Haha! Mir and Nog look cute together!
Nog, Grippo and Quint could get u some cash. Im sure they’ll put Rampage as an underdog.

READ MANIACS

A friend of mine that i train with is very much in the no with the UK MMA scene. He told me to bet BIG on Wanderlei. He was knocking around with Rampage at a UK event and he looked a shell of his former self.

Still not recovered from his ‘episode’ he was completely out of sorts and away with the faries.

Don’t believe the interviews and quotes, he is not fully recovered.

Bet big on Wand if you weren’t already.

Take this info for what you want but don’t be surprised when he goes all Filho on us.

NickJ – your buddies havin a laugh, the only reason rampage is a bit of a shell… is because hes been worked to his limits, new limits he didnt know were there. He’ll be ready, you can bet on that, but it would be a bad move to bet on a guy on a mission. REVENGE from rampage is bound to be dished out cold

by Insain on Dec 24, 2008 8:37 AM EST up reply actions

Stink is absolutely correct! NO one loves wanderlei more then me, but I am telling you right now, that Rampage is going to win this fight! I promise!

As a betting man, I am betting my hOUSE on NOgueira and calling it a night! THat fight is a lock, dont let the odds scare u away from betting it. Ride MInotauro all the way to the BANK!!!! No need to bet the other fightgs. Nog isn’t going to loose to this chump!

This match up reminds me of the movie the great white Hype. UFC marketing team has created Mir as a good fighter. BS!!!!! I dont know if he is even top 20 in the world of HW! What a joke! The whole HW division is a Joke, having NOG as champion is the only thing that makes it somewhat Legit!

by john on Dec 24, 2008 10:24 AM EST up reply actions

Mir is soooooo shook! What a BIatch! In all the Mir interviews he has conducted in the past 4 months, the only thing he could think of that he is better then Nog in is:

“I can Jump HIgher then him”! LMAO….Mir is an idiot who doesnt deserve to be on the big stage with all these great fighters!

by john on Dec 24, 2008 10:26 AM EST up reply actions

I’m trying to insult you, I respect the fact you got the balls to make some of the bets you make. I’m just riding your badluck and Rampage being a loonie now so im all in on Wandy no doubt. I agree with all your bets except rampage and I see Lister taking the UD. WAR RASHAD

by BMO on Dec 24, 2008 10:38 AM EST up reply actions

Wanderlei is taking this one just like the other two, I have no clue why everyones talking like he’s washed up or out classed here; the guys 32 years old, it’s prime time; everyone’s talking about the wolfs lair and Rampage’s new training and how he’s gotten so much better. No one bothers to mention Wanderlei’s training with extreme Couture sparring with Forrest Griffin, learning wrestling techniques from Couture or speculating on an improved all around game for the Axe Murderer. You guys are sleeping on Wandi; big mistake, I see this being very detrimental to a lot of fat wallets out there… I don’t think the guy learned english, moved to Vegas and opened his own gym here in the US to lose, imo beating Wanderlei right now is going to be very difficult for anyone if not damn near impossible.

by BMO on Dec 24, 2008 11:14 AM EST up reply actions

With regards to my above comment, like i said take that info for what you want but i have placed my bet (and i’m not even a betting man).

I respect a lot of other peoples opinions on here but not as much as i respect my source who was up close and personal with Rampage for 2 hours.

I saw him in the gym a couple of days ago and asked him what his picks are for 92. He said before he spent the night with Rampage and the Wolfslair lot (no not that type of ‘spent the night’ children!) he would have backed Rampage all the way. But he said he was timid and glazed over, as if he was on serious meds or something.

PS Nog is gonna kill Mir, almost can’t be bothered to comment on it, its so obvious.

PPS I know i’m sad for being on here christmas day but its either that or go back to my girlfriend showing me all her lovely new makeup!

Happy christmas all, bet on Rampage at your peril!

by Nick J on Dec 25, 2008 6:52 AM EST up reply actions

I have said for a while that this fight is simply BAD NEWS for Rampage. Stinky, I gotta disagree with you on this one. There is a massive difference between being a touch off center/goofy (like he used to appear), and mentally imbalanced (or whatever he was when he screwed up not too long ago). IMO, Silva is going to beat him like he owed him money..

So I was thinking…I think a great fight in the heavyweight division would be Antoni Hardonk and Cheik Kongo. Hardonk has some great stand up and so does Kongo.

by RyanHobbs on Dec 24, 2008 4:24 AM EST up reply actions

For as big and athletic as Kongo looks, he seems kinda gun shy to me; wtf was he doing in the Heath Herring fight, going for take downs and trying to wrestle?? The guy isn’t aggressive enough imo, he might win fights and all but except for a couple KO’s he’s kinda boring.

Wandi by ref stoppage – hammer fist sub
Forrest by sub – arm bar
All I know this will be a great way to end 2008! War Dana.

Mir subs nogueira u are crazy or smoking crack

by Chuco on Dec 24, 2008 12:47 AM EST up reply actions

I think a submission for either fighter (assuming one doesn’t gas) is pretty far fetched. I would lean towards Mir gassing over Nog but Mir could easily prove me wrong. He’d love to get the title back and he has probably trained like crazy for this fight.

by RyanHobbs on Dec 24, 2008 4:27 AM EST up reply actions

technically Mir has the better build for a submission guy (not saying he’s better at subs or has a better ground game in anyway). I definatley give Mir more of a shot than most; I think Nog will take it, but I think it will be a highly competitive fight.

by O Damn he got caught on Dec 24, 2008 11:34 AM EST up reply actions

Page will take it, hes grown so much as a fighter since 2004-2005 so theres now doubt about it wanderlei is facing a new rampage and is goin to get rampaged and knocked out

by Jared on Dec 23, 2008 11:31 PM EST reply actions

evans by KO!!

wandi by TKO rnd 2!!

noguiera 3/4th round stoppage!!

This is just a great card I’m so jealous!!
Also Kongo is one of my fav fighters, I see him by Ko in round2!

Can anyone say if dos santos v heath herring is a possible for ufc95?

Also Luis Cain v Houston Alexander?? it would just make the card a little more appealing, still no huge names though!!

by mo on Dec 23, 2008 11:47 PM EST reply actions

Put rampages name on the cheque for knockout of the night and put nog on the submission of the night cheque. Rampage’s stand up is far supiour to what it was when they first fought, wandy is gonna be in for a surprise if he thinks he will win a stand up war.

by Sean M on Dec 23, 2008 11:53 PM EST reply actions

my picks:

rashad by decision
rampage by ko
nog by rocking mir then finishing him on the ground with strikes and maybe finalizing it with a choke

I dont care who wins the other two Rampage WILL redeem him self this weekend.

by R.E.S on Dec 24, 2008 12:07 AM EST reply actions

I’ll tell you what WON’T happen:

Mir by submission, KO, TKO, or decision

Forrest by KO

Rampage by submission

OK everyone knows that Rampage wouldn’t sub Wandy. I think Wandy wins by KO or TKO. If it goes to decision, I’d also give the edge to Wanderlei, unless Rampage takes him down and squeeks out a decision. There’s no knees or kicks to the head of a downed opponent anymore, so Page can forget about that.

I don’t think Mir has the gas to go 5 rounds, and Nog most certainly does. Everything that Mir does well, Nog does at least a little bit better. I’ve tried, and barring some freak circumstance, I can’t think of a plausible scenario that MIr wins this one. At least 9 times out of 10, Nog takes it.

As far as Forrest and Rashad, I don’t know how to pick this one. Forrest has reach on Rashad, but Rashad may have better wrestling, and Forreasts defense on the ground is very good. If there is a KO, it will come from Raschad. Forrest just doesn’t seem to have the punching power to knock anyone of Rashad’s caliber out. I think this one is going to go to decision, but its a pretty tough one to call. Thoughts anyone?

mir by some lucky ass submission rd2

by iann on Dec 24, 2008 12:34 AM EST reply actions

wand doesn’t fight with the same intensity he did a few years ago. rampage needs to finish him if he hurts him and i think he will early in the fight with something huge. nog has slowed down as well but is still a beast. mir is like the mad scientist of the heavyweight divison. he is one of the more intelligent fighters out there but he will always be a big question mark for me as far as which mir is gonna show up physically. his win over lesnar was impressive because he was getting stomped and he kept his composure and showed the technique of a master. i think mir’s plan is to play the points game with nog and use his ground sqills to nullify nogs or perhaps even catch him in a early sub if nog gets to agressive. forrest and rashad will be interesting but i see it being a lot like the forrest rampage figt. i think rampage is actually a more dangerous fight for forrest but rahad has better defense for the low kicks and probably shoots for takedowns a little quicker. i’ll give the nod to rashad because of his training camp and his confidence. i’ve never seen anyone take his confidence from him. plus i think forrest will cry like a baby if he loses and im the kind of jerk who loves to watch that sort of thing.

by jonsey on Dec 24, 2008 12:35 AM EST reply actions

no one has beaten Rashad, thats why no one has taken his confidence away….wait until the first time he gets laid out like Chuck or Jardine or Houston….ect ect. he will crumble. The test of a man is how you bounce back from defeat…we have yet to see how Rashad will handle a loss.

by Chadx23 on Dec 24, 2008 10:45 AM EST up reply actions

i think rashad will take it but im pullin for forrest just cuz its his 1st title defense. i think forrest can take him to a decision and win. As far as mir and nog i think nog will win but it would be the shit if mir won and Rampage will be victorious. and that will set up the 4th episode

by R.E.S on Dec 24, 2008 12:40 AM EST reply actions

How come on UFC Countdown last night, they spent more time on Mir than Forrest and Evans combined???wtf…They gave him too much air time. I pick Wandy, even though he came off the show cocky and arrogant. I didn’t see a hunger in him, more like he thinks he’ll breeze by Rampage just bc he’s beatin him twice…

Rampage didn’t even give him a good staredown, usually Rampage looks serious or give mean staredowns, this time he just kinda put his head back with a smirk like "whats up"….Wanderlei is in Rampage’s head. I like Wanderlei and want him to win, but Rampage is a cool guy too and would like to see him win so it can maybe boost his broken confidence a little. Good luck to both of those guys, they will need it!

Hey, just thought of this! What if this fight goes to a decision just like Chuck/Wanderlei did last year when noone expected it to and everyone thought it would end in a KO!?? just a thought….

I love both these guys I just dont see Mir having the stamina to go deep enough into to this fight to beat NOG. NOG can go and go and go where as Mirs condtioning has always been suspect. I think Mir can submit almost anyone, I just dont see him having the gas to go were this fight will end up, which unless NOG wins early this fight will go to a 4th or 5th round were Mir gases and then loses. My money goes to Nog on this one!!!!

by the spyder on Dec 25, 2008 1:21 PM EST reply actions

rampage, nog, and evans

rampage looked nervous at the press conference. rampage fights better nervous. last time he was nervous was for the chuck fight.

nog will take it if he can get past the first 3 minutes. mir will gas and not be able to rip anything off after they both get sweaty.

evan’s mma game is quickly becoming the tightest of all tuf alum. he is much faster than forrest. also, evans will be ready for the leg kicks since he trains with jardine. forrest’s only chance is to turn it into a boxing match and establish his jab early.
