even BJ is starting to sound over confident….almost as confident as Adam if thats possible

Its not.

“I’m God” “I’ll Kill You” “cheek twitching” BJ may be taking his turn with no sleep and energy drinks.

This is a no lose for Adam…if BJ wins, he’s the greatest fighter, if GSP wins (which he will) he beat a bloated LW.

Im about to be 25 on the 3rd of Feb and im getting into the best shape ive ever been in (use to an athlete in High school etc) for the Army in mid Feb. I let it all go cause my knees hurt so bad from things that happened, NOW, my knees dont even crack like they use to, every 10 minutes. I use the “total gym” (from TV), got it from my father in mid oct and i went from 3 pull ups to 38 in less then 3 months, push ups went from 16 to between 55 and 70 depending on how much stretching and warm up i do first, sit ups, same thing, i never had a 6 pack no matter how athletic i was when i was young but now i dont think ill ever be able to get rid of this thing! And then i do cardio elsewhere, runs etc, that thing works and its fast easy, fool proof, cheap, a 2 foot by 1 foot home gym that my almost 2 year old son could use, i recomend this product for anyone wanting to revive their workout routine, add this to a boxing class or some hands on MMA training and youll be a monster, and feel great (dont forget a multi vita everyday kids, 5 out 5 Drs = )

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 7, 2009 12:06 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

5 out of 5 eh??…LoL…same situation as you…actually been looking for a home gym of my own. Going to train or workout wouldn’t be as tough if I didn’t have to drive there, change, shower, wait for sparring partners or workout equipment etc. Motivation to do that gets harder than anything else as I get older, more work responsibilities, kids, bills etc.

by McArthur on Jan 7, 2009 12:17 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

people scoff at the total gym till they get on it. that thing will kick the average dudes ass in a hurry! i’ve used one off and on for 12 years and i swear to god i’m stronger p4p than anyone i know.

by jonsey on Jan 7, 2009 12:21 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Thats exactly where i was at with the motivation, it sucked to have to actually do something to get into shape LMAO! (can you tell im a Penn fan LoLLLLL!) Now its so easy to just hope down and get going or stop and crank out some quick ones, no wait, no BS in the gym. Add a punching bag to your man cave or garage and BOOM! Next thing you know your neighbors will be asking what the deal is cause they thought you were against steroids but there cant be any other answer LMAO!!!

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 7, 2009 12:25 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Really? Your a Penn fan? LOL That gym sounds like it might be what I’m looking for. Where did you get it? How much are they worth?

by McArthur on Jan 7, 2009 12:27 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

See, Jonsey knows whats up, what is it like 29 bucks now, screw in 6 screws and it should last forever, imagine if you had to mave to a new house/apartment, you can toss your home gym on the floor of your passenger seat after carrying it out to your car with your pinky, can Chuck Norris’s gym thingy do that = )

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 7, 2009 12:27 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

im sure if you google it or search it (“The Total Gym”) it will have its own website and etc, its 29 bucks right now (half off) i think, it could even be in some stores by now (BIG5, Sporting goods stores etc) by mail it takes a couple days, once you try it youll laugh your *ss off at how effective it is and how , well, nothing it is compared to all other “home gyms”. But im pretty sure my dad coppied down the phone # from the commercial and called, wish i was at my home so i could just look at the box for you bro and get you the number but im out of town with friends this week (vaca).

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 7, 2009 12:34 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

no prob…let me know if you remember some day….I’ll google it in the mean time….thx boys

by McArthur on Jan 7, 2009 12:39 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

They sell it at Wal-Mart. I actually compete as a powerlifter, so the home gym doesn’t cut it for me, but I like going to the gym. Knowing that I have a contest every couple of months makes it easy to stay motivated. If you keep a goal in mind, that will usually help you to stay on track. I also do BJJ 3 days a week for 2 hours at a time. I did karate and Jiu-Jitsu for 8 years, but doing something new makes it so much easier to stay on track. Also, I am not married and I don’t have any kids, so that helps. haha

by naturalshadow on Jan 7, 2009 1:24 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

That does help nat lal, but at the same time my son (BJ, is his name) is my motivation, wierd how it can work for some and not others, depends on the kid i guess = ) (not meaning anything bad towards anyones kids on here in any way, just joking guys)

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 7, 2009 1:31 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

i know alot of people who have the home gym things and they sit in their house and collect dust. i think a real, physical gym is the only way to go. hot girls walking around in little shorts and sports bras will motivate just about anybody to work out hard at the gym so you dont look like a bi*ch!

Adam-What’d you do for your knees? I got bad knees too.

by Kdog on Jan 7, 2009 6:55 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I did lunges across my large living room, use my staircase more than i need to, and squats. The main thing though is stretching, i di=o it first thing in the morn and before bed (and mid excercise if i fell funny somewhere) Go slow and the cracking will eventually stop (or the pain) I think i had fluid in my right knee for 4 or 5 years, now nothing, no redness, no swelling and no cracking. Basicaly it feels like you shouldnt do much on them but the only way mine got better was getting more active and getting past that first 3 or 4 days where my whole body was sore (not just my knees) and everything got better all at once. Pavement Basketball screwed mine up. And waiting tables for 6 strait years being on my feet strait up did it, when i would bend for the first time of the day after work to get into my car, they would kill me! And on long drives of extending my right leg for the gas the whole time, when i finaly bent them it would hurt. STRETCH! Thats what im crediting my rehabish state to when it comes to my knees. Let me know what works for you bro, im curious to narrow down what works and what doesnt. Penn does some great stretches for his legs that you should look at on his site bro so check those for some new, creative stretches from one of the most flexible dudes on the planet.

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 7, 2009 8:23 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Men – am I the only one that works for a living???

Adam – I have significant issues that extend past my writing skills. And, you are right, increased activity and stretching are key towards rehabilitation. I can tell you that BIKRAM YOGA works. I was assessed by two physical therapists and then proceeded to do this yoga for 6 weeks. The therapists could not get over how much my shoulders, back, neck and hips improved. Incredible. The problem is that it is hot as hell and takes over 2 hours of your day. I recommend this to anybody with joint issues, even arthritis.

by TapedUpPair on Jan 7, 2009 9:13 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Nice, im getting ready to start being even more serious about my health and body as well as what ive been doing to prepare for the Army in Feb, Once i have great med ill be looking into several things ive heard about, take every advantage i can get, ill be looking into “BIKRAM YOGA” for sure, already was interested in yoga, didnt know there were different types, thanks bro. And again, all my stuff is done in house, so if you can do better than i recomend that by all means.

Imagery Analyst, im stoked about it, did great on the asvab so i had a lot of options, FireFighter (which im already involved in), Sat comm systems operator, a lot of good ones. Narrowed it down to the best job with the most to offer after im discharged, highest siging bonus for the lowest amount of time while still liking what im doing, love geography, just took it in college lab/lecture. I gotta do this for my son ya know, both our futures are riding on it (if you dont mind me being serious for a sec LoL) but yea, everythingis riding on this move im making, after all the research ive done it all seems perfect and im pretty happy. Either this or wait tables and finish school hella slowly, i got bills, i need the GI bill, the VA loan, the benefits etc, wish there was another way but i just dont see it. Ill be siging this Sat/Sunday to leave in Feb. You called it an MOS not a “job”, have you been in the Armed Forces before? Civilians dont know its called an MOS that why i ask bro??

Yea, no flaming, just a quiet guy that is now in the spotlight of millions and not sure what to do with it yet, if he beats BJ his confidence will never be questioned again, he’ll even walk taller i bet, joke with reporter more, just speak without thinking like other fighter do (BJ, Brock etc)

BJ has been doing this for a couple years now, the cameras constintly (EVERYDAY, IN HIS HOUSE, GYM, CAR) for his Shows and website and Sherk fight/Jens TUF show, GSP isnt ready for this, all the attention plus BJ saying things like “im going to try and kill you, and im not kidding” will go to his head and hes f*cked! GSP will lose this fight before he ever gets into the cage.

I cant believe Penn is gonna pull this off bro, hes doing everything right that he can, messing with George every chance, diet, workouts, website, treatment of fans and appearences (you could never find this kid doing interview and talking to the media 3 years ago, too stoned!!) actions in his personal life, new baby, new belt, new old belt on the way, TUF shows, Title fights once a year in different weight classes, this “primetime” special, hes becoming a megastar (along with George) but as a looooooooooong time Penn fan its crazy to see this all coming to fruition after the loss to Hughes, many thought he would dissapear into the Hawaiian sunset and never show his face again, but hes better then i ever thought he would ever be on his best day in the best week during the best month of his life. No to mention erasing the loss toJens, getting back to his roots of BJJ, its crazy, thank you BJ from all of us. AND BJ BJ BJ BJ BJ BJ BJ BJ BJ BJ BJ !!!!!!!!!

Same here, love me some GSP smashing fools with those leg kicks that i wish BJ had, but not against Penn. And i want to see whoever gets the shpt, slaughter Ando! ON this subject ill scream it out GSP BJ GSP BJ GSP BJ BJ BJ!!! Love Ando but its been so easy for him, these two are going through a hell of a lot just to find out who is number 2 or 3 on the P4P list, crazy to fight eachother and the winner still isnt the best in the world just cause Ando beat Marquardt, Irvin and a guy that didnt even make weight let alone hold a condle to Rich who Ando destroyed, cake walk for him. (only legit W are the Franklin fights and Hendo IMO) But then again BJ/GSP havent been fighting exactly P4Pers lately.

penn will win the only reason he lost last time is because his conditioning GSP will get scared but wont show then after he ll use it as an excuse. WAR PENN!!

by R.e.s on Jan 7, 2009 12:21 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Only one gsp fan on this page other than me, whats up? I hate to burst your bubble, penn fans but if it was a 5 rounder there last fight there would be no controversy and would have been a clear decision for gsp. Penn talks WAY too much and if he loses which I think he win he’ll look really stupid, with all his comments he’s been making. GSP is not much of a trash talker and seems pretty quiet before fights as he said the more you talk the dumber you look after you lose ex his fight with trigg. Most people thought penn lost because of conditioning and gsp got punched up and almost lost because he lacked technical skill. One thing I know for sure is who wins this fight is the one who has improved the most in there area of weakness in there last fight. Penn sure seems ready and more determined than ever, but who knows just how much more gsp has advanced his skill set? GSP being scared of penn is laughable, why? He beat him already and feels very confident he’s a better fighter than him, and said he thought fitch was his toughest test yet. I don’t agree with you guys, comments like “I’m going to try to kill you, I’m not kidding” “I’m god” blah blah will have the opposite affect on gsp, he’ll be more determined to get the win that ever before. I think the more trash talking a fighter does to gsp the worse beating they’ll get, only time will tell though. Just ask your selves penn fans why does penn keep saying “I’m going to do this to you, and that to you” it almost seems to me he’s insecure himself deep down and trying to reassure himself. The more confident fighter doesn’t need to try to get in the other fighters head, he doesn’t care. The more I hear penn saying stuff like this the more I feel gsp will make an example out of him.

by nathan on Jan 7, 2009 1:50 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

You can also argue that if it was in Pride GSP gets no break to get his face checked and cleaned, spilt milk, and in a bar fight GSP would still be picking glass from a beer bottle out of his spandex.

hey chief,,, Adam G my boy, you really need to find something useful to do to fill the obvious void in so called life! Lmaomfer! GSP will CRUSH BABY JAY AGAIN! WATCH IT HAPPEN KID!

by G.S.P.P4P.CHAMP!!! on Jan 15, 2009 11:05 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I couldn’t agree more Nathan about trash talking GSP. I always wondered why guys would lip it up before fighting him, because it seems to only fuel the fire and make GSP super focused on destroying them. Serra 1 he said nothing but the nicest things about GSP. I don’t think that is the sole reason he won, but it sure didn’t push GSP to train like an animal like he did when Hughes and Serra went to far and disrespected GSP french heritage. I wish BJ would call him Frenchy, he wouldn’t make it out of the 2nd round.

by Gord on Jan 9, 2009 1:54 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

All you penn fans don’t count your chickens before there hatched, celebrate after he wins. Gsp is a formidable opponent and will be by far the toughest guy he’s ever fought and will be the highlight of his career if he pulls it off. Why does penn have to hate his opponents, want to kill them, ready to die in the octagon and lick his opponents blood off his gloves.? I think he might be insane, or close to it, hope he doesn’t end his career off like mike tyson and try to bite off gsp’s ear and want to eat gsp’s family LOL kidding. Penn would probably be my favorite light weight if he was less arrogant and said less stupid things. I was rooting for penn in his fight with pulver, was indifferent with his fight with stevenson but thought penn would win, and was rooting for sherk in his last fight just because I liked sherks personality better but thought penn would win if he didn’t gas and he didn’t. This fight is hard to predict for me as I’m wrong all to often and just stopped trying to pick fights in MMA and just enjoy them. I think gsp wins but know penn might be able to pull it off, he has the best boxing of anyone gsp has faced, is the best off his back and has very good take down defense a very tough fight for gsp, it will be interesting how it plays out.

by nathan on Jan 7, 2009 2:09 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

NOPE! We’re gonna party right up to D-Day baby!!! Just him getting the fight is a reason to celebrate to us bro. If you believed in GSP as much as you type about him you would be just as excited to get this whole Penn issue behind you and make a statement to the other P4Pers out there. BJ BJ BJ!!!

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 7, 2009 3:02 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Your not the only GSP fan here…not by a long shot…personally I don’t mind the way BJ acts. He has been selling the fight for months now and has done a better job at it than GSP. GSP isn’t as vocal but sells fights with his actions in the octagon. 2 completely different personalities but both definately mean business. As a big GSP fan I of course want to see him do well against a p4p top 3 like BJ (who I am also a fan of) but its got nothing to do with what happens before the fight despite what some say. IMO, GSP will win with his athletism and endurance plain and simple. I know, I know, BJ’s in great shape now blah, blah, blah. To be honest, it takes years to develop physical condition like GSP’s. BJ can’t just say he’s in shape cause he’s trained hard for 2 years, a year, or 6 months, it takes longer to build that base of strength and conditioning. This will be the difference as BJ gasses in round 4 or 5. The trick for GSP will be getting BJ into those deep waters.

by McArthur on Jan 7, 2009 3:11 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

If he gasses in 4 or 5 then GSP better finish him cause he has probably already won rounds 1-3 (atleast rnd1 since hes never lost a first round before including to GSP and IMO to Lyotto) (and hes only lost a 2nd round to those 2 fighters and barely, and AGAIN, while out of shape)

Say it isnt so, how have i earned this honor Even though Gord rarely speaks lately i still see him and PJJ as my #1 oposition, they come with great arguments that i have to admit, throw me through loops at first, and i love their stubborness like mine! PJJ!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!! BJ BJ BJ!!!

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 7, 2009 4:43 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Who cares who wins? What a gonzo fight it’s going to be. We’ll either see BJ licking blood off of GSP’s face, or a messed-up back flip and some wack-ass break dancing moves!

I also wonder if BJ’s talking nuts just to drum up publicity. Don’t we all remember when Mike Tyson said he wanted to eat Lennox Lewis’s children?

I kind of wish GSP would just let his id out and say ludicrous things as well. We all remember ‘I am not impressed by your performance’, which is pretty weak, just imagine what would happen if he really let loose.

Actually ((adamg)) penn did lose a first, at least in one judges eyes, his second fight with matt hughes cecil peoples gave the round to hughes ha ha, can you believe that?:P Gsp and Penn are complete opposites gsp is very reserved, almost timid outside the octagon and penn is a bar brawling, cop punching, trash talking SOB. Gsp was asked what his tattoo on his left chest meant and he said it meant the duality of his personality he can be very vicious or very nice, perfectly put. He’s vicious in the octagon and a gentle man out of it. McArthur if you were talking to me I made that comment a long time ago, this site is goofy sometimes your comment comes up several comments down, only penn fans were on here at the time. Actually trash talkers are good for the sport, to hype things up, a mixed bag is better we need the gentlemen (gsp, couture) and the trash talkers (penns, tito’s) it makes things more interesting.

((Adamg)) You said “If you believed in GSP as much as you type about him you would be just as excited to get this whole Penn issue behind you and make a statement to the other P4Pers out there.” I type about gsp a lot because he’s my favorite fighter, and my statement is I don’t have a clue who will win, nor does anyone, both guys are formidable fighters, I like gsp and don’t like penn, so I hope gsp wins but won’t be surprised if he loses penn is an amazing fighter too. You definitely are a much bigger penn fan than I am a gsp fan or are more vocal, and seem pretty damn sure he’s going to win, he might or he might lose. I’m kind of on the fence with this one but am leaning towards gsp just going by there last 3 fights. My favorite division is the welter weight division which I type about the most. I used to be more like you ((adamg)) and was way more feisty about who’s going to win and had such confidence and belief in my favorite and when they lost I was bitter for a long long time. I’m not going to get overly confident that my favorite wins because this sport is too unpredictable and prefer now to just enjoy the fights and knowing anything can happen makes it more suspenseful. I can predict one thing for sure, there’s going to be a lot of very upset mania fans on here come feb 1st, hope I’m not one of them, but I’ll be here.

All true words! And i remember that cicil peoples dumb judging, but we know who really won it, if 2 out of the 3 judges score it for Penn then who cares what Peoples does, Penn still gets the round.

Seems like a lot of sh-t talking on here about GSP / Penn. Watch and see what happens to Penn. I can’t wait to hear him scream uncle when Georges subs him with a kimura, after giving Penn a beatdown in the first 2 rounds. Like I said GSP by kimura in round 3!!!

Some how couch champ I can’t see that happening I would be stunned if it did. Gsp couldn’t sub fitch or come close to subbing serra, the only way I see gsp subbing penn is after stunning him badly first. Possible but unlikely.

All BJ PENN is doing is (trying) to convince himself and everyone else he can beat GSP! Well, I got some bad bad news for ya fatty-boy… GSP WILL CRUSH YOUR SPOILED ROTTEN SOUL! No matter how much you talk tough to try to tell yourself that your not terrified of GSP, It wont matter, Cause both YOU and GSP Know that he will DEMOLISH YOUR OVER-RATED ASS Fat-So!
