Ok both fighters aren’t A level, but this could easily be the fight of the night. Both have very heavy hands and both love to bang. Lets go Davis!

No….this fight WILL NOT be a “test of hearts”…as both fighters have plenty of heart. Rather, it will likely be a test of who has the better stand up skills and avoiding the sort of damage that causes cuts and a possible early stoppage. Both these guys have a tendency to bleed and a stoppage due to a cut is a real possibility.

im picking davis on this one, his stand up seems a little more crisp and faster.

totally off topic, anyone say the cro cop vs Hong man Choi fight?? if yes anyone else believe that fight was fixed??

Saw the fight and he did fall straight on his back after a single kick to the leg.
but who knowes i guess.
The fight with Bob Sapp facing a masked anime character, wtf was that!?

How bout u let Mirko unload a leg kick on your knee then we’ll see if u think it was fixed. He may be on the decline but he still has some devestating kicks and when your 7’ 2" your leg is a pretty easy target.

Man, davis looks so freaking weird after he got all that scar tissue removed from his brows.

by NameNotRequired on Jan 7, 2009 9:18 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

He does look different! good job doc!

by braveheart on Jan 8, 2009 7:30 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Davis thinks he is much better than he actually is. I hope lyttle knocks him out!

by mike22 on Jan 7, 2009 9:18 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

yeah right. Lytle has 4 (T)KO wins in his career. He has decent stand up, but he wont KO Marcus Davis. Marcus Davis wont be the first to KO Lytle either. Davis by UD. But NOT fight of the night

by Synyster [[2009 Year of Gegard Mousasi]] on Jan 7, 2009 9:36 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Ya they might not get fight of the night, but then one of them will get KO of the night. And you can hold that to me.

by Bluepit on Jan 7, 2009 10:08 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

THis should be a good fight but I am leaning otwards Davis cause he has better stand up defense. Lytle has a great chin but he leaves himself open to take a lot of shots and thats going to cost him against Marcus

by john on Jan 8, 2009 7:52 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Lyttle thinks he is much better than he actually is. I hope Davis knocks him out!

chris lytle is probably one of the most humble ppl ive ever met, he just loves to scrap and isnt afraid of anyone

by josh on Jan 8, 2009 9:12 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I know Chris Lytle. He’s a good guy. You, however, seem like a jackass.

this will be a dope fight. I don’t think it’ll be fight of the night cuz hendo vs franklin should be better. davis by 1rd rnd tko

by TRIKZ on Jan 7, 2009 10:11 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

theres a possibly that will happen but i like marcus and im picking him in this fight, but to see lytle go down id rather see him lose a decision. guy isnt even a full time fighter.

by Jared on Jan 7, 2009 10:33 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

not so sure about that, Hendo’s been slowing down lately, and rich hasnt been the same sice the silva fights(not that i blame them)

by connor on Jan 7, 2009 11:29 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I’m gonna pick Lytle by either TKO or UD.

I’ve been cheering for him ever since he got screwed at the TUF 4 finale. IMO.

You got to give it to him, he always puts on a great show. Easily could be a champ anywhere else. Even the WEC.

by oddchild on Jan 7, 2009 11:14 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

i really like both fighters, doubt either will ever be a title holder but i always enojoy watching them

by connor on Jan 7, 2009 11:30 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Lytle is a bleeder, actually they both bleed easliy. This should be a bloodbath ending by KO or TKO, Im not sure but may pick Davis to win this fight, could go either way. It should be a beauty!!

Ima say davis u/d also

I do think fight of night possible

Gonna be sick!

by Bad intentions on Jan 8, 2009 7:31 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Davis got knocked down and almost out by Paul Taylor. Lytle has a better chin. if they stand and bang Davis is getting knocked out.

by tipsypenguin on Jan 8, 2009 9:04 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

chris is one of the most humble fighters out there, he just loves to put on a great show

by josh on Jan 8, 2009 9:14 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Can’t wait to see this fight. I’m huge fan of Davis
I love it when he said ‘lets just beat the piss outa each other’
Smart move to say who ever goes to the ground is a pussy cause Lytle has pretty sick jits doesn’t he?

by IrishKev on Jan 8, 2009 9:24 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

I love how boxers always say, your a pussy if you take it to the ground, LOL, this is MMA not a boxing match, some guys never seem to get that. Isn’t the point of fighting to get the win, why would a great ground and pound or submission specialist stand with a pro boxer…….duh. Matt hughes has weak stand up but has nine welter weight titles, its because he’s not a moron and fought people at there weakness’s. Apparently there were a lot of guys with weak take down defense in his title reign. Gsp, alves and penn are the only guys he lost to in 24 fights, all of these guys can strike WITH great take down defense, bad match up for hughes. A slug fest is good but so is an up and down fight too, the only fights I really don’t like are guys than just lay on the other fighter doing nothing.

by nathan on Jan 8, 2009 2:52 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I’d like to see either of these guys fight penn, that would be an interesting fight, lytle was IMO getting the better of alves before the cut, the mans got some good hands.
