How can you not like Rich!?!?….I like Hendo but I hope Rich can take this

by McArthur on Jan 2, 2009 7:46 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

On Paper I would take Henderson, but Hendo has looked like a former shell of himself since entering the UFC. With that said, I will have to go with Franklin in this one. If the Henderson from the Pride days shows up. Franklin will get his head ripped off! Is age catching up to Hendo? This fight should answer some questions.

I wish this fight took place in a Pride ring, about 4 years ago!

“shell of himself”? really? he’s lost a tough five round decision to rampage, and got submitted by silva after dominating him in the first round. Then he beat a very dangerous palhares. I don’t think he’s been any better in the UFC than he was in Pride, but he hasn’t been any worse either.

im a hendo fan but palhares should have been finished hes not what he once was but i think he just needed a confidence booster with that win over palhares so who knows i think he’ll knock rich out brutally

Franklin is much more technical then Hendo is. It could go either way but it all depends on which version of Henderson will show up

by john on Jan 2, 2009 2:52 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

the 205 Hendo will show up who is imo the best Hendo there is

by McArthur on Jan 2, 2009 4:37 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I’ve got word straight out of BTT that Hendo was oiled up for the palhares fight…juice in japan, grease in the States! I hate a cheater….WAR ACE!

I want Rich to win, but I want him to stay at LWH and make a run for the title.

damn..having a hard time choosing who’ll take it..but whoever wins i hope he whoops Bisping’s a**.

One fight I’d love to see if Rich and Shogun both win is Rich/Shogun

by McArthur on Jan 2, 2009 7:51 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Franklin is going to win im sure of it! Then Bisping is going to spank him like a red headed step child and make him his bitch monkey! Franklin doesnt want to move back down though because if he wins Bisping then he is on his way to fighting Silva again? It doesnt make sense to me…

by Tony on Jan 2, 2009 8:10 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

haha I don’t know why you think Bisping could lay a hand on Franklin but thats crazy talk. I hope Franklin wins so then he can just beat Bisping at LHW and it’ll further Franklins career at LHW. I think that is how the UFC will market this fight if Franklin beats Hendo but if Hendo wins then it’ll be a fight at MW

by Cogito Ergo Sum on Jan 2, 2009 8:43 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Way wrong. Why would Bisping fight at LHW? If Franklin wins, the fight will absolutely be at middleweight. I can’t believe that you guys are questioning the weight that the fight would be at.

by Adam T. on Jan 2, 2009 9:22 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

i’m a bisping fan but how can you belive what you just said, if he ever did fight franklin i could see it being a competitive fight but there’s no way it would be all bisping, if it did end up being all one sided it would be franklin getting the easy win. As for this fight i’m finding it hard to pick a winner, although henderson has better wrestling franklin’s takedown defense is pretty good, also he’s got a size advantage on henderson which will help, if it does go to the ground franklin is good at getting back up, in the stand up i’d say henderson has the edge in power and his chin but franklin is much more technical, i’m leaning towards franklin at the moment, i think it’ll either be franklin by UD or hederson buy 2nd rd tko

by hughes on Jan 2, 2009 9:58 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

i still can’t get over how much franklin’s nose got munched. he looks like a totally different person. should be an exciting fight even though it has no real significance besides the next season of TUF, which i’m still pretty confused about. franklin won’t move back down just to face bisping…

by ActionJackson on Jan 2, 2009 8:30 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

That is something that is confusing me, what weight is the Bisping fight going to happen at?

Frankilin and Henderson are both settled at 205 and I cant see Bisping changing from 185, this fight makes no sense.

I feel Nate “the Great” and Bisping should fight for the No1 contender spot, after all at least both of them ar fighting in the same division as the belt they will be contending for.

Just my 2.

Back to the OT – I think Frankilin will win.

by Confused on Jan 2, 2009 8:38 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Any fight between Hendo or Franklin with Bisping would be at 185. I definitely wouldn’t say that Henderson is settled at 205 seeing as how he wants another shot at Anderson’s middleweight belt. IMO, Marquardt is the biggest threat at 185 to Anderson. I would like to see a rematch with Nate much more than I would a rematch with Henderson. The fact that Rich Franklin has several potential big fights at 205 just shows how good Anderson Silva is. Where is Rich going to go when Anderson takes the LHW belt too? Maybe then he’ll go the heavyweight. LOL.

I like Rich but this fight for me will determine weather or not Franklin still has it since losing to Silva. He has not really looked to impressive in some of his last fights, (Lutter and Hamil fighting complete crap do not count) and fighting Henderson who always brings it and is always tough, will have to make Rich step up his game and show that he should still be rated up there with the top guys. Fighting one of the toughest 205 pounders is going to be a real difficult task. I am looking forward to it.

by Ade on Jan 2, 2009 9:24 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

who has looked good fighting anderson? just because his only losses are to anderson and machida doesnt mean he isnt better than almost evryone else

by dtoto on Jan 2, 2009 5:37 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Did you not read me comment on his performances against Lutter and Hammil. I said that he has never really been tested since Anderson and that included those fights. This next one will be a real test for him and will answere a few questions. It’s not rocket science, try to keep up.

Dan Henderson is about to be swept by the wayside like Wanderlei Silva and Big Nog. I wonder what he’ll whine about this time after he loses.

Once Shogun takes care of the ancient Mark Coleman, a Franklin/Shogun fight would be a big draw.

but still tko for hendo in the 2nd or 3rd round

I am actually interested in Silva vs Franklin 3 at some point. If I were Franklin, I would spend a portion of my training time training for Silva no matter who I was fighting against next. It just seems to me that if Franklin trained with world-class Muay Thai guys year round he would eventually become comfortable enough to make it a fight. Maybe it’s dumb to see the fight several times back to back, but if Franklin can clean out the division so easily, I say give him another shot at some point before Silva retires.

by Punch You in the Ovaries on Jan 2, 2009 11:11 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Man this is tough fight to call, but I think it would be better for Rich and the UFC if Rich wins. Then after the next TUF, Rich can move back to 185 and smoke Bisping and get another pop at Silva or wait till Silva to retire and claim the belt again. The 205 division is so stacked that Rich will have a long road to the top and at his age he may not have the time to get there. I couldn’t see hime working his way through Wandy, Page, Liddel, Forrest and Rashad.
Any way…War Rich!!

Man I love Rich he is such a good fighter and the way he is talking with that old swag he is really looking good. I hope he beats Hendo, and I would love to see him fight either Forrest or Banner

by Wanderlei Fan on Jan 2, 2009 11:50 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Tough fight to call, hendo did look better than franklin did with each of there last fights with silva, but ya just never know, and to be honest I could care less who wins.

by nathan on Jan 2, 2009 12:03 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

How much less could you care? The proper way to state that is “I couldn’t care less”.
I agree with John’s statement above on Henderson’s less than stellar recent performances and the question of age catching up to him. I definitely think Franklin will win this fight.

by Adam T. on Jan 2, 2009 12:25 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

hendo all the wayyyyyy , but if rich wins no deal i like both these guys. henderson by knockout in second after dominating first round

by Jared on Jan 2, 2009 2:01 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Henderson is an ugly rat faced, eye gouging cheater! Henderson was out of gas in the third round against Rich Franklin and “hendo” looked like he could have been finished by Rich at the end of the third. Because he’s such a dirty arrogant prick, Dan decided to gouge Rich in the eye and buy himself some much needed rest/time…
When Henderson fought A. Silva, he tried to stifle Anderson Silva by covering up Silva’s mouth in the first round, but then Anderson Silva literally kicked Dan Henderson’s face in and he beat Dan’s ass in the second round. I can’t wait to see Anderson Silva or someone else beat the crap out of Henderson’s arrogant Rat face again!
