But the f*cker kinda "half-tapped while he was on the show…I just don’t give a rat’s a$$ about Dollaway.

he tapped against massenzio. you can clearly see him start to tap with his right hand and then stop after two or three taps. it’s the same thing he did in the finale too. apparently he never learns.

I never noticed it thats crazy stuff… Im gunna go check it out and see.. thats so funny he tapped against Amir also LMAO… what a sore loser!

“flailing” dont come out me with that both rashad and jardine have made him look like a bitch when he gets pounded

I think these guys tap so much in training they tap without even realizing it when they get in trouble in an actual fight. It’s just a reflex. That being said, I hate it when guys hold up their hand like they are going to tap and then wait but eventually tap. Once you hold up that hand, it’s in your mind that you are going to tap. You have already given up. You could be using that hand to try to escape. Might as well be holding up a white flag.
by wAyNe on Dec 30, 2008 10:11 AM EST up reply actions
I was certain CB tapped during the fight. His body language and sheepish smile during the interview also led me to believe that he tapped. But after watching it in slow motion replay multiple times, I no longer think it was a tap. His right hand was caught during the guillotine and when he finally pulled it out forcefully, it looked like his right hand moved with a rebounding type motion. It did not look like he was using his forearm muscles to cause a tap.
by DrPepper on Dec 30, 2008 9:15 AM EST up reply actions
Yeah he did the cheating d!ckhead. Hate the guy. Probably hoped the other guy would momentarily loosen the hold thinking that CB had tapped for real.

And to all maniacs who always say “first” when they are 1st to comment, 2 words for ’ya…Grow Up…

FIRST!!!. . .wait. . .damn you SYD!! lol. You grow up “The Negation”. Your post was equally as pointless. On topic now, I agree that CB Dollaway is highly overrated and unimpressive so far. I do like Bader a lot more than CB even though they are friends and all, Bader just seems more down-to-earth.

I already grew up a decade ago, hehe!…Well back to the topic, I also like Bader due to the fact that I’m a Star Wars fan.

He was out like a fat chick in a dodgeball – he might as well tapped cz ref quite clearly was taking a snooze & letting him get hit in the face while unconcious

I couldn’t tell if he was joking or being serious.
by DB on Dec 29, 2008 5:24 PM EST up reply actions
How does he remember not tapping if he doesnt remember really being in the guillotine? He said he remembers getting hit and then came too and popped his head out. He completely contradicts himself.
by PedroCerano on Dec 29, 2008 4:12 PM EST reply actions
He tapped. He had his excuse ready when Joe asked him directly after the fight. Rogan asked him how close he was to the guillotine ending the fight……CB said “I dont really remember”
His bitch ass tapped TWICE very quickly. RE watch the fight. It is obvious that he tapped and changed his mind liek he had done before.
by fightfan on Dec 29, 2008 5:27 PM EST up reply actions
When I first saw the fight I didn’t see him tap.. but now that htere is a thread here about it.. when I get home tonight I’ll take a look at this fight again.. I do an official review..but I don’t think he tapped..if I remember correctly.
by PhilQNY on Dec 29, 2008 4:12 PM EST reply actions
I didnt think he tapped either. For those who think Forrest didnt tap….Give me a break! If Forrest didnt tap, then neither did GSP against Serra (Lmao). Its hard to respect forrest after he didnt deserve to ever become champion in the 1st place, tap away his 1st title defense. 1 pump CHUMP! Take your ass whoopin like a man, n wait till the ref stops it!
by john on Dec 29, 2008 5:32 PM EST up reply actions
So John, how many UFC fights have you been in again? Or even smaller shows? And how many belts have you recieved that you didnt use to hold your pants up? Maybe you should sit down and shut up, because I bet you have never taking an ass whoopin at all out side of a pitty pat bar fight. So it may be easy to talk shit from behind the safety of your computer, but the truth is you have no idea what you are talking about in that post. Its a shame to, because you usually have some good points.
by Alwayssunny on Dec 30, 2008 7:21 AM EST up reply actions
Everone watching with me saw it at the time. We were screaming at the TV. I watched it in slo-mo and I do think he was starting to tap. He may have realized it and then pulled up but, knowing his eagerness to tap early, I think he was tapping.
Also, his post fight comments smacked of Bisping after the HAmmil fight, and his version of “not remembering” tells me he was conscious of it [the tap].

i was back stage during the fights, and supposedly massenzio severly hyperextended his knee during warm ups while sprawling with wrestling shoes on. in most cases, im pretty sure they would have been pulled him from the fight, but i think they gave him a shit load of pain killers and dana begged him to go on. they spent the last two hours wrapping his knee rather than warming up, and he still should have won the fight. that punk bitch tapped after he almost got knocked out by a one legged man. he was being carried around by his cornermen back stage couse he couldnt walk. he said cb hit like a bitch.
by snicket916 on Dec 29, 2008 5:49 PM EST up reply actions
Thanks for the Info. Massenzio is defintly a tough guy but he isnt the 1st guy to go out there and FDight one 1 leg filled with PainKillers….See Shogun vs. Forrest!
by john on Dec 29, 2008 6:41 PM EST up reply actions
well your boy defended himself like a bitch,he clearly no matter how hard cb hit was not trying to get out of it,so if you can not defend yourself wisely the ref has no choice but to stop it.On the subject ,it looked like he was about to tap,and decided to rest his hand, but I will say it was very close ,I saw it as soon as it happened, even I was OOO ,that was close to a tap,but I do not think he went threw with it ,and it was not tapping like 2 times, but he needs to stop that crap, because the fighter he is fighting can get the wrong idea and let him go
by Scott on Dec 29, 2008 7:57 PM EST up reply actions
It looked like that is something he does in training too much lol. Looks like second nature to bring his hand into a tapping position when in danger. I watched the replay and I can see how people could say he tapped but in actuality he did not all out tap.

he didnt tap if the ref didnt catch it… if it was you who got that call to go your way you’d do the same exact thing he is.. i think he tapped really but if it wasnt ruled a tap good for him now go fight a bjj guy :]

While watching i jumped up and thought it was over cause it was clear he did the same “almost tap, kinda tap, half tap, etc.” that he did before!
He panics wayyyy to fast!
by SoCalStunNa on Dec 29, 2008 4:33 PM EST reply actions
thiago tavares did the same thing against matt wiman and didn’t get caught. it was like a real quick little 1-2! thankfully wiman won the fight anyway. it’s not like cb is gonna admit to it. he has a penchance for quick tapping/panic tapping. a tapout is a tapout. there’s no in-between. it doesn’t have to be a big 4 or 5 hand slap. no such thing as a kinda/maybe tap imo.
by b.w. on Dec 29, 2008 4:59 PM EST up reply actions
When Rampage said that was a dumb question to ask, the guy should of said, “Ok, Quinton, here is an even dumber one: What is the best way to try and run from the cops when I am driving a big truck with my picture plastered all over it?” Takes a dummy to know something dumb I guess.
by the_mexicutioner on Dec 29, 2008 4:33 PM EST reply actions
Challenge accepted. You got his number? Anyway genius, the point is that he is in no position to call someones legitimate question dumb, like he has got all the sense. For Rampage to call anyone or anything dumb would be like the pot calling the kettle black, no pun intended.
by the_mexicutioner on Dec 29, 2008 6:23 PM EST up reply actions
He was just saying that even if he did tap ,he was still going to say that he didn’t tap,so it was a dumb question, like he is going to get yeah I tapped out of him,I know you hate Rampage, but come on ,you really do not have to hate on everything that comes out of his mouth
by Scott on Dec 29, 2008 8:02 PM EST up reply actions
And I’m just saying a scholar like Quinton is in no position to criticize anyone and should just know when to stay quiet.

i used to have rampages number till i lost my old phone! he put it on myspace once just for people to leave messages, he never answered or anything.
and sorry but it was a dumb question. ANYBODY could’ve predicted what he was gonna say haha. it’s not like he’s gonna be like “aww ya got me! i tapped! good thing the ref didnt see!”
by AzCombat on Dec 29, 2008 11:28 PM EST up reply actions
Then maybe youre boy shouldnt tap next time then no one would have to ask his dumb ass if he tapped.

I thought he tapped, as soon as he did it I said to the wife “he just tapped did you see that” same thing against Sadollah, mind you I did not see the tap when he fought Amir while the fight was happening but can clearly see it in the replay.

i think he was just moving his hand but rampage is a funny mother fucker
by Jared on Dec 29, 2008 4:58 PM EST reply actions
Hah. I was taping it, and ended up re-watching it a few times, because my first reaction was also that he tapped.
It looked something like this: He gets caught in the choke, his right hand comes up and he either taps once very lightly or gets ready to tap, then realizes what he’s doing / what it’s going to look like and he makes a fist as quickly as he can to cover it up.
It could have been innocent – it wasn’t obvious enough to be definite – but it did look like a single tap.
by MattNY on Dec 29, 2008 4:59 PM EST reply actions
Without question, Rampage is the best quote in MMA. He makes me laugh every time (unless he’s running over people in delusional road rage).
by BobC on Dec 29, 2008 4:59 PM EST reply actions
Practice habit. No doubt that if he didn’t jump the gun he would have won the fight, he proved that. So this whole argument is about whether he accidently taps early or not. Its dumb because it has nothing to do with who is a better fighter when you get down to it.

massenzio should have been pulled from the fight. supposedly he tore his mcl while sprawling during warm ups in the dressing room before the fight. and he almost knocked cb out, and got him to tap. if you watch the tape again, massenzio loosens up on the choke after he thought cb tapped.
you guys hear mazagatti got fired? hopefully mike goldberg is next. dude is such a tool

Tap for sure and I’m a little surprised the ref didn’t see it. Forrest tapped for sure. Rashad got ripped off for the submission of the night. Mascenzio got ripped off on victory and bonus.

I can’t stand CB Tappaway, and I thought I saw a tap when watching the fight live on PPV. But since then I’ve watched it 10 more times, and can honestly say that I don’t think he did. It looked like he was going to panic for a split second, tapped Massenzio once, then changed his mind. Last time I checked, slapping a guy once, then stopping isn’t a tap. We (as CB haters) know that he was going to wimp out right away again, but in all definitions of “tapping”….he didn’t commit to the tap.

he did only tap once, but that is a clear-cut tapout imo. i think people have different views on this, but that sure looked like the same tap he used against amir. hankd has a great link to a gif of this above.
by b.w. on Dec 29, 2008 7:33 PM EST up reply actions
One tap is not a tapout…not at my gym anyway. Saying one tap, then the fights over, is not a good indicator of a guy throwing in the towel…this fight is a perfect example of that. At my gym…at least three taps is needed…that way you know the guy is tapping, without ANY question.

It wasn’t an accidental tap either. The guillotine was in, and it took him a second to pop up his right hand to tap.
by closb on Dec 29, 2008 7:14 PM EST reply actions
He tapped. At 3:50 of the fite. Watch the replay. This guy got lucky that the ref didnt see it. This time he tapped 3 times. Against amir he just tapped once.
by Hughes sux on Dec 29, 2008 8:04 PM EST reply actions
like rogan pointed out in the 2nd cb/amir fight, there’s no such thing as almost tapping or tapping once and then changing your mind, once you tap, you tap, it’s over. it’s too bad yves levine was at a bad angle at the time. i would like to hear yves opinion on the matter, after watching the replay.
by b.w. on Dec 29, 2008 8:30 PM EST reply actions
CB Dickaway definitely tapped. It may have only been two taps, but they are taps nonetheless. If Lavigne had been on the other side, I think he woould have stopped it. I think Mascenzio just didn’t feel it b/c he’s not as experienced or whatever, but it would have been interesting if he let go and ran around in victory. Then they’d have to go to a replay if allowable and if not, then the fight would go on and they’d really show it for sure at the end and CB would be found out again. It wasn’t just a brush on the guy’s side like many say, he actually tapped him two times in a row. NO matter half tap or “gentle” tap, he freakin tapped and he’s a pu$$y.
And as much as I like Forrest, he too did tap. I watched it over 3x and he clearly is tapping too, the other times he may have been flailing but he tapped. And whoever said how could he comment on tapping while also saying he didn’t even remember it is right, it’s contradictory and Joe hadn’t even asked yet about the tapping, so he was prepared. He pu$$ied out too and tapped.
After that fight I almost thought it was fixed, I mean how could he be doing so well and suddenly he’s in the guard and then get completely dominated like that? ANd he even admitted he had a lazy guard, hmmm..why?? It wasn’t like he was getting pounded over and over, he took way more of a beating from Tito and was really messed up but against Rashad suddenly he forgets how to control the body and keep a tight guard. I don’t buy it, I really don’t…he didn’t even seem upset like when he lost to Jardine. I thought Randy going down from Brock was suspect too, yeah it connected but just barely and suddenly the guy is out completely. I think building stars and rematches has more than meets the eye here. You can call me crazy but watch these fights over and see what will happen now w/ the UFC and future fights planned b/c of the current winners.
by theflyingtsunami on Dec 30, 2008 5:23 AM EST reply actions
I saw it live and thought the fight was over also. I can’t believe he’s done that twice now….once being with Amir saying he didn’t tap when he clearly did, this time with Massenzio.
I think people’s hypothesis that it is a natural reaction from training makes sense. He would tap if he was in training with a partner so it is just instinctual. He just naturally went to tap, forgetting that he was in a real fight. It is good that he caught it after only one really solid tap plus one follow up tap (hand stayed on body).
What defines a tap out to you guys? I know most people think two or three taps, some have said Pride rules was three taps to tap out. I think that you should tap two to three times to tap out to let the referee/fighter know you are serious but one tap is enough to technically be called a tap out. Sometimes, though, someone might do something that looks like a tap while they are trying to figure a way out of a move.
Also, what if in the Tito-Randy fight the referee called the fight when Couture spanked Tito? He technically was ‘tapping’, a spank is pretty much a tap. It definitely wasn’t a punch. Obviously I know he was just joking around and didn’t tap out, just providing an example.
by joseph.67 on Dec 30, 2008 10:50 AM EST reply actions
Sorry, but who cares? If Dollaway didn’t tap, Massenzio should have choked him out, and we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
by Brandon B on Dec 30, 2008 2:55 PM EST reply actions
Ok so what’s the bid deal CB Tapaway seems to have the Fake Tap down to a science and if get an opponent to lossen up (which it will) all the better for CB.
In the future if you happen to go up against CB and you feel him tapping like a broken engine valve just break his neck, knee, arm or leg, or whatever don’t give him a chance to say he wasn’t in any trouble and didn’t tap.
Maybe this way he will remember.
