LMAO! SPANKER!! But seriously, that training looked half assed to me; hopefully that was just some light stuff on an off day.

tHis is just a waste of Bonnars time. Jon JOnes had an exciting performance and might have a future down the line but he has only been training for like a year. Stephan Bonnar is going to severely outclass this kid.

If it hits the ground, its OVER!!! I rate Bonnar as a very high level grappler and Jon jOnes wont come close to having an answer for the ground game.

Bonnar via some kind of stoppage on thej ground. TKO or Submission, probably a RNC!

Yea John, I completely agree, Bonnar is a lock in this fight; but the training did look a little lazy.

I dont even watch those training videos man! Who knows at what point of the training session this video is from or from what day…. I dont put much weight to the training video’s thats why I try not to watch them unless there is an interview attached.

I actually like Bonnars ground game even more then Forrests!

Bonnar had looked strong prior to the knee injury. This fight will give some indication of where he among the LHWT’s and if the injury did not send him backward too far.

Jon Jones is the future. That kid is all talent like BJ except with Greco instead of BJJ. The sport lacks creative fighters and we saw that when he whopped gusmao’s ass even with all bs low blow calls.

I don’t think Bonnar will ever be a champ, or even close to it, but I like him.

He definatley brings it and puts on a good show; the guy is a scrapper, I wouldn’t say he ever holds the strap but I think he could get close.

I wonder if training traditional boxing like that would help or hinder your stand up for mma; I’ve only ever taken boxing and I’ve always heard that a traditional boxing stance does not transition well into MMA.

Bas Rutten invented that modified “Horse stance” for mma, but not many fighters actually use it!

Very true …. perfect for reality-based (or street) fighting and I would love to see more of it. It is very practical.

Is Bonnar a gatekeeper at 205? Do you think they gave him a somewhat easy fight because he has been away for a year? Jones has a stand up game and Bonnar does not hit the ground too often. If Bonnar wins who will he fight next? I hear Wanderlie is going to 185 to fight the winner of Marcus Davis and Chris Lytle. The 185 division needs help it is the least stacked division in the UFC.

hatteras – Wanderlei is considering a move to 185, yes…but Marcus Davis and Lytle are 170, NOT 185. It’s more likely he would face a Marquardt/Quarry/Leben/Okami to start things off.

So, yeah.

Also, he wants a rematch with Chuck before going down (but he’s going to talk to Dana to see what he wants). It’s not 100% yet for him going to MW yet.

Bonnar will take this one late in the first or early in the second. I hope he gets a top 10 guy after this fight, he needs better exposure.

How this fight is on the main card over Fitch vs. Gono is beyond me. I don’t care if Dana is trying to prove a point over their little contract fiasco, don’t penalize the fans of the sport because you think you have to prove a point.
