And Karo does? Stun Gun barely got by Matt Brown. Hopefully, he knocks Karo out quickly, but I have a feeling we may be in for a painful 15 minutes. I’d rather see Fitch wrestle himself than most Karo fights. Diaz-Guida could be exciting though. Guida always brings it and Nate is awfully slick.

I think its funny that everyone keeps thinking Silva is just gonna get run threw by Machida. Silva has finished all his fights in the ufc by ko or tko. Im confused cause Machida has not. Its usually goes to a decision in Machidas fights. Silva finishes fights. He will win this fight

What a stacked card.
Penn vs. Pierre
Machida vs. T. Silva
Bonnar vs. Jones
Diaz vs. Guida
Parisyan vs. Kim
All these fights are so evenly matched. I could honestly say it can go either way for all the fights. WTF Fitch is on the undercard? That has to be something personal with Dana. How do you come from being the main event winning 7 fights str8 in the UFC and being on the under card?

This is going to be a great fight. GSP’s strength, speed, wrestling, and cardio countered by BJ’s flexibility, boxing, Jiu jitsu, and focus. This is gonna be a great fight.
by Kdog on Jan 10, 2009 2:09 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
That’s funny, like Penn has ever had more focus than GSP.That doesn’t say much for BJ when he gets beat by just a strong, fast and well conditioned wrestler.

Good card overall with the dream fight as the main event and interesting co-main event. I don’t mind Fitch being in undercard since I won’t be watching it live anyway…
I have absolutely no idea who will win, BJ or GSP and I have no favorite for this one. GSP is stronger overall but BJ is able to submit him.
I quess GSP via ground and pound, 3rd round

Did anyone else notice that he said that Dana White said this would probably be the biggest fight in the history of the promotion? I thought he said Lesnar/Couture was the biggest fight for the promotion in history?? He needs some new hype tricks.

Seeing how this fight is AFTER that fight it is possible for both to be true. Ken Shamrock used to be one of the best, does that mean he still has to be the best?

Is Dana doing this purposely to f-ck with Fitch because of all that? How can someone as childish and unprofessional as him run an organization?? What a douche.

That and the fact that no one really likes Fitch. Sure we do but we see his brilliance. Casual fans(people who watch UFC only and don’t spend their whole lives on MMA sites) only have seen a few of his fights and most of the time it is a LNP clinic. This isn’t the first time in recent history that Fitch is on the under card.

(I POSTED THIS IN THE JOE LAUZON THREAD ORIGINALY, ENJOY!)
I want Joe to win and get back on track, this is his first fight since the Florian fight right? A win over Hermes is a nice thing to have on your resume as a LTWT (ex WEC Champion). But i know i wont be seeing Lauzon/Penn most likely so for the sake of good fights and Hermes getting 2 in a row, maybe 3 or 4 in a row over Top Tenners leads to another Title shot by 2011 against BJ Penn, thats a fight id like to see, Penn still wins it, but its better than some of the other LTWT options the UFC has to offer. I hope he keeps both belts and if he keeps winning i hope Penns schedule will look something like this;
Penn/Pulver (155)….W
Penn/Stevenson (155).W
Penn/Sherk (155)…..W
Penn/GSP #2 (170)….
Penn/Florian (155)…
Penn/T.Alves (170)…
Penn/GSP #3 (170)…. (GSP will move to MLWT after he loses again)
Penn/Sanchez (155)…
Penn/Kim (170)…….
Penn/Clementi (155)..
Penn/Hughes #3 (170). (As the last guy to beat BJ at this point)
Penn/Griffin (155)…
Penn/Parisyan (170)..
Penn/Koscheck (170)..
Penn/Franca (155)….
Penn/Davis (170)…..
Penn/Pellegrino (155)
Penn/M.Torres (155).. (If Miguel moves up id love to see it!!)(BJ leaves the LTWT division after this fight)
Penn/Sanchez #2 (170) (If the first one was a war then a 2nd at 170 would be even better!) (BJ leaves the WLWT division after this fight)
Penn/GSP #4 (185)…. (BJ makes his MLWT Debut against GSP!)(At MLWT BJ would weigh 174ish, very fast!)
Penn/A.Silva (185)… (A MLWT Title fight for BJ’s 3rd UFC belt and P4P #1 determiner!!)
Penn/Machida (205)… (At LHWT BJ would weigh 182ish, biggest he can be and Win) (BJ would have at this time Won all these fights, and if Machida has the LHWT belt at this point in time then BJ would own 4 out of 5 belts in the UFC!)
I would then think BJ would retire with 4 out of 5 UFC belts and all past losses redeemed but if the right HVWT at the right point in time came along in the UFC (Not Brock or Fedor!!) he would come out of retirement to fight him. A Big Nog type HVWT, that was a bit smaller though, someone he had a real chance against and a real chance at getting all 5 UFC Titles to motivate him. PLUS more history making! And if some “young gun” that was the “talk of the town” came along in any weight class i could see BJ wanting a slice and coming out of retirment for it. Hes crazy enough and good enough to do all these things, but anything can happen in this sport and the key to this future schedule is WINNING ALL OF THESE! IN A ROW!! . . . Unlikely is an understatement! Everyone loses, EVERYONE! But BJ has already gotten that “must have loss or losses” on his resume and obviously the last one changed him, i guess the question is “Will he lose again?” and honestly, as many analysts and fighters including 2 of the best IMO, Joe Rogan/Randy Couture, have said “A motivated BJ Penn is the scariest fighter on the planet” And folks, thats exactly what we’re dealing with!
Thanks for reading this if you did all the way to this point, i put a lot of time into it for you PENN FANS this morning, hope you enjoyed it, and sorry it wasnt about the all important “Joe Lauzon” like you party poopers will complain about but you’ll live. BJ BJ BJ!!!
*And this is only including UFC possible fights, i wish Nick Diaz (155) or (170), Shinya Aoki (155), Jake SHields (170), Gomi “Again?” Takanori (Any weight he wants!), Joachim Hansen (155), Gesias Cavalcante (155), Carlos Condit (170), Eddie Alvarez (155), were all in the UFC for fights with BJ Penn! BJ BJ BJ!!!

Even the second biggest Penn nuthugger isn’t going to buy this bullshit of BJ winning all 5 belts. That is by far the most ludicrous post EVER on the whole internet, not just this site. I always thought you were a bit delusional, but you have removed all doubt. Let me get this straight, as long as BJ doesn’t fight Fedor or Lesnar he will win all his fights, LMAO. When people say anything is possible in MMA, they sure as hell don’t mean BJ can win all 5 belts. You kill me Adam, I’m still laughing my ass off.
by Gord on Jan 10, 2009 10:53 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Due you read what you wanna read tard, i said and very clearly “i hope” and “if he wins” dude, cut and paste where i said “he will do this and will never lose except if he faught those 2” I said he wouldnt bother, and you wanna know how delusional i am, if he did fight them he would beat them. Period. Lets just say 1% of what i wrote is true, GSP could never in his wildest dreams imagine trying to go after the same 1%, he’ll be fighting Hughes and Serra for the 3rd and 4th times real soon and calling them his “biggest comp yet”. Enjoy being a fan of a contender cause thats all he’ll ever be. BJ BJ BJ!!!

“I hope he keeps both belts” What BOTH belt? He only has one belt. You’ve been talking for months now like BJ already owns GSP’s belt.
“someone he had a real chance against and a real chance at getting all 5 UFC Titles”
I suppose you were just “Hoping” that you think he has a REAL chance at getting all FIVE belts".
“Hes crazy enough and good enough to do all these things”
This sounds pretty clear alright, clear that you are a DREAMER Adam. Now I think you are past delusional and down right crazy, because you don’t even know what your saying in your own posts. It’s right in front of you, maybe next time read it first before you call someone a tard so you won’t end up looking like the tard. It doesn’t seem like anyone is reading this topic anymore, so why don’t you ask who else thinks BJ is “good enough to get all five belts” in a newer topic. Maybe someone else will agree with you HAHAHAHAHAHA LMAO.

Never reaching his full potential cause he doesnt have the tools to be the best, You guys think he’ll fight Anderson Silva! Are you kidding me, bet he backs out, or injury or like i said before, not even get the fight cause he just lost to Alves. Wont matter cause he will lose to Penn. AdamG, I love the fact that you’re a dreamer and an un-conditional fan. Like you said, it is INCREDIBLY unlikely that something like that would happen, but a guy can dream, and thats what we do. WHy are the biggest GSP fans on this site also the biggest cynical A-holes(Gord, JV, McArthur, nathan)? Gord, I think you must have been abused as a child. You never have anything good to say about anything. Why do you continually spew this negativity? I have no idea what you look like but I can see the words “little man’s syndrome” written all over you! LMAO…I’m just adding fuel to your fire there compadre. I love your rants.

Rather than personal attacks like me being abused as a child, being a cynical A-hole or having little mans syndrome, why don’t you use LOGIC to back up your opinions? What is POSITIVE about calling people names? Don’t blame me if posts like this leave me with nothing but negative things to say. If I convinced one person to THINK and not bet on BJ and throw their hard earned money down the toilet then I would consider that positive. If you haven’t noticed I usually respond to posts with the same tone as the poster. Your right, you don’t know shit about me and you are dead wrong on all accounts.

And dont even dream of saying that Penn could have turned that fight around if the doctor hadnt stopped it. he was gassed, getting the SH#T kicked out of him, and would have been KO’d or TKO if that round had gone even 30 seconds longer
besides, Penn is part of the 14 wins that the undefeated Machida’s holding right now, you think he’s gonna keep moving up and beat GSP, Machida, Silva?
keep takin that acid or w/e, cuz you’re clearly hallucinating

Both GSP and Penn are great. But A Silva and maybe Fedor on a completely different level. Should be a blood bath when Penn and GSP go at it. Though I love GSP, I think Penn will take this one because I’m curious how GSP will handle getting bloodied up again. Thats almost a certainty that GSP will get bloodied up…….BAD!!!!!

I hate the 10 point must system. BJ did a ton more damage in 3 minutes than GSP did in 12. Wait and see. You think GSP has improved enough to actually put a mark on BJ’s face? GSP’s improvement in his game in the last few years has been for one simple reason. HE IS AFRAID TO GET HIT. How many strikes has he thrown standing up(minus the Fitch fight, especially because Fitch is no striker) since he tapped out from Matt Serra? Probably less than 20. He trains with olympic wrestlers so he can get the fioght to the ground immediately. GSP is scared to get Ko’d, plain and simple. Lets see if GSP can take an in shape, bigger and stronger BJ Penn down. He’d better hope he can, because he wont last 3 rounds with an in-shape BJ on the feet. Its almost time!! BJ

BJ will win. Why?
GSP will gas from too much weight cut.
GSP will try to stand even though in his heart he knows he needs to have a fight strategy similar to Tito Ortiz’s career. Takedown/Elbows from guard.
BJ will not quit and has more fire than GSP.
GSP is great but has no ego. Great fighters have huge egos like Ali! Bruce Lee had a quiet huge ego. Ego doesn’t always mean vocal ego.
BJ is the prodigy, he is a natural, and he now has the dedication and training with his natural skills. GSP is an athlete and an amazing one, but his skill sets are earned, he wasn’t gifted with them.
BJ is at the pinnacle of his career.

I THINK GSP IS THE MODERN DAY TITO WITHOUT THE badboy ATTITUDE!
think about it both rely heavy on take downs both went through some easy fights. gsp couldnt put finch away he beat matt hughs lets face it he is on old man legs and an out of form serra. how exactly can he be regarded as a legend of the sport??
have a look who bj beat and when he beat them!
in my humble opinion bj is the only one who can walk away from this fight and say they are a legend of the sport!
by aussie-rob on Jan 31, 2009 6:57 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
jens pulver, joe stevenson, sean sherk?? thats a legend?? come on man! sherk was penn’s toughest task, and look what gsp did to him.

There are 9 possible ends to this fight
1. BJ by sub
2. BJ by 1st round TKO
3. BJ by 2nd round TKO
4. BJ by 3rd round TKO
5. BJ by 4th round TKO
6. BJ by 5th round TKO
7. BJ by unanimous decision
8. BJ by split decision
9. GSP by split decision

Hope GSP could wear some glasses in there, no eye poked. BJ didnt nearly nothing in that first fight. He stand against GSP, exchanging punch by punch and thats it. GSP was the one goin forward.
If BJ won that fight, he got it very easy and he don’t deservee it. he did Nothing in the next two rounds so…
BUT, a judge give him the advantage! lol!

For a second there, I thought Guida was going to get robbed.
For the people saying Guida didn’t do much – what did Diaz do, exactly, that should have won the fight for him? He threw a couple of good combinations in round 3 and tried a couple of kimuras that didn’t even succeed in getting Guida off his back.
I think I’m going to start calling the Diaz brothers’ favorite boxing technique the “retard jab” – you paw at the other guy’s face, half of the time with the hand open, making them flinch away from possible eye pokes and hoping the refs score some of them…

They always talk about how Dana and the brass shell out for guys that put on a good show. Fights like Heat/Stun Gun are boring.
I also don’t think that guys should be able to use a fight like that to build momentum towards a title- if Karo wins the next two or three, then everyone will be raving about how he’s on a roll and deserves a title shot.
Karo, we know who you are. Highly overrated….

Why do I get this feeling Bonner is going to lose?
by DAVE on Jan 31, 2009 11:19 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
that spinning elbow was nice, till you see it was illegal and hit Bonnar in the back of the head.
by kitsunex on Jan 31, 2009 11:25 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
…and not a word about it from Rogen, who instead chooses to gush about how unpredictable and amazing it was, as we see three replays showing the elbow land on the base of Bonner’s skull.
Bonner was losing that round badly anyway, but he should have gotten time to recover – as it is, whatever small chance he might have had to pull out a win is greatly reduced…
by MattNY on Jan 31, 2009 11:29 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
yeah i noticed that. i was thinking, “they showed it 3 times and you can’t see it hit him in the back of the head?”

who would win between GSP and Anderson Silva?
by matt on Feb 1, 2009 12:38 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
GSP can’t eat the shots Cote did, but then again GSP doesn’t eat that many shots anyway. If GSP can get him down and maul him with his EXCELLENT top control before he eats that leathal blow, than he will beat Silva. Silva has nowhere near as good of takedown defence as BJ and GSP took him down and controled him. Lutter and Nate took Anderson down before taking damage, neither one has the take-downs or top control of GSP. If GSP rolls through Alves, then it is pointless for GSP to stay at WW and fight lower caliber guys when he destroyed the top guys already. It would be a dangerous fight, but my money would be on GSP.

UTAPT.nice to see one of the more outspoken bj supporters take his medicine. props for manning up. fatty alves has no chance. i see some posters are saying gsp was afraid to stand and was a boring lay-n-prayer. LOL. he was dominating the standup to. KARMA- all the trash talking bj did, saying georges went to the hospital and he went to the clubs, guess who’s going to the hospital tonight. bj saying that talk is cheap, his talk was cheap. remember bj fans, bj called out gsp, not the other way around, and gsp is the 1 who has evolved more than their 1rst fight. i am mainly replying to you utapt, b/c i respect you. bj will be fine, he’s a natural lw, thats why they have weight classes. i give props to bj for challenging gsp, but the trash talk did him in. what bj needs to do now is move back down to 155 were he is at his best defend his lw belt against ken-flo, diego, maybe some up and comers like nate, the bully and hopefully the ufc will bring up faber and bring in a josh thompson, a few of the dream fighters like aoki or alvarez. i think bj at his best is still the best lw in the world bar none and if he can defend his belt against alot these guys, he will go down as the greatest lw ever. he’s just not as good as gsp. gsp could possibly go down as the greatest mma fighter of all time. just think, he is only 27! he is only going to get better.

Bdub…thanks for the respect. Its kind of nice that you guys are being classy in victory, and not making me want to jump off a building…lol.
Anyway, I don’t personally believe in Karma, so I don’t believe BJ’s trash talk is what did him in. In the past BJ has lost fights because he beat himself by not training right. In this fight, GSP beat BJ. I truly believe BJ was prepared. GSP did everything right from the time the first bell rang. He ate two stiff jabs, and absolutely nothing else.
ANd I agree that BJ will be the best 155er of all time, if he wants to. He had said after he beat Sherk, that it would be hard to get motivated for the winner of Florian/Huerta, so I hope he takes this in stride and continues to train hard. Otherwise, I’d rather see him hang it up than return to the old BJ that doesn’t train hard. He’s grown up alot, so I think he’ll keep working hard at his dream of being known as the best ever.

by --utaptout--...is in shock on Feb 1, 2009 1:07 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Like I said in MANY previous posts, there is nothing wrong with GSP’s chin and even if there was it’s a MOOT point, because the only time he was rocked was when he didn’t show up and it was a shot to the back of the head that dazed him first. He might not have the strongest chin, but he ate 20 hard shots from Serra and was still awake. The only thing that bugs me more than GSP’s weak chin is his weak mind. Out of 20 fights, both of these came from the one fight the GSP clearly wasn’t himself. Anomalies shouldn’t be used to define a fighter, be it strengths or weaknesses.
by Gord on Feb 1, 2009 1:44 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I hear you Gord, but what about GSP/Hughes 1? HIs weak mind cost him that fight too. I’ll agree now, thaqt he’s probably past that point, but there’s always that chance. Anyway, we’ll see if Alves can hit him. Alves hits alot harder than anyone that GSP has ever faced. I’d like to see them trade.
by --utaptout--(still BJ's 4th Biggest Hugger) on Feb 1, 2009 1:55 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Maybe it did, but he was just a baby to MMA and he didn’t realize there was only a second left in the fight. The thing is that was a long time ago and everyone makes mistakes. GSP hasn’t made the same mistakes twice and his mistakes are few and far between (18-2), so I think that is more of a testament to his mental strength than it is to weakness. My point is simply, the fact that GSP seems to LEARN from his mistakes, so there is LESS chance of it happening again, rather than a better chance just because it happened before.

by markinwales on Feb 1, 2009 12:47 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Everyone here can stop lying to themselves and own up to the truth, if there wasnt a belt on the line, GSP would have been submitted or KO’d in round 1.
Look at the fight, BJ just kinda ducking and throwing a few jabs. Then defended the take down for a while. One it was on the ground, he just kinda didnt try anything, no kimuras, no triangles, no nothing.
I wouldnt be suprised if we see a sizeable spike up in BJ’s bank account. Had he taken GSP’s belt, 2 weight classes could have been held up for a year or more.
Am I denying GSP’s MMA ablities? No, hes a great athlete and a great fighter, he earned his belt, but hes no BJ.
I of course have no evidence to support my claim, other than its obvious.

BJ’s never done much offensively while on his back. Go back and look at any of his previous fights for evidence. In MMA he’s only the master of the rubber-guard and the RNC, plain and simple. Nothing more.

That’s right machine. He has never submitted anyone by any means other than RNC. BJ fans like to ignore the fact that ‘the best BJJ guy ever’ has never really been able to use his best skill in a fight. He’s 13-5-1 now he is barely over a 66% winning percentage. Not good stats for someone who was suppose to be the best P4P. I say he drops dramatically. He should be ranked no higher than 7 or 8.

Alves will be a good fight- he’s not a better striker than BJ is (at least not technically speaking), his jits isn’t an advantage, and he can’t outwrestle GSP. He needs to land a clean shot that puts him out, but GSP gameplans as well as anyone has, and I see him clearing out whatever’s left of the WW division before a move to MW..

Alves is a better striker than BJ. Not a better boxer but way better and more complete striker.

rydinlow… You appear to confuse “MMA” with “boxing” and “Pound-for-pound” for “Best boxer”.
In MMA, the best man wins, whatever the way. And that’s what happened. BJ was dominated in every facet of the fight.
If BJ had taken the fight to the ground and won by submission, would you have said he’s a “pussy” because he didn’t win by a punch? So, you wouldn’t. Be coherent, consistent, respectful. Don’t be a sore loser.

How would Georges slow down at MW? It would be the exact same except he wouldn’t have to cut the weight to make the fight. He weighs 185 normally, it’s not like he has to gain weight.

Lets see…BJ, Dana, and BJ’s bro ALL had cameras on them at the EXACT same time while phone calls were being made from Dana to the Penn bros? Thats insane. BJ didn’t gas. He simply got overwhelmed by a bigger and stronger fighter.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH ALL THESE STUPID ASS COMMENTS!
All I see is ‘GSP is a boring ass wrestler’, ‘GSP is the new blanket boy’. Mmamania has turned into the new home for TUFnoobs.
If you know ANYTHING about MMA you will understand that was a phenomenal performance by GSP. Slick technical fast wrestling, AMAZING guard passing, VICIOUS ground and pound, and he also OUTSTRIKED BJ Penn on the feet. I was rooting for GSP but I did NOT think he could outstrike BJ. I also thought GSP would have a very hard time taking BJ down but he took him down at will! I NEVER in a million years thought GSP would stand a remote chance of passing BJ’s guard, but he made BJ’s guard look weak and lazy!
Grow the fuck up people, pull your fingers out of your arses and give this man of discipline, hard work, sacrifice and honor some RESPECT.

My reason for picking Sherk was his wrestling. BJ would have wasted alot of energy stopping all the takedowns. I thought Sherk could LnP his way to a W. Thats wasnt to far fetched was it? Because of the decisiveness of the win (total domination), I would have to put GSP no.1 pound-for-pound.
GSP just beat a top 5 pound-for-pounder in BJ Penn (he was ranked no. 4 by several sites). I would like Fedor and Silva to face well ranked pound-for-pounders, if possible, to cement their ranking.
Côté and “brain cramp” Arlovsky are not BJ Penn type challenges.
by ftg314 on Feb 1, 2009 1:28 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
I think you could just as easily say that Penn was just overrated. Without that win over Hughes years ago, no one would have ever given Penn so much attenion, and this fight just proves that much of that praise was a little much. Still a great fighter, but not likley deserving to be so high in the p4p.
by noneed4name on Feb 1, 2009 1:33 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
He also did well against Hughes in theb 2nd fight, and did WAY more damage to GSP than GSP did to him in the first fight. Those weren’t fluke happenstances.
by --utaptout-- on Feb 1, 2009 1:38 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I never said they were, but losing 2 fights hardly is top 4 p4p either.
by noneed4name on Feb 1, 2009 1:52 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
The problem with p4p lists is that there is no TRUE way to calcualte it. Its all speculation. You can’t take Fedor and shrink him down to 155 and see how he’d do.
by --utaptout--(still BJ's 4th Biggest Hugger) on Feb 1, 2009 2:16 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Penn will have his place as a legend of the sport, that’s not a question. It’s just going to be at 155. I’m shocked it was such a landslide. I thought it would be much much closer. I feel bad for Penn now that I’m watching the fight again. He wanted it so badly. At the rate GSP is progressing though, I don’t think he’ll be able to ever catch him.
by DSmith on Feb 1, 2009 2:38 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Makes me think Diego Sanchez’s chances are a little better though. He has more energy than GSP, so Penn needs to get his fat ass on a treadmill if he is going to maintain his belt for very long.

So you’re saying the entire MMA community has overestimated BJ Penn in placing him high on the pound 4 pound list? Could be.
We’ll see what Penn can do with Florian… who did just say GSP should be no.1 pound 4 pound on ESPN. Frank Mir didn’t seem to disagree either.
by ftg314 on Feb 1, 2009 2:17 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I’m just saying that its impossible to prove. We have weight classes. One guy fights another, the better man wins. You can’t say…Well, I’d kick your ass if I were bigger.

The fight pretty much picked up where GSP vs. PENN I ended, with GSP neutralizing BJ’s standup and going for takedowns. Now you know what would have happended if their first fight was a five rounder..
GSP beats Thiago
GSP becomes the greatest ever with a win over Anderson Silva

Lyoto got knockout of the night and co fight of the night went to Guida/Diaz and I think Wellish/O’Brien. I’m surprised it didn’t go the GSP/BJ.
by DSmith on Feb 1, 2009 1:46 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
They don’t really need the extra cash. Dana has been giving these things out to fighters who could use the money. I think it is a great idea. What were the payouts for FOTN and Sub of the night?
by jay on Feb 1, 2009 1:57 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Don’t know, they just announced the winners on ESPN, but not the payouts.
by DSmith on Feb 1, 2009 2:02 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
They usually give FOTN to fights that go back-and-forth a bit, not total dominations.

Nothing better than a trash talker who cant back it up. BJ is a great fighter, but he aint even in GSPs class. GSP hasnt peaked yet. He’s still getting better.
IMO, GSP is the pound-for-pound best in the world. Nobody just dominates BJ like GSP just did. That’s a frickin statement.

Fuck BJ! He needs to go to a real camp and stop thinking he is only a teacher. He could be great if he wanted to. The guy just went 4 rounds with GSP while working with locals really. He is the best at his camp and he needs to go somewhere that has people who can actually teach him something. I mean seriously, do you think his brother is a world class trainer? He should be expanding his skills not hanging around HIS gym working out with lesser men.
by jay on Feb 1, 2009 2:13 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
You’re right, warriors dont get down on themselves. And, if you watched that fight, BJ got very down on himself from the opening of the 3rd round. That right there is typical BJ Penn. The first 2 rounds dont go his way and he folds up shop. BJ Penn is a great fighter with 0 mental game. He’s a waste of talent.
I LOVE SEEING BJ PENN GET OWNED!
by Craig on Feb 1, 2009 2:25 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
lol. he was fighting a bigger guy.
Lets see GSP fight Anderson Silva and see if he even tastes the 2nd round. Let alone gets mentally frustrated after 3 rounds of getting beat on.
GSP wouldn’t make it out of the 3rd with Silva.
by Bennie Blanco from the Bronx on Feb 1, 2009 2:46 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
The difference being that GSP wouldn’t act like an a-hole callin Silva out and woudl actually train for the fight.

And the Dr did not stop this fight. The Dr looked at BJ turned and didnt say a work to anybody, and one of BJs brothers was talking to BJ in the corner, looked up, tapped the doc on the shoulder and told him to end it.

LOL. Machida was the only one to finish a fight quickly. Who predicted that? Now that was a hell of a comming out party. And the emotion he showed after was good to see. He should definately be the #1 LHW contender. Evans might be the only guy in the division with the speed and athletisism to catch Lyoto with something. But if he starts out slow like his last few fights, Machida will pick him apart.
GSP is at another level right now. The fact of the matter is that BJ can beat most guys at 170, but GSP just ran over him. If Alves can’t establish distance and make it a kickboxing bout, he’s going to get smothered too.
Evans v. Machida
GSP v. Alves
BJ v. Florian
Hell yeah!

“I’m going to go to the death, to the death, I’m not going to stop”
Until you get beat down on enough that you have to quit in between rounds. GSp is 2-0 against BJ Penn, all you BJ nuthuggers can suck on that TKO finish for the rest of your time as MMA fans.
I’m heading to Hawaii in a few days BJ, maybe if I feel sorry enough for you I’ll give you a tip when you serve my drinks.
