been a fan of his for a while now and have awaited his UFC debut with much anticipation. Belcher is a tough scrappy dude, and a good test for Kang’s Octagon debut.
I dont expect Kang to lose this fight. HOpefully he makes a highlight out of Blelcher

John, i read an article yesterday stating that the Huerta vs King fight has never been brought up to him and that it was just a rumor, so who knows. I would be a good fight though. Sorry for lying hahaha
I think kang fight i really hope to see a stand up war.
In other news, Randy got bone spurs removed from his elbow so it will put off the Nog fight. But will prolly happen this summer or so. Bader is fighting at UFN 18 but dont know the opponent.

It would be very good for the UFC, and the health of the UFC’s MW division, if Kang dusts Belcher in very impressive fashion.

shit i had a dream that seemed so real i dreamt that rich franklin will win a razor thin decision. majority to be exact. i hope that doesnt happen, but only one week away to find out. WAR HENDO

Kang, and Belcher, will be fight of the night, it is the dark horse obviously because of Lytle and Davis, but these guys are going to go to war, and it is gonna be a slugg fest. I love Muay Thi
Im getting chills

Kang is probably the second best Canadian fighter out there period so I am stoked he is in the UFC. Belcher should change his nickname to Alan “the sacrificial lamb” Belcher.
After this, Belcher should fight Cote so he can say he’s fought all of the Canadians in the MW division.

Dana White:
“Denis Kang was supposed to be on Season 1 of The Ultimate Fighter but he ended up getting a deal over in Korea. I wouldn’t call him one of the major superstars in MMA or one of the major superstars from Pride.”
by hankd on Jan 10, 2009 11:51 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
its true alot of hardcore fans like him but he doesnt have huge appeal that makes him a star like liddel in usa or wandy in japan
by Jared on Jan 10, 2009 12:40 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
he’s huge in korea though. that’s the reason he didn’t come to the UFC at first was to build up his fan base over there. MMA in korea was all about him, fedor and crocop..hahaha glad to finally see him in the UFC though, been waiting for this for a while. hope that he can burst into the scene with some impressive wins now.

Can’t wait to see Kang in the UFC. If he lives up to the hype he will be great at MW. Everyone says that the MW division is stacked, but the fights just haven’t been doing it for me as of late. I hope Kang lights it up.

There is no hype with Kang, he is one of the top 185’ers out there, hope he comes in with a bang against belcher. He will not dissapoint. Glad Dana finally got him to the UFC

That’s what I mean by hype. I’ve heard the he was great in a couple of other promotions, but I don’t know much else about him. Like I said, if he is a good as everyone says he is it’s going to be great for the UFC MW division.
by SilasM on Jan 10, 2009 5:11 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Kang is truly a good fighter! I love to watch him fight! But, I don’t think he’s gonna steam roll over Belcher by any means! Although I like Kang, I am hoping Belcher wins. I think these two are pretty evenly matched.

I was in Seoul, Korea in 2007 and got to see Denis fight Choi in the Spirit MC Championship. This is the fight that he won with a broken hand. We couldn’t tell his hand was broken during the fight, but he fought strong – and is one tough dude. His last four fights have been loss, loss, win, win – so he’s on a two fight win streak, but last win was against Marin Eastman, so we’ll see.
I really like Denis and will be rooting for him!! I wish him the best of luck and hope he can adjust quickly in the UFC. If he can get it together and stay healty, he’ll be a real force to be reckoned with.
KANG, KANG, KANG, KANG!!!!!!!
