UFC Quick Quotes: 'Tis the season to get into a fight

"I never really liked the holidays anyway."

-- Forrest Griffin

"I’ve been in camp for about seven weeks now. I guess all the holidays have kind of lost their significance. It’s going to be sad that I’m not going to be there with my kids and everything, cause I really look forward to that. It’s just going to be another day and then we’ll celebrate later on."

-- Rashad Evans

"They’re going to come see me on the 25th and everything. Then we’ll celebrate Christmas afterwards. It’s all good, it’s my job. All my kids know what dad does — I’m a fighter. That’s the job that God gave me."

-- Quinton "Rampage" Jackson

-- Several UFC 92 fighters talk via the Las Vegas Sun about training for their respective fights, which take place just two days after Christmas on December 27. It appears that most are not focused on the holiday season and will likely celebrate when the lights go down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena ... some more than others.

It goes with the territory. There are troops much further away from home than these guys, and in greater danger. God bless to all this holiday season.

Rashad and Rampage will get ass whoopings for Christmas. Just hide the energy drinks from Rmapage and hide his car keys after he gets dismantled by Wandy again.

by the_mexicutioner on Dec 17, 2008 11:49 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

I would like to give Rampage his car keys, actually. Maybe this time he will drive off a cliff. Fu*k You Rampage!

LOL… I still can’t believe he never came out with an apology for what he did. That was right by my house and could have been my wife and kids he almost killed. I will never care about him, not that I did before.

by BNF on Dec 17, 2008 12:28 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

wandy will “beat him off” for you, the UFC that is

by brendan on Dec 17, 2008 1:26 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I agree with you 100% BNF. I usually do, anyways, tho. haha

I have a daughter too, so I felt the exact same way. Hes not a real man, or a man of god, if he cant even apologize for what he did. Fuckin own up to it Rampage. I hope Wandy destroys you again. No falling thru the ropes this time, its straight to the canvas.

He’s done anyway.

Yeah its just a make believe holiday anyway. Lets get to celebrating Veterans day like we do Christmas and then I’ll get into the holiday spirit.

by sp00ner1234 on Dec 17, 2008 11:51 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

how much research have you put into this conclusion: “make believe holiday?”

Jesus probably was not born in dec. but His life is well documented and affirmed by scholars (many debate whether He is the Son of Man.) What we have turned Christmas into is quite unfortunate much like the respect we give our Veterans.

Uh oh… Rampage is talking about God again. God help you when Wandi is smashing in your face.

Its sad that its “cool” to not care about Christmas anymore.
Can you believe it that you can’t even say Merry Christmas to people because they might be offended? You’re supposed to say happy holidays instead, lol.

Talk about destruction of western culture.

by Lester the Pimp on Dec 17, 2008 12:00 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I’m not trying to offend anyone here but I think its crap that people are getting pissed about the merry christmas thing. Is it so unbelievable that there are religions out there other than Christianity? I don’t think people should get mad either way. I don’t believe in God but I don’t get offended when people tell me god bless you after i sneeze. At the same time if you know someone is Jewish it is ignorant to wish them a merry christmas. Both sides of that argument need to get bent

by sp00ner1234 on Dec 17, 2008 12:10 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I could care less period! The only reason I celebrate is for my son. Not that it’s uncool, I’m just not a festive person! when I tell my wife I don’t want for or need anything,I mean it. When she tells me she needs and wants bigger diamond earrings, she means it too…go figure!

by kevin on Dec 17, 2008 1:12 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

do you still tell your son that santa exists?

by brendan on Dec 17, 2008 3:47 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

of course! I’m not totally heartless. there are very few people (handful tops) that I really care about, obviously my son is one. I’m very “hard/cold” and I love the fact that my son is so innocent! The things he says (at 6) is great! I’m a very loving and caring dad/husband, although sometimes not too empathetic towards my wife! I got issues man!! lol!

Ageed – Our Constitution, if applied correctly, protect these rights and people need to be more open minded.

by TapedUpPair on Dec 17, 2008 1:28 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

you’re right, I’m not into the whole PC movement! one of the ones that bothers me most is “african american.” I’ve had this talk with some of my buddies who are black and they agree with me, they’re black, they’ve never been to africa, never going to africa, they’re americans. all the “races” want to stick with their “heritage,” but they’re american. And to the guy who asked me if his swedish friend born in germany was german…yes! His birth certificate reads germany, he’s german!

what if a cat was born at sea(on a boat) does that make it a fish??

if it were born in the water…yes!

by kevin on Dec 17, 2008 5:07 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

but dolphins are born at sea not on a boat and their not classed as fish

I don’t think anyone’s saying it’s “cool” to not care about christmas or holidays; some people don’t have a lot of family or any family to celebrate those days with. Yea for a lot of people next thursday is Christmas, for some of us its just Thursday thats how it is.

by O damn he got caught on Dec 17, 2008 12:26 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Lol I’m pretty sure nobody said its cool. But now that you say that I’m going to go crazy and stop celebrating Christmas because its cool. For Christmas this year I’d like stupid people to shut the fuck up for a day. Hell, I’ll even stop talking just in case. :P

by Cogito Ergo Sum on Dec 18, 2008 8:52 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

forrest is a downer. he’ll probably kill himself after rashad pounds his little noggin off the matt the way jardine did.

by jonsey on Dec 17, 2008 12:07 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

hopefully he won’t cry and run away again

by McArthur on Dec 17, 2008 12:48 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

did anyone else notice how tim cradeur now fights like forrest except he’s more effective. forrest must be starting his own style. i think he should call it gbfs… goof ball fighting systems.

by jonsey on Dec 17, 2008 12:16 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

yeah but timmy had some of the sloppiest striking ive seen and he had his chin right up the whole match. when forest isnt going forward he atleast has his chin tucked.

Rampage won’t lose this time.

by Diceman on Dec 17, 2008 1:36 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Am I the only one who has no interest in seeing another Wanderlei/Rampage fight? A Wanderlei Silva/Chuck Liddell rematch is what I want to see!

by justagirl on Dec 17, 2008 5:49 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

No you are not the only one justagirl, I actually don’t care for this matchup. I would rather see Page fight Shogun while Wandy fight Houston (since Houston beat Jardine). Should Page and Wandy meet again it should be for the belt. I would like to see a rematch between Chuck and Wandy as I believe Wandy, while he fought tough, did not fight smart at all. I know he has a better sprawl game than what he showed against Chuck. To be honest this whole card is going to be a snooze fest. Big Nog vs Mir Boring! Rashad vs Forrest, that will be a bicylefest and Rampage vs Wandy not necessary yet. If Page wins then Wandy is 1-2 in his last three fights. Seems like the economics of that situation does bode well for Wandy. He would have to drop down to 185 and be the new Rich Franklin of the middleweights.

by TheSaint on Dec 17, 2008 6:22 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Im surprised wandy is even giving rampage the oppurtunity to even fight him again ! Maybe Rampage has something new up his sleeve, he better ! Other then that the forrest is gettin chopped down and plans for Nog vs Lesnar will be set in motion unless a hail mary is answered for Mir for Christmas ( i.e. K.O.)
