I’m glad someone wants to fight Thiago, instead of pulling a Sanchez.
by KS on Dec 15, 2008 7:22 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
but why does he deserve Thiago? He hasnt beat any top ten fighters, whereas Thiago hasn’t fought several and beat every one of them besides Fitch.

exactly subway2sal~
swick does not deserve this type of fight.
swicks next fight should be agianst anthony rumble. .

alves vs. sanchez

nevermind i forgot sanchez is going lw~
i think alves should have another fight before a title fight.
who would be a good opponant for alves?
aside from a rematch with jon fish~ i dont see any
good fights for alves to take while gsp fights bj.
swick~job vs. rumble. make it happen captian!

LOL, John Fish…I’m not impressed.
Seriously though, give Alves a shot for crying out loud…he’s been kicking butts and taking names for many years now. If he fights FISH again and loses, then Fitch will get the title shot and do we really want to see Fitch v GSP again? I really don’t.

thanks mexi~
u are probably talking about the fight for the troops.
i did very bad on that night but i think i will bounce back~

with rampage-griffin i lost 52k.
i have profitted of all other..do u remember afflicton banned?

why do you guys question those of us that gamble? I’m at a higher level of gambling then john, john is higher player than VM and stinky bets more than all 3 of us! Why is it hard to believe that some of us make good money?
stinky, wanna bet on the wand/rampage fight?
GSP/bj?
give me odds? I’ll put 100 up!

I never have once questioned another mans bets on this site. We work on an honor system around here…I like to think that at least all of the regulars are honest because shame on them if there not. Lying about yourself to a bunch of strangers on the internet is pretty pathetic, and I chose to believe that the regulars that I respect feel the same way as I do.
As for Mike Swick, Who the F does he think he is calling out my boy and the #1 contender Alves? Swick is like 2 big wins away from even being considered to fight Alves. Alves alreday said he is taking time off and will sit out until his title fight….and rightfully so! In the past year he has destroyed Lytle, Karo, Hughes, Koschek! He has earned a break and his title shot!
Who has Swick fought? Marcus, Burkman (Garbage), Goulet (a JOke)!
Swick deserves to fight a guy like Rumble. Nothing more, nothing less, Alves is certainly out of the question!
by john on Dec 15, 2008 12:28 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I agree and disagree John. I agree, why lie?!!
I agree alves is a top WW and would kill swick!
I disagree on fighters sitting out and waiting for their title shot. It’s why I respect a guy like Kenny Florian so much and dislike a guy like Karo! If you’re the #1 guy, get in there and prove it! If you train hard and fight the way your supposed to, you’ll still be the #1 guy, if you don’t train and expect to win, you never should have been a contender to begin with! Shut up and fight, it’s your job!
by kevin on Dec 15, 2008 12:38 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I dont like fighteres waiting for fights either, but I think Alves just needs a break so he might as well wait!
by john on Dec 15, 2008 1:15 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Alves should wait. Beating Goulet means you are good enough to fight in the UFC not fight for #1 contendership. Even then, Alves would kill his lanky legs and KO him in the 3rd.
by NameNotRequired on Dec 15, 2008 2:19 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Swick beat Marcus Davis who most of you thought would kill Swick. Now he’s a forgotten contender after Swick dealt with him. And I don’t know why Swick had to wait so long for his shot at middleweight. Swick more than deserves a number 1 contenders match, and he will win
by theCloser on Dec 15, 2008 3:03 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
he beat Marcus Davis who is a UFC top ten but probably not an overall top ten
by McArthur on Dec 15, 2008 8:28 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I’m a big Marcus Davis fan, but who has Davis beat? Liaudin? Taylor?
by Adam on Dec 15, 2008 12:08 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
All right who has anyone beat? People can play that fucking game forever"Who has the guy beat"!Which is a lame ass argument. At any rate Swick wouldn’t get by Anthony"Rumble"Johnson. So him calling out Alves is just trying to get people to think he’s on the same level which he obviously is not.
by tyler on Dec 15, 2008 2:03 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I am a big Davis fan as well, but to be honest, his resume BLOWS as well. I cant label him a top 10 UFC welterweight until he beats someone.
Put it to you this way, Carlos Condit would destroy him!
If Davis beats Lytle, I say lets see what he is made of and book him to fight Karo
by john on Dec 15, 2008 2:05 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
id love to see marcus knock karo out, thatd make my nite
by brendan on Dec 15, 2008 2:52 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I got swick in a dominant fashion against rumble. not necessarily finishing the fight, but maybe outclassing him for 3 rounds. Johnson has the talent and athletic ability, but if they fought each other in their next fight i think swick is the more well rounded fighter. Alves would knock swick’s lights out.
by James S on Dec 15, 2008 3:08 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Who is this Alves you speak of – another boringass wrestler that the UFC needs?

Swick VS. Kampmann
by Crowls on Dec 15, 2008 11:58 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Kampmann is fighting some Brazilian newbee at 93 for his 170 debut.
by BNF on Dec 15, 2008 12:04 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
is that confirmed yet?? thought it was just a rumor floating around
by Crowls on Dec 15, 2008 12:17 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Not confirmed yet, but 1 month out it should be soon. Personally I would rather see Swick/Kampmann like you suggested.
by BNF on Dec 15, 2008 12:25 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
yea, maybe a tough first fight at a new weight for kampmann, but def a good fight between 2 legit fighters
by Crowls on Dec 15, 2008 12:28 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
That fight is def happening. I hear great things about the brazlian Kat thats fighting Kampman. I also think that Martin will be a top 10 welterweight within a year, but for a first fight, dealing with your first weight cut of an additional 15 lbs…Kampan might be in trouble!
regardless of how his first fight goes, guys will have to take him serious in about a year. I would like to see him eventually fight Marcus Davis
by john on Dec 15, 2008 1:53 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Either Swick is very brave or very stipid…I’ll go with the latter.
by Eric on Dec 15, 2008 7:38 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Well its not like Swick hasn’t been winning. Besides that, when was the last time someone actually beat up Swick? He lost to Okami but that fight was very close and it went to a decision. Besides Alves and Fitch, I think Swick is the only other WW that stands at least a small chance against GSP.
by c-war on Dec 15, 2008 10:51 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
He also beat “the crow” when he was still good. That says a lot, IMO.

i can see rumble being on the london card against paul taylor, fight of the night written all over it!
by SCOTT on Dec 15, 2008 7:40 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Alves would absolutely demolish him, but maybe he will get a shot after Alves takes the belt away from GSP.
by Lester the Pimp on Dec 15, 2008 7:44 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Swick is funny. He gives himself way too much credit. You just beat Jonathan ‘Glass Jaw’ Goulet, moron! I’m pretty sure I could beat Jonathan Goulet. I wish they would MAKE these AKA guys fight either other. How do they all expect to be considered the divisions best (which Swick is not) and not have to fight each other? Joe Silva and Dana need to make these guys either fight each other, switch divisions or cut their asses.
by the_mexicutioner on Dec 15, 2008 7:52 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
100% agreed~
i think all fighters from each division must fight whomever
the ufc brass thinks should be their opponent..
none of this ’ i wont fight him ’ ‘hes my bff’ crap~

u can geet out!

swicks got a chance with his little machine gun punches, but overall alves would be to much for swick and ko him

Swick would ruin alves, alves wud be on his ass in the 1st round – when the bombs are thrown, swick never goes down first.

Swick would actually give Thiago a run for his money … I also think that Kos would beat him if they had a rematch and he had time to prepare. Thiago is only a roid munching kick boxer .. I can not wait until GSP destroys him.
by DownUnder on Dec 15, 2008 8:13 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Kos will absloutley never beat Alves. More time to prepare? He’s had 20 some-odd years of world class wrestling practice, and couldn’t even get the takedown on Thiago…and Kos’s striking is no where near Alves’s. Keep dreaming on that one.
by --utaptout-- AKA..."The Prodigy's" 4th biggest hugger on Dec 15, 2008 10:23 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
agreed if they fight again kos will never walk again….
by JoW on Dec 15, 2008 12:09 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
How are you not even giving Swick a chance vs. Thiago? Thiago is a beast no doubt, but Swick is used to fighting bigger opponents and his unorthodox style could give him fits. Let’s look at Thiago’s big wins:
vs. an underachieving Karo
vs. an over the hill Hughes
vs. Kos who had two weeks to train for the fight
I am not saying that Swick will win, but he won’t get crushed and he has a chance to win!

How about Jake Shields versus Mike Swick?????

i think swick~job would be a great victim for shields to sub 1st rnd.

Forget about Swick VS Alves… I want to see these damn AKA welterweights fighting each other:
Swick VS Koscheck
Swick VS Fitch
Koscheck VS Fitch
Its ridiculas to have 3 top welterweights all refusing to fight each other… If any of them are serious about holding the Welterweight belt they need to stop sucking each other off and get fighting.
by Oskarbravo on Dec 15, 2008 9:09 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
we all know Koscheck is the most dangerous and the no.1 AKA WW.. I’d say that Swick is on his way to pass Fitch also!
by RoB on Dec 15, 2008 9:22 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Kos is defnitely not better than Fitch…I don’t think many people would agree that he is.
by --utaptout-- AKA..."The Prodigy's" 4th biggest hugger on Dec 15, 2008 10:26 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I bet you Fitch would fight either of them. Kos and Swick don’t want to fight him because they know they would get their a$$es handed to them.
by BNF on Dec 15, 2008 11:50 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I would. At least Kos put up a bit of a fight against GSP. Fitch just got tossed around for 5 rounds.

by --utaptout-- AKA..."The Prodigy's" 4th biggest hugger on Dec 15, 2008 12:06 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
ya right.. then tell me where Fitch is better or more dangerous than Koscheck? i’d say nowhere, Fitch might be better in practice but that doesn’t say shit cause practice and actual fights are 2 totally different things..
by RoB on Dec 15, 2008 12:14 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I’ve been saying that for years now how come those two Fitch and Kos don’t fight each other and now Swick is in the mix. This is stupid
by TKO on Dec 15, 2008 10:13 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
swick doesnt deserve alves! alves deserves GSP, and swick isnt close..so a quick swick upset would shag that…and that is possible because they are both stand up guys…but GSP would wrestle and control the shit outta swick and wouldnt be an exciting fight.
by newfie on Dec 15, 2008 10:05 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
I think Kos need to move to 155, just like Diego. He’s kind of small for WW, and he will never be better than a number 2 or 3 in that division. Especially because he’s already over 30 years old. If he wants to hold a belt, he’d better make the cut. Imagine him fighting guys like Pellegrino, Florian, Huerta, Stevenson, Griffin, Sherk, or Diego again, etc…I think Kos could become the best at 155, that is of course only if BJ decides to vacate the division after he whoopsm on GSP at 94…lol :)
BJ BJ BJ!
by --utaptout-- AKA..."The Prodigy's" 4th biggest hugger on Dec 15, 2008 10:30 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
I know he said he would drop down to 155. I think he wrestled close to that weight before, so maybe it wouldn’t be a problem? But, then you still have guys like Sherk and Diego there who will still beat him down. Koscheck, face it, you will never be a champion in the UFC!
by BNF on Dec 15, 2008 11:54 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I think Diego wins a rematch between them, but I don’t think Sherk would beat him. Kosm has reaqch and height on Sherk, and I think he could stuff Sherk’s takedowns and even put Sherk on his back. Probably a boring LNP fest, but I think Kos would win a decision.
by --utaptout-- AKA..."The Prodigy's" 4th biggest hugger on Dec 15, 2008 12:07 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
“Rumble” Johnson will fight 4a the WW title with in his next 5 fights… Especially if he fights Karo or Sanchez or anyone who would need to take him down to win… His wrestling is to good…

Swick vs Haslett is a good matchup at the current time
by Noles on Dec 15, 2008 11:26 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
After beating a guy who isn’t even top ten, by the way is swick a top ten, calling out the number one contender LOL. He needs to be more consistent at 170 and actually beat a few top ten fighters or one of them to be a contender. Thiago did in his last 3 fight, karo got his first tko, he tko’d hughes who previously has only been beaten by 2 guys penn and gsp in 23 fights, over the hill he’s only 34, and koscheck is a top 5 fighter, thiago definitely isn’t over rated. To me he poses a bigger threat to gsp than penn does. Utaptout your delusional if you think kos could fight at 155lb why would he? He’s a top 5 fighter right now, survived 3 rounds with thiago, which wasn’t completely one sided at least one judge gave a round to him and is still improving and he walks around 190ish he’s a big welter weight like gsp, 155 is insane.
by nathan on Dec 15, 2008 11:47 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
is he for real, he thought okami was to strong, last time i checked alves wasn’t to small either, i think maby if he won another 2 fights against top competion then possibly give him a chance, he’s just beat a guy who doesn’t exactly have the best chin and now he thinks he’s ready for alves, i think that would end quite badly for him, don’t get me wrong i’m not a swick hater or anything, i normally like watching him fight but he would get destoryed by alves.
by hughes on Dec 15, 2008 1:59 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Swick vs anthony johnson, Alves has already more than earned his title shot and he has a good chance of knocking out gsp or penn.
by LG on Dec 15, 2008 2:04 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Alves will not fight again. Why risk losing, when you have a guranteed title shot within, say 6 months.
Anything can happen and no matter how good you are you still know this, so he will not lose his shot!
Swick was doing pretty well in the middle weight division against guys with 10-15 pounds on him come fight day. I personally think swick would give most ww’s a run for there money.
swick-hazelett/kelly/taylor/karo
