UFC 92 videos: Forrest Griffin and Frank Mir interviews at Spike TV Video Game Awards (Update)
Do your best to tune out the interviewer if at all possible. Check out what Frank Mir has to say about "his hero" after the jump.
UPDATE: Unreal dance video of several UFC fighters on stage with LL Cool J, too. Speechless.
So they think they can dance:

LOL, b.dub. They were all dancing together? The picture in my head is the funniest/most embarrassing/gayest thing ever.
by BNF on Dec 16, 2008 1:10 PM EST up reply actions
Thanks b.w. I was hoping it was just some lame joke by a forum troll. I can’t in good conscience watch two of my favorite fighters be forced to play along to such stupidity. Dana is good a whoring himself out at these things but when he makes icons of our sport do it…(shakes head)

The one time someone actually ASKS Rashad to dance, and he doesn’t do it.

did anyone hear the interviewer say “youre obviously a pound for pound fighter” wtf does that mean?
by brendan on Dec 16, 2008 1:38 PM EST up reply actions
The only thing obvious about her was that she knows little about MMA. Is it possible to be more generic? I loved Griffin’s answer to her “What do you do to prepare for a fight?” question. He say’s “I usually train….” LOL.

You’re right Mania, the interviewer is like “totally” annoying. Gotta love Forrest and Mir is a good promoter
by Don on Dec 16, 2008 12:06 PM EST reply actions
Yeah Forrest clearly didn’t want to listen to her voice either. She is definitely not designed for this work.
by GregC on Dec 16, 2008 1:10 PM EST up reply actions
how bout forrest “i went from sleeping on a mattress in my friends living room, now hes sleeping on a mattress in my spare bedroom, big timing” lol!
by brendan on Dec 16, 2008 1:39 PM EST up reply actions
he should have talked like that during the tuf series

being from the UK those girls/womens accent sounds so slutty.
by Tony on Dec 16, 2008 12:20 PM EST reply actions
it’s a valley girl accent but it’s the tone of her voice that is even more annoying
by quidnunc on Dec 16, 2008 12:30 PM EST up reply actions
LOL, even though I have to agree, that is funny because I have often thought the same about girls with British accents. Maybe it is just being hopeful. :)

what the heck is she trying to say at 1:08 with Mir? and does she really not know who Mir and Griffin are fighting or is she just getting them to say it?
by JB on Dec 16, 2008 12:20 PM EST reply actions
Worst interviewer EVER!!!!!!!! She is just all over the place.
by Tha_pimp_man on Dec 16, 2008 12:32 PM EST reply actions
dude it’s the video game awards. wtf do you expect? she’s not going to be an expert on every single guests’ subject
by Anthony on Dec 16, 2008 10:29 PM EST up reply actions
Like OMG!! That chick, is so, I don’t know…Like pound for pound interviewer and like she is so like baaaad.?!
Frank Mir is cool. A lot of you guys bust on him pretty bad but from all the interviews that I’ve seen, the fact that he’s come back from a terrible car crash and submitted the Current Heavyweigh Champ ;) I think that the end of this month he may surprise a lot of people.
by Freddy on Dec 16, 2008 1:06 PM EST reply actions
Tyop…I mean typo. He was f*cked up, as evidenced by his first 2 fights back. Now, not so messed up. Looks good, sounds good. Hope he fights good too.

Did anyone hear when she tells Mir “yeah very Spiritual”? so ridiculous
by Don on Dec 16, 2008 1:10 PM EST reply actions
Evil John, I don’t thim Mir is Scared, after all he said he can run faster, Jump higher and he is 3 times the athtlete the Nogueira is
by Don on Dec 16, 2008 1:13 PM EST reply actions
I thought he said 10 or 200 times the athlete on the show. I mean he was probably being modest either way, he’s the most athletic human to compete since Maximus in the gladiator days.
by BigTings on Dec 16, 2008 6:40 PM EST up reply actions
chuck norris’ beard is more athletic than maximus

“So you’re probably a pound-for-pound fighter, so you do more standing up, or do you think you do more ground?”
Finally, an interviewer who sounds stupider than i do!
wtf is she talking about? First off, she clearly has never seen Mir fight if she doesn’t know how he fights. Secondly, what the hell is a “pound-for-pound fighter”? You can be one of the best p4p fighters, but you can’t just (probably) be a “p4p fighter.” i don’t even think that makes sense. “You’re probably a p4p fighter.” Really? I had no idea. And you’re an idiot.
Why in the world would anybody employ this poor girl to interview fighters? could it be her boobs? MaximoTV! Coming to an unlisted cable network near you. this interview is the film equivalent of Blockbuster exclusive straight-to-video movies.

Griffin came across like a bit of an ass at the TUF Finale also IMHO. If he’s so happy that he no longer has to get up for work in the morning, sleep on the floor etc – surely he can learn to tolerate some airhead doing her best to increase the public’s awareness of both himself and the sport.
Or I could be wAAAAAy off…

Lame interviews.
Off topic, but I was looking for the infamous “dancing vid” on YouTube. Couldn’t find it, but check this out…LMFAO!!!!!…………..Keith Jardine (not really, but funny as hell)…..

Was I the only one laughing continuously through Forrest’s interview?
I pretty much skipped Mir’s… NOGUEIRA FOR THE WIN!"

ha ha ha “you’re definitely a pound-for-pound fighter” … if she had said that to forest there’s no doubt he would have had a quick comeback.
by fleet on Dec 16, 2008 2:08 PM EST reply actions
Eh, I still got Forrest by decision. I couldnt see anything that Evans would do to really affect Forrest that Rampage couldnt do.

I wonder if after watching the show, Mir realised how much of a prick he came off as. It really seems that he is far more respectful now. I wonder if they just put it together to make one coach more “the villain” and he isn’t actually that big of an ass or if Mir himself is in ‘damage control’ mode. Every interview after the show, he has been very well spoken and humble.
by PJJ on Dec 16, 2008 2:25 PM EST reply actions
I totally agree. He realises he was a dick and is in some way trying to make up for it by being over-complimentary of big nog (although nog does deserve all the credit he can get.)
Sometimes it takes a man to look at himself (no more of an easy way than on tv right?) to realise what a cock he came across as during the show. I mean editing or not he did say the stuff they showed on tv and most of it was shameful to say the least.
Either way: BIG NOG = HW Champ for a long time to come!

Ida know if you all saw that big "MAXIMOTV.com thing in the corner, but, that is the explanation for the terrible interviewer. If it said “MMAManiaTV.com” then we’d have problems. But, MaximoTV ???? Obviously, they cant do better.
by Craig on Dec 16, 2008 10:56 PM EST reply actions
Well, that youtube video of the fighters dancing behind LL is quite embarrassing. But hey, they’re out there and at least a portion of an audience that might not watch UFC saw their faces. This sport is growing, thus it’ll take events and shows like this to slowly get their faces out there. Yes the interviews were poor and it might not be the coolest thing in some people’s eyes for fighters to be dancing on stage but i see nothing wrong in it. Good for the UFC for branching out and pushing their fighters and brand. I guarantee some fans of LL cool J’s will find some interest in the fighters they saw on the stage behind him. Get ready guys, more things like this are too come.
