"Dear Fans,
In 2003 and in 2004 I won the K-1 Grand Prix. There I had tears in my eyes, because I was happy to win. Winning with a DQ is very disappointing to me because I worked hard for the final and that's why I had tears this time. I hope that this will be a lesson to all the ring fighters, if you can't stick to rules, don't play the game."
-Winner of the K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 Remy Bonjasky gives MMAmania.com a message for his fans - and K-1 bad boy Badr Hari - regarding his controversial disqualification win over Hari in the 2008 GP finals. Hari pulled Bonjasky to the ground in the second round and seemed to lose control of himself, pummeling the downed opponent and even trying to stomp on Bonjasky’s face. Bonjasky was allowed five minutes to recover but was still seeing double after the time elapsed and the referee called the match. A bizarre and unfortunate ending to an otherwise spectacular event. No question these two will meet again somewhere down the road.
