dana white would probably disagree that this is the most anicipated hW fight in the history…

He would also dispute the claim that winning would make Arlovski the ‘undisputed HW champion of the world’. And on both counts I think he’d be right. I don’t think this fight is very anticipated amongst casual fans. My roommate is a casual fan who watches some UFC events with me and he didn’t even know this fight was happening. I think this is a great fight that needs to happen, but I was more excited for the fights between him and Crocop and him and Nogueira.

Fedor beat both guys GregC? This fight is one of the most exciting for me in this class

I like Arloviski but i do not see him beating Fedor ever onless fedor is 50 years old and Arlovski is in his prime but i am looking foward to this match but think burrnet vs fedor would be a better fight

Your roommate is not a casual fan he just watches UFC only.
Whether your roommate is aware of it or not Fedor is the most exciting fighter and even though people try and hold him back and dispute it he will eventually get the full credit he deserves.
He destroys Tim Sylvia in 38 seconds and is now fighting the toughest HW fighter the UFC had to offer until Nog turned up (who he has already BATTERED twice!).
Come Jan 24th Fedor will furthermore solidify himself as the #1 P4P fighter and go one more step to proving he is the most devastating mixed martial artist the world may ever see.
GO FEDOR!!!

I would argue that casual fan and UFC fan are one and the same, at least in the US. I know numerous people who consider themselves ‘MMA fans’ and watch only the UFC, and I would consider them to be casual fans. In my experience, at least here in the US, most people think that MMA = UFC. I certainly agree with everything you said about Fedor, but I think you might overestimate the ‘casual fan’

not the most anticipated hw fight but one that needs to happen. If fedor wins theres only one more hw fighter he needs to get through to clean out the division. Barnett.

Good luck Fedor, you’re going to need it in this one. The pitbull’s going make your embarrassing Sambo loss look like a good day out for you.

I agree I dont think fedor has fought a top 10 heavyweight in years (I dont think tim silvia is top 10 anymore)I think arlovski takes this fight and I like fedor I just think he is the most overated fighter on the planet

Just wait and see what ? When Fedor destroys Andrei ? Is that what you want me to see? Than fine, I can wait.

for me, this is the most anticipated match up that’s been in a while as far as the heavies go. i expect this fight to start with major fireworks as fedor has been quoted as saying that his main objective in any of his battles is to end the fight as quickly as possible. with his hand speed and exellent foot movement, in my mind arlovski will be the greatest stand up challenge ever presented to fedor. he (arlovski) has displayed a suspect chin in the past, however, and it seems to have made him gun shy on occasion in some fights. but there is no don’t that andrei is treating this fight as paramount to to any other he has had before and will be prepared to try and dictate the pace, choose his shots and blah blah blah. i don’t know about you, but there’s something about watching the as of yet unbeaten get toppled, and while all respect is given to fedor, i would love to see arlovski’s arm being raised at the end of this one.
by arthurzero on Dec 20, 2008 1:25 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
good luck with that one buddy!
Affliction 2 “Animal Cruelty”
Fedor = Mike Vick
Arlovski = Pitbull
Any questions?
Arlovski is going to try and be light on his feet and bounce around at the beginning, then Fedor will open up with a lightning fast right straight or a devastating (left hand) lead hand hook (best lead hand hook in all of mma, by fAR), and Arlovski will break Mentally right then and there! Fedor is just too strong, and hits to hard and fast. If it goes to the ground, Andre will get embarrassed!
Lets be honest, Come fight time, Arlovski will be shook, he will have doubts! Did you see Tim Sylvia’s face when he was in the ring with Fedor? He looked like he wanted to cry! Andre isnt as strong as he once was mentally, and when you fight Fedor there will be plenty of doubts and butterflies before the fight….With that said, Andre is going to have to stare across the ring and look at this ice cold, cyborg with an Aura that exceeds Tyson’s in his prime!
The mental game is very important in a fight, and thats why I dont give Andre a chance. He will be at a disadvantage mentally from the get go….Andre will lose this fight before the bell even rings!
Still it is the biggest HW title fight since 2005 when Fedor fought cro cop in his prime! None of those BS Randy couture fights that the UFC tries to promotoe will come close to being as big as this fight! If this fight were taking place in the Octagon, can u imagine what Dana would be saying?

Excellent burn john. This fight doesnt come down to intangibles. It’s all about skills and Fedor is better everywhere. In fact after his loss in Sambo, he has to look dominant so he won’t mess around coleman style. He’ll just beat the piss out of him then sub him. Also what’s with guys who are clearly gonna get raped by their opponents trying to be hollywood. Arlovski, BJ, soon enough Couture.
by NameNotRequired on Dec 20, 2008 2:57 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Andrei is as strong mentally as I have ever seen him. If you had watched any of his recent interviews you would see that he is not scared. He is also confident after Fedor’s recent loss. And he knows he is bigger and more athletic. To say he has no chance is ignorant, in fact I believe the chances are even for both. Andrei will counter with rights down the middle and with his reach advantage he will score first. I can’t wait for the last episode of 360 to see AA celebrate being the number 1 heavyweight in the world.
by theCloser on Dec 20, 2008 3:01 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Fedor is so ahead of all the other heavyweights that even if he loses, he will probably stay ranked #1. THen again, NO CHANCE that he loses, so who cares!
by john on Dec 20, 2008 5:28 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Wow, Affliction is high off there ass if they think this type of promotion with low rent Morgan Freeman narration is going to convince anyone.
Anyway. Fedor is great fighter, but Arlovski wins this fight via viscious, VISCIOUS knockout. Styles make fights. Arlovski right now is the best opponent Fedor has ever faced. Fedor is the first to admit he’s not the best fighter on the planet. I agree with him.

i think this is just an introduction to the series and the other six will be the good stuff. plus i don’t think affliction has anything to do with this production, but rather it’s being made by the people on his website arlovski.com
by ActionJackson on Dec 20, 2008 2:19 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I’m hoping for a god fight but there is no doubt that Fedor will trash Arlovski.
by Jono on Dec 20, 2008 1:55 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Arlovski couldnt even beat Tim Silvia, Fedor beat him in seconds.
surely that would suggest Arlovski has no chance?
by ben on Dec 20, 2008 2:11 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
andrei beat tim just as fast as fedor did in their first fight actually
by ActionJackson on Dec 20, 2008 2:17 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
i hope andrei has been training off his back, he didn’t look too good on the ground against nelson. i dont think the bullshit standup by the ref saved him, but it sure helped

Fedor will win by a quick submission.
by Lester the Pimp on Dec 20, 2008 2:40 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
As much as I want to see AA win this fight just to bring all the Fedor nuts suckers back to earth, I dont think hes gonna get it done. His only chance is to keep the fight on its feet but i think fedor will relize real quick that hes out matched standing and will take AA down and pound him out.

FEDOR WILL OVERWHELM ANDREI ITHIN 3 MINUTES. THIS IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT HW FIGHT IN AGES NUMBER 1 VS NUMBER 3, AND FEDORS ALREADY BEAT NUMBER 2 (NOG) AND WILL THEN BEAT 4 (BARNETT)AND THEN FEDOR WILL BE ONCE AND FOR ALL BE RECOGNISED AS THE GREATEST MMA FIGHTR OF ALL TIME!!!!!
by Horndog on Dec 20, 2008 3:49 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
This is the best heavy title I’ve seen in MMA. It is a toss up, but I think AA is ready to shock the world. Defending a belt is always more difficult than winning one. I will be buying this fight. I want to see Barnett and hometown boy Dan Lauzon.

Easily the best HW match up in history!
by DownUnder on Dec 20, 2008 5:40 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
some of you guy’s dont understand…MMA math does not work
fighters lose to different fighters in mma
example
chuck beat wand
keith beat chuck
wand murderd keith
rampage beat chuck
rampage lost to wand twice
chuck beat wand
see
fighters may lose to differnt style
and aa just beat ben rothwell two feet away from death and koed roy nelson and rothwell and those guys have pretty good records in wins, don’t underestimate him. AA isin his prime, but im rooting for fedor
by dk on Dec 20, 2008 5:44 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
AA has a punchers chance thats about it. Either way its a great matchup even so. Its by far the most anticipated HW matchup in years, if dana white had these guys fighting for him as someone said above………Lets just say Dana White’s head would explode with excitement and Rogan’s would probably implode LOL!
O yeah and Dana white+Rogan+who ever else works at the UFC will be ordering this.
by Khaos_Warrior on Dec 20, 2008 6:31 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Most people expect fedor to win, but how about this: Fedor always keeps his hands pretty low before he explodes with looping punches. Arlovski has great speed and power, if his right straight cross connects the figth is over.
If it hits the mat…fedor all the way, but standing up its an open fight. Lets not hope arlovski gets gunshy and only tries to defend the takedown
by jorgen on Dec 20, 2008 8:23 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I’m pulling for AA all the way. He’s got a great chance for sure. It’ll be nice the day Fedor’s little streak ends.

Personally I think any Fedor fight is highly anticipated. Im not sure what people are thinking but Fedor will destroy Barnett as well.
by the spyder on Dec 20, 2008 11:31 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
dam right – why do people hype barnett – the only reason Fedor hasnt fought him is cuz the baby is an average joe heavyweight with hardly any marketability – sure he was the ufc champ, but thats out the window after testing poitive

why is he a piece of shit? Are you one of those hairless freaks that never finished puberty and a beard is only a dream? your page name is Vince McMahon and you got the nerve to call someone a dirtball. does no one else see to irony? MORON!!!

its a joke, the people on here who think AA will get man handled on the ground dont know anything – the ufc put him against 2 solid BJJ guys – he dealt with both of them without any hassle at all. he made mince meat of obrian the wrestler – AA will not fold if this goes to the ground.
I dont want to see any of these guys loose – Fedor is a legend with an unbelievable record – but AA’s my top dog n it makes me sick watching him loose. Im not rooting for anyone – i hope its a draw.
by Insain on Dec 21, 2008 10:16 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
that was a nice video. arlovski hasnt really got any spotlight since he lost to big tim. i give the edge to fedor. i dont think arlovski looked that good in his last fight. he definatley got helped out by a questionabler standup. this will be a good fight, arlovski has more than a punchers chance.
by COR on Dec 21, 2008 4:39 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Don’t underestimate Andrei in this fight. In my opinion no one has a better chance to beat Fedor than Andrei.
I don’t think Fedor has fought anyone as athletic and as quick as Andrei so for sure the first minute or two will be really interesting to see how things pan out. Andrei has the best takedown defense of all the heavyweights I can think of. With that being said I still see Fedor as a solid favourite but if it stays on the feet Andrei can win this. I could see Fedor getting a foot trip or sweep of sorts from the clinch and then the fight is in his territory. I really can’t wait for this one.
