UFC 96 tickets Nationwide Arena Ohio for March 7 event on sale soon

Happy holidays, Ohio-area fight fans.
UFC 96 tickets for the annual pay-per-view (PPV) event that coincides with the Arnold EXPO — the largest health and fitness expo in the nation — will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, December 27.
UFC Fight Club members and UFC Newsletter subscribers, naturally, will be able to scoop up tickets for the show at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus prior to them being available for public consumption.
It will be the fourth major UFC event to be held in the "Buckeye State" since the promotion invaded Ohio for the first time ever in March 2007.
While no bouts have been announced to date, heavyweights Shane Carwin and Gabriel Gonzaga are expected to collide and light heavyweight Brandon Vera will look to get back on the winning track against area native Mike Patt.
In addition, former 205-pound champion Chuck Liddell has expressed his interest to rematch Keith Jardine on this date. And don't be surprised to see Brazilian jiu-jitsu welterweight wizard Dustin Hazellett continue his rise to division contender status in front of his hometown fans.
Here is the UFC 96 tickets sales schedule (all times are ET):
UFC Fight Club presale: Wednesday, December 24 at 10 a.m.
UFC Newsletter presale: Friday, December 26 at 10 a.m.
General tickets sale: Saturday, December 27 at 10 a.m.
UFC 96 tickets can be purchased through StubHub.com (Note: StubHub often has seats available even if the event is "sold out"). It will also be available to watch on PPV for $44.95 on fight night.

Dustin Hazlett vs Mike Swick….good fight

I was doing some reading this morning and I found something interesting that I knew nothing about.
CB Dolloway gets paid by his trainers to train: Arizona combat team or whatever its called. This is great for young fighters that are not making that much money in the UFC (entry level fighters). Camps paying its fighters allows them to train full time even if they arent making that much money from the actual fights. I thinks its great that some camps do this sort of thing.
Anyone know if other camps do this sort of thing? Is this rare, or does it happen generally and we just dont get to hear about it?

Its sad we know more about this card than we do about the 95 card!!
I seriously think most of these guys should be fighting in London!! After the 27th dec, there are huge fights available that could be on this card…
brock v nog/mir
griffin/evans v wandi/rampage/thiago/machida
coture v nog/mir
Im just hoping Dana has something up his sleeve for the London card cos diego v stevenson doesnt cut it!!
This is a good fight though, ifitstays on the feet, swick if it goesto the ground Hazlett!!Quite simple lol

I would be pissed to if I was a UK fan! Let the man VENT!!!!
what I dont understand is why doesnt the UFC feature Anderson Silva in England? American Audiences are so damn ignorant that Anderson isnt much of a draw in the states. If Anderson was fighting in England, u better believe the British fans will be all riled up to see him fight! Silva is a big star in England, after all he was the cage rage champion. If He isnt going to be a big draw in the states, let him be a MEGA Star in England!

Personally, I think Mclovin would outclass Swick!
Dustin’s stand up gets better and better and he is just so damn technical on the ground.
From a gambling point of view: would Swick be the favorite?
by john on Dec 23, 2008 8:44 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
yes swick would be the favorite, he is 8-1 in the ufc and is coming off a very fast and impressive ko

Wow, I’m surprised Rich Franklin isn’t fighting on this card, but I guess that’s because he’s not the champ anymore. It always seems like the UFC goes out of their way to ensure the title holders & UFC Stars sleep in their own beds before & after the fight. Franklin, St. Pierre, Tito (but he wasn’t the champ), Houston Alexander (twice), Lesnar…who’s next? It just seems pretty lame.

Or it’s because he’s fighting at UFC 93, and if he wins that he’ll be coaching on TUF9. If he loses at 93, there’s a chance he could be on the card.
How is it lame to have fighters fight in their own towns? It’s better for the UFC to showcase star fighters in their own hometowns. It certainly helps when they’re marketing the shows in those towns, as well.

Its not lame, its smart business… people want to see the home town hero!!

I dont know why, but all week I have been thinking about DReam match ups between MMa fighters vs. K-1 fighters. I guess these thoughts are influenced over my uncle bringing me the k-1 vs. Pride shockwave 2002 dvd that he had to purchase for me in Japan. That event featured a few mma vs. K-1 fights like Big Nog vs. Bob Sapp.
So I have been thinking about dream match ups between mma vs. K-1. Here are 2 bad ass match ups I would give my right nut to see:
Kid Yammamotto vs. Bukaw Por Pramuk
Melvin Manhoeff vs. Wanderlei Silva!
Anderson vs. Hari

Correction: Gilbert Yvel as NOT been cleared to fight in the states as of yet! He has a meeting with the athletic commisioner early in the new year and that meeting will determine weather Gilbert gets licensed to fight.
Once again, Tom Atencio ran his mouth to soon and I think it may have pissed of the commision!
