He said he used it for the Sherk fight, so hes had it for 1 fight, unless im mistaken!?
BJ should train a bit with Sherk over in Minn. to get a piece of that gym insane cardio and caveman training!

Here we go again. TV show is not enough now the hawaiian princess is “blood doping.” It took BJ 4 rds to put away t-rex arm sherk who decided he was a boxer. BJ peaked a long time ago while GSP is nowhere near his potential. GSP! GSP! GSP!
by NameNotRequired on Dec 15, 2008 2:08 PM EST up reply actions
LMAO! it was 3 rounds, but whatever, all knowing eye. Sherk boxed cause he knew the ground was hopeless, what else should he have done. It took 3 orunds for GSP to . . .oh wait, he never did finish Penn huh, or Kos, or Fitch, hell, the guy only finishes if he is fighting a midget like Serra or Hughes, even then, he loses to them before he finishes them, right?
by ( (AdamG ) ) on Dec 15, 2008 2:22 PM EST up reply actions
Sherk is totally game, top 10 contender, so 3 (or 4) rounds to put him away is still pretty damn good. You’re acting like he’s a chump, which is crazy! I’ll tell you will be crazy is the GSP?BJ fight. If BJ comes in shape and GSP comes mentally, this will be awesome!
by the matt king on Dec 15, 2008 2:37 PM EST up reply actions
Thank you for proving my point, BJ only subs cans while GSP beats the living tar out of top 3 guys. The last ranked fighter BJ subbed was Hughes 4 years ago. No amount of cardio and sleeping in bags will save your boy. (I admit i was wrong, it was 3 rounds against sherk but nonetheless embarrasing seeing how GSP outwrestled him and broke his face in two rounds)
Also betting lines are out- GSP -245, BJ +175. Better get in now before it shifts.

Sherk had so many disadvantages in that fight its rediculous! GSP should have won right? GSP should have also beat Serra the first time right? Penn you guys clained would lose to Sherk, cardio blah blah blah, so it looks like my boy did the unexpected in winning, your guy loses the unexpected. Your boy is the one id worry about, we’re fine over here in BJ land. BJ BJ BJ!!!

F BJ – GSP RULEZ!
BJ can sleep in a plastic wrapper how long it pleases him but it doesn’t make a difference for GSP.
GSP FTW
by Anger Jack on Dec 15, 2008 3:28 PM EST up reply actions
how exaclty does that help anyways? sleeping in altitude? arent u supposed to train in it?
by brendan on Dec 15, 2008 4:33 PM EST up reply actions
It artificially raises you red blood cell count. It’s funny the way he talks about guys cheating with drugs and that. This is legal blood doping if you ask me. If you wanna train in high elevation, go to an f’in mountain. Instead of getting his pudgy ass to the gym, he shells out 100Gs to sleep. AdamG, what is your take on this and not specifically when it come to BJ – cheating or not?
by NameNotRequired on Dec 15, 2008 5:25 PM EST up reply actions
I think whatever it does for you is good, legal, and allowed by all MMA governing bodys. Im sure if you look into it, close to 60% of most fighters out there use the same piece of equipment, its just a big deal for Penn cause his cardio is a big deal. I personaly wish that BJ had never slacked in his career and he wouldnt need shortcuts like this, but as long as hes doing something to raise his cardio level, i dont care. If he was doing nothing you guys would say “the least the guy could do is sleep in one of those elivation tent thingys damn!” Right???
by ( (AdamG ) ) on Dec 15, 2008 5:48 PM EST up reply actions
First of all, we’re not asking you so your opinion doesn’t count. Second, his pudgy a$$ is always in the gym, go to bjpenn.com to watch him train. Third, we live at sea level in Hawaii and we don’t have the luxury of going up to high altitude all the time(only Mauna Kea, but it takes like two hours to drive down there). Lastly don’t hate a guy who uses that to sleep, at least he ain’t juicing.
by pUniSHment on Dec 15, 2008 5:49 PM EST up reply actions
I think Dan Henderson uses one, I know Lauzon was using one when he was training with BJ. There are probably several others we don’t know about.
No Name, how is it cheating? IMO, it is very smart. He trains all day and is even gaining an additional advantage while he is sleeping. All the governing bodies have no problem with it, why would you?
by BNF on Dec 15, 2008 5:54 PM EST up reply actions
hahaha ’we’re not asking you so your opinion doesn’t count’? Come on, that’s just funny. Since when does an opinion need to be invited on forums?
by GregC on Dec 15, 2008 5:57 PM EST up reply actions
It appears i have offended some people. The thing is some fighters don’t have the monetary resources to afford such equipment/training so they have to cardio the old fashion way. This takes away from the time they can dedicate to technique. Some use this as a shortcut because no-one seems to thing it’s wrong. This doesn’t apply here but something to consider.
Punishment – plenty of fighters from all over make sacrifices to train in places like big bear. For someone who wants to be a legend, BJ seems to hate the hard work.
by NameNotRequired on Dec 15, 2008 7:38 PM EST up reply actions
I understand where your coming from, but sleeping in the tent is just one aspect of his training. Why would he take his entire fight camp to a high altitude place to just train. What he’s doing now seems to be working well for him. As for fighters not having the resources to afford such equiptment, I agree to some extent. But since we live a sea level here, BJ is at a disadvantage if the fighter he’s facing trains at a high altitude. It’s not like BJ never does anymore cardio just because he sleeps in that tent.
by pUniSHment on Dec 15, 2008 8:03 PM EST up reply actions
While I can’t knock BJ for using the bag because it’s not illegal, I do think it’s weird that equipment like that to raise red blood cell counts are legal, while supplements or drugs that do so are illegal.
by Diceman on Dec 15, 2008 8:07 PM EST up reply actions
Guys don’t sweat it,there is nothing wrong with sleeping in a tent with a little less oxygen in it. It causes your body to produce more hemoglobin, the exact same way training at altitude(where the air has less oxygen)does. It is no more cheating than training at high altitude. It actually quite smart to try and get every edge you can these days with the new breed of athletes. You can bet GSP is pulling all the punches, he has been training at altitude for some time now. I could see some advantages and disadvantages to using the tent. BJ will raise his blood count for about 8 hours while he sleeps, yet he will be able to train harder in the oxygen rich air at sea level. I can’t see it working as good as 24 hours a day at higher elevation though, because 16 hours a day he would be breathing oxygen rich air.

by ( (AdamG ) ) on Dec 15, 2008 2:10 PM EST up reply actions
True, but when have you seen him brag after winning fights? He’s always very respectful to his opponents. And he knows he deserved the win. Based on how UFC fights are judged it was the right call. If it was judged like Pride fights then BJ would have won, but that’s not the way the UFC works so it’s not worth complaining about.
by GregC on Dec 15, 2008 2:23 PM EST up reply actions
Something i wrote earlier:
Wont be that easy! LoL!!! And i think Georges won 12 minutes of that first fight, you can see BJ gas after he defends that 2nd takedown and he is never as effective as the first 3 minutes. But he will be this time, all 25 minutes. BJ BJ BJ!!!

That’s pretty legitimate. And I wasn’t referring to you in terms of complaining about the decision, I know you weren’t doing that there. It was more for the the people who say ‘everyone knows BJ won the first fight . . .’ etc.
by GregC on Dec 15, 2008 2:58 PM EST up reply actions
Id say they are retarded, BJ DID NOT WIN THE FIRST FIGHT! He won 3 minutes of it but thats all i need to see ya know, BJ in shape is an entire different world, all he wants for xmas is a dead GSP! BJ BJ BJ!!!
by ( (AdamG ) ) on Dec 15, 2008 3:05 PM EST up reply actions
BJ lasting 25 minutes hahahahahahahahaha what is wrong with you guys are you guys really serious. first off the first fight was not even close please please watch the fight on mute and see who really wins. if it wasnt for rogan chirping for blow job penn the whole time you can clearly see GSP handled him. Im very surprised by the reactions here. Umm in the last 5 fights,, Bj lost to GSP, he got pounded out by hughes, he finally got his revenge against a guy who is a striker, pulver, he beat stevenson who is still young and it took him longer than kflo,, how do you guys think Penn will win?? decision? its not going 5 rounds because BJ cant go 5 rounds, knockout? BJ has never knocked anyone out except for a flying knee,, submission,, GSP is very well versed in submissions and he wont be submitted? ground and pound TKO haha thats cute againt GSP, therefore the only way he can win this fight is through a ref stoppage from a cut,, perhaps he can use his thumb like he did in the first fight.. Hes losing to GSP in 3 or 4 rounds and then he WILL lose to Florian, BJ is overrated whats wrong with everyone
by jackel on Dec 15, 2008 4:35 PM EST up reply actions
Your right, Penn doesnt need 25 minutes.
by ( (AdamG ) ) on Dec 15, 2008 4:51 PM EST up reply actions
I personally think GSP is going to win the fight, but I still don’t understand how anyone can think it’s going to be an easy fight either way. Given that the only time BJ has ever been stopped was after separating his rib, I think it’s more likely that BJ wins by an early stoppage than GSP. But I think GSP will have better cardio (he’s just a better athlete overall and I don’t think any amount of training can give BJ an advantage there), and has a better chance of getting a late round stoppage or winning a decision. I guess all this debate is what makes it such an exciting fight, but I don’t understand how anyone thinks it’s an easy fight for either fighter.
by GregC on Dec 15, 2008 6:10 PM EST up reply actions
Ture GregC… No clear winner yet. Gotta give BJ insane respect, but realize that GSP is rediculously gifted as an athlete.
GSP! BJ! GSP! BJ!
by the matt king on Dec 15, 2008 7:09 PM EST up reply actions
This fightis similar to the Nover/Escudero matchup in that maybe GSP is the better athlete (as was nover), but Efrain was able to use his superior grappling (or from a leverage standpoint similar to BJ’s skills as he uses leverage so well to not waste energy)… Just a thought. I could have worded that better, but oh well.
by the matt king on Dec 15, 2008 7:12 PM EST up reply actions
Well its sort of a weird analogy, because Efrain won because he had the better wrestling so could dictate the fight.
Nover has great BJJ but not wrestling.
So who wins in that analogy; the guy with better wrestling.
heh
by ShaiZ on Dec 15, 2008 8:05 PM EST up reply actions
It depends. Whenever Nover tried to kick, Efrain would grab his leg and try to go for a takedown. BJ rarely kicks, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
by pUniSHment on Dec 15, 2008 8:13 PM EST up reply actions
Nover didn’t throw many kicks, because he was worried about it, so it nullified one of his weapons.
Efrain seemed to be able to take him down virtually at will and control him.
I don’t see BJ taking GSP down at all he doesn’t have an explosive double leg or really any big wrestling skills, and while BJ obviously has 100x better TD defense then Nover, if anyone is getting taken down it’s gonna be BJ.
by ShaiZ on Dec 15, 2008 8:36 PM EST up reply actions

Jack u gotta be kidding; Bj good target practice for GSP? Right.. GSP’s plan is to take this fight straight to the ground, he won’t stand with Penn and get battered again. Good luck getting it to the ground, as Penn seems to be the only one with TDD rated on par or better than GSP’s. And as far as personality, he seems like he’s really up tight to me, trying to make sure he says and does the right things in front of the camera, where as BJ just seems to act natural.

Yeah, I’m already dreading the excuses.
Do you BJ guys have some lined up already?
What do you think they are gonna be, we should have a lottery to see who is right.
My picks:
1: If GSP takes him down more then once it’s gonna be “he just took him down and held him there”
2: If BJ does any visible damage to GSP they’ll say he really won and they’ll make some sort of phrase they can repeat like: “MAN AFTER BJ WOKE UP AND GOT OFF THE MAT HE HUNG WITH BITCHES WHILE GSP GOT STITCHES”
3: “GSP is too big if he dropped down weight to LW (LIKE A REAL MAN) and fought BJ there, BJ would deeestroooy him”
4: HE HAD A BAD BIG KAHUNA BURGER THE DAY BEFORE THAT MADE HIM SICK; GSP MAY HAVE POISONED HIM, WE STILL TRYING TO PROVE THAT.
What’s your excuse predictions?

LMAO ShaiZ, are you sure you’re not a BJ fan? Only a BJ fan could come up with those beauties, lol. Something tells me this one might be used quite a bit too: Gsp just layed on him and didn’t do anything to him (until he TKOed him). If he would have stood up with BJ like a MAN, instead of laying on him like he does to Cote, BJ would have DESTROYED him in the 1st round. Apparently, for them wrestling isn’t part of MMA. It’s kinda like cheating if GSP resorts to his greatest strength.

Did you even see BJ GSP 1? Bj won that fight hands down. The first round was easily a 10-8 and he won the stand up the whole time. He definitely lost the take down battle but BJ worked GSP like hes never been worked before. Lets face it GSP hurt Fitch and bad too. But as much as I like Fitch he is no BJ. good point, Joe to Big Bear, BJ in tent, BJ wins. Sherk is a training machine, BJ in tent, BJ wins. Bottom line, since taking fighting seriously BJ is undefeated. (i know, i know, to lesser comp at 155, but GSPs comp aint that spectacular at 170 lately, Serra, Hughes (overthehill), Kos, Fitch. At least BJ has beaten a former champion in his last 2 fights. GSP is going to beat BJ…. that is from a neutral standpoint because I love both guys (nothing like some good ol’ man love). I think this because GSP is much better wrestling, so he gets to conduct where the fight takes place. In striking it is fairly even, but I might have to give it to GSP, and it ground game I might have to give it to BJ. BUT…. GSP is such a good wrestler that he can either dump Penn on his head and stay on top OR use his wrestling to keep it striking. GSP can use his amazing kicks which BJ cant.
No, you cant compare Sherk’s wrestling base to GSP’s wrestling.

GSP’s striking is not superior to BJ’s. Maybe more dynamic, but BJ has better flow and is better at avoiding. Also, whats so amazing about GSP’s kicks? He’s kicked Hughes. So what? I think after watching BJ’s training videos, that GSP will have a much tougher time taking BJ down this time around. HE’s looking much bigger, and still cut. He’ll never be the specimen that GSP is, but he doesn’t need to be. You’ll never see GSP have the balance and flexibilty that BJ does, so it balances out.

It’s a mismatch and your love affair is blinding you to this fact. I haven’t called a fight wrong in over a year because I only make a call on these mismatch cases where people buy into the pre-fight hype. How confident are you in BJ. Things can happen, but a mismatch . . . it seems like everyone but you knows that this is the most even a match that can be faught from 170 and down man, sorry it doesnt meet your high standards of matchability. I know all GSP and OPenn fans are waiting to see how far their fighter has really come since battle 1, this will really tell you. BTW, i havent called a fight wrong for either fighter in years, only the Serra fight caught me off gaurd like the rest of the world. I guess i was wrong in thinking that GSP would/should actually finish Kos and Fitch, but decisions are fun to i guess. Hey, when you cant finish, you cant finish, no biggie. BJ BJ BJ!!!

Don’t get me wrong. I am very excited for the matchup. I just don’t let my emotions get in the way. GSP, being from Jackson’s here where I live, I get some of the inside scoup on the guy. He outwrestles the LHWs in the gym. If hew wants to hold the cabbage patch kid down, he can. No amount of gumby legs can overcome it. Within a year he grew to a point where the Canadian Olympic wrestlers couldn’t handle him. That is more prodigy-like than BJ’s accomplishments. Oh, and I really like BJ. I’m just not in love with BJ. by ( (AdamG ) ) on Dec 15, 2008 3:11 PM EST up reply actions
And dude, Hughes punched BJ 47 times in the face bro, with no defense to stop him, Penn looked just like he always does after that, his face anyway, but yea, go Davis???
by ( (AdamG ) ) on Dec 15, 2008 3:12 PM EST up reply actions
First of all, he had a pretty major shoulder injury in the swick fight. Second, most of the fight was not standup. Third, it is extremely difficult to KO someone from the crucifix position which Hughes had and they had a fight science documentary about how difficult it is to knock someone out from ground and pound.
And finally, what the hell does the amount of physical scarring and bleeding on a person’s face have to do with damage caused. A knockout punch is typically to the jaw and does not typically leave a mark. A person doesn’t have to look damaged to actually be hurt you idiot!

((Adam g)) your halarious 30 posts on this page out of 78 comments!!, I know your a bj fan but holy shit man no one touches you, you really should change your name to adamg bj’s number one fan, because hands down nobody even penns mother touches you. The more I get into MMA the more interested I get into other fighters, for some reason penn doesn’t do it for me, maybe one day he’ll win me over, maybe if he convincingly beats gsp and doesn’t pull a serra. Even though I believe fedor and anderson silva are the best fighters out there they kind of bore me and lack something I don’t know what. To me gsp is the most interesting fighter for me so far it used to be matt hughes, to each there own though I guess we all see things differently and are impressed by different qualities in fighters. I don’t know how anyone can say there 100% sure penn or gsp would win maybe if each guy was fighting an 80 year old I would agree. Upsets happen on every card, heavy favorites loses regularly, I think and hope gsp wins but thats as far as I’m going to go just so I don’t look like a fool if he gets his ass kicked. I’m just curious where are all the gsp fans? I know he has more fans just by looking at ufc.com and his facebook fans, obviously not on mmamania though, because every time something about penn appears you can count on his fans flooding the page.

I’m sure the bag is helpful, but there’s no way BJ will be able to equal GSP’s cardio. BJ submits GSP in the first or second round, or it’s all over. GSP by TKO in the 4th!
by SilasM on Dec 15, 2008 3:58 PM EST reply actions
Jet99 I know I’ll still be here and will be sad if gsp loses but it would just mean penn was the better fighter that night, not necessarily that he would win every time, and they would still be 1-1. But on the other hand it would depend how the fight went. If it goes like serra/gsp 1 or hughes/gsp 1 I won’t be that convinced and would want to see a rematch, but if it goes like serra/gsp 2 or hughes/gsp 2 and 3 I wouldn’t care to see a rematch. I’d give penn his props and say he’s the better figher period, gsp outclassed hughes so badly in his 2nd and 3rd fight and it was such an embarrassing loss for hughes an absolutly one sided fight, so was serra/gsp 2, who really wants to see a rematch? I totally see why penn fans want to see a rematch with hughes and gsp because the fights were very close and shit happened, penn claimed to be out of shape, even though his trainer said he was in his best shape ever, penn hurts himself with hughes, whatever but the fights very close and controversial which makes for a great rematch.

Is this just a room BJ sublets or does he actually live in that dump?
by noneed4name on Dec 15, 2008 4:15 PM EST reply actions
Kevin bj was only “dominating”(taking hughes back, putting him in an triangle choke and arm bar) AFTER he broke his rib. For 1 or 2 mins of round 2 hughes took penn down and was elbowing penn up against the fence. And penn was “dominating” hughes in round one by stuffing all of hughes numerous take down attempts, I didn’t know stuffing takedowns was domination I’ve even heard penn fans say he was destroying hughes in round 1, and funny enough a judge gave round one to hughes!! ha ha, I think it was cecil peoples LOL, the same guy I believe who thought penn won the first fight with gsp. Sorry guys but saying a fighter only lost because he gases is one of the dumbest excuses I’ve ever heard because its fool proof. Koscheck gasses, serra gasses, hughes gasses, fitch gasses, they all could have said that serra and fitch did look tired for most of the fight, hughes looked gassed after his first round with gsp in gsp/hughes 3. Any fighter could use that as an excuse which is retarded, excuses are for the lame, real fighters don’t make excuses for loss’s they learn from them and shut up, gsp should have shut his mouth and was an idiot for talking too much, he should just have said he got caught and end of story and not make the same mistake again.
by nathan on Dec 15, 2008 4:18 PM EST reply actions

I thought the fighter had to defend the belt at least once to keep it. BJ hasn’t proved shit at WW and you know it. Quit trying to make it sound like he accomplished so much. GSP did what a champion should do, clean his OWN division first, before he goes bouncing around like a freekin jack rabbit. I know you like to count belts as accomplishments, but it just isn’t the same, the way BJ won his WW belt and the way GSP won his WW belt.

This fight is similar to the Nover/Escudero matchup in that maybe GSP is the better athlete (as was nover), but Efrain was able to use his superior grappling (or from a leverage standpoint similar to BJ’s skills as he uses leverage so well to not waste energy)… Just a thought. the funny thing is i believe BJ is gonna win.Its a lose, lose situation for GSP. If he wins(which i doubt) then he was suppose to win and thats no great feat and if he loses then he lost to a smaller fighter that he should of beat. i think BJ has learned from his past mistakes and will finish GSP. Plus BJ has a mental advantage.GSP has a lot more to lose than BJ and we all know including GSP fans that GSP is mentally WEAK as to where BJ is mentally fucked so there’s my 2 cents.with that said BJ BJ BJ BJ BJ !!!

That is funny that you think BJ is goint to win, it’s hillarious actually,HA HA HA HA HA. You’re whole post is funny, " beating BJ is no great feat"HAHAHA. " BJ has a mental advantage" HAHAHAHA. “GSP has a lot more to lose” OK that’s true. “We all know including GSP fans that GSP is mentally WEAK” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH slaps knee HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, NO we all don’t know that. You would have to be a mor0n to think that. He had one bad fight when he was going through some tough times and his last 4 fights he broke ALL of his opponents MENTALLY. What makes it so funny is the irony, GSP doesn’t break mentally, he breaks his opponents mentally. That’s why Kos was congradulating him 2 minutes before the fight was even over, he GAVE UP. Did you miss the look in Serra’s and Hughes’s eyes and the fact that Hughes was talking about retiring second after getting owned by GSP.
That’s the biggest myth in all of MMA, GSP is the mind breaker not the breakee. In the 3rd or 4th round when BJ is DEAD tired and GSP is still fresh and on top of him, BJ WILL break.
by Gord on Dec 16, 2008 1:07 AM EST up reply actions
He didnt just have one bad fight, he had a bad fight to Hughes the first time cause he looked up to him as well as the Serra fight. BJ im sure (because BJ said so in post interview) also looked up to Mat but kicked his *ss anyway. GSP shouldnt have any loses and perhaps that bad round to Penn shouldnt exist either, but they do, what would you blame all 3 of those on?? And that was 3 bad fights, not 1 buddy.

You watch GSP’s mind weaken when BJ takes him down and gets his back. We all know BJ can handle himself on his back, what will GSP do if it happens to him. Don’t get me wrong GSP is gifted fighter and a great champ, but I just don’t see him winning this one.

What are you smoking matt king nover getting taking down at will is like gsp!!!! ha ha ha thats funny, penn won’t be taking gsp down, gsp has spent less than 5 minutes on his back in his entire fighting career, and has fought some of the best wrestlers. Penn is no nover either he’s not a great athlete but has amazing take down defense similar to gsp’s, poor analogy.

What if you bang your girl in that thing? Do you both get mad fit while having sex? That would be bad ass.

I disagree taped up pair I’m going with t(ko) 4th :) final answer. Twice as long as it took him to dispatch serra who had a very close fight with the prodigy, and the prodigy made serra mad by saying he didn’t fight well because he didn’t train properly for the fight ;) sound familiar? If he loses badly now after all his “documented” training blogs he’ll have nothing to say LOL.

Nathan, I could go with that – 3rd or 4th. I hate to dislike someone but BJ seems to be all about himself. GSP was coming off a great victory against Fitch and Penn is running around the ring like Obama’s children at the Democratic convention. I was a fan at one point but everytime I watch he seems to have an attitude. It is probably my problem but I dont have an issue if he goes in the 4th or even the 5th. : )

How many kids off the street has GSP saved from a life of crystal meth and violence? I don’t know but I know BJ does it all the time. All about himself huh?

But if he does lose and takes it like a man I guarantee we’ll hear a flood of excuses by his number 1,2,3,4 biggest fans. :)

See nathan, unlike yourself, we can accept defeat and not whine and bitch and moan about it. There is a lot more than 4 of us too. I’m still waiting for you to formulate one decent argument that makes a valid point. Guess what…BJ BEAT Serra like 5 years ago. GSP TAPPED DUE TO STRIKES, from the same Serra that you’re saying had a close fight with BJ, when BJ was like 12. Come back when when you have something to contribute… :) BJ BJ BJ!!

Floyd Mayweather has slept in a chamber like this one for years, and know one would call it lazy. There are some NFL players like TO that use them as well.

LOL lets stay current, great facts there utapout #4 complainer after penn loses. You want a valid point, gsp destroyed the only two guys to beat him, he destroyed hughes twice after hughes pummeled penn and won by tko, only in 2006 :). He embarrassed serra passing his guard like it was nothing, and finishing him within two rounds. All of these points are valid, penns record at welter weight is 1-2 and gsp’s is 17-2 facts my friend and after jan 31 it will be 1-3 he needs to stay at lightweight where he belongs. Penns last four fights #1 sherk a guy who moved down to light weight because he said the welters were too big for him, penn wins within 3 rounds, gsp finished him within 2 years earlier,#2 joe a guy who florian finished much quicker and #3 a washed up pulver a guy who a nobody ko’d within the first round, #4 hughes who he lost to by tko, granted Penn won the first two rounds. Now for gsp, #1 fitch gsp destroyed him for 5 rounds #2 in the division #2 serra he destroyed within 2 rounds #3 hughes who he completely embarrassed, the last welter weight to send penn to the HOSPITAL :) #4 koscheck who he outwrestled and dominated. There you have it, there “CURRENT” last four fights, I think these are valid points and aren’t my opinion but facts, sorry if they hurt your feelings #4.
by nathan on Dec 16, 2008 10:50 AM EST reply actions
OK, well congrats nathan on finally making your first valid points. You conveniently left out the part where GSP TAPPED OUT DUE TO STRIKES. If you knew a thing about fighting, you’d know that only chumps tap out from getting punched. That right there shows GSP’s lack of heart. He cried uncle. He gave up. He threw in the towel. He’s a chump. Any way you slice it, GSP folded under Serra’s onslaught. You will NEVER see BJ fold or give in. BJ has never tapped, and never will. He has also never been KO’d. Cardio and heart are two very different thing. GSP has more cardio than heart, and BJ now has as much cardio as he has heart, which means alot of trouble for GSP. I’m not making an excuse. He was an idiot for not training harder back in the day. But now he does train as he should, and guess what…You CAN train for better cardio. You CAN’T train to have more heart. GSP’s going to show that lack of heart again as soon as he gets hit hard again. And its going to happen on January 31st. BJ BJ BJ BJ!!! You’re move smart guy! :)

Whatever… I’ll admit GSP didnt exactly destroy Blow Job Penn the first time but if you go back in his career he always comes back 10 times stronger the second time he fights an opponent. You guys are all dickriders and i wonder who you’ll be riding once Blow Job Penn gets what he has coming to him… a second round KO!

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA that made me laugh, Bj never tapped??? how the hell did he make it to a black belt, the guys tapped more times than a tap dancer in a one hour show. Tapping just means the guy got you, he starting knowing nothing and worked his way up to a world class level bjj fighter. Not tapping is just plain stupid, getting a concussion or having your arm broken is DUMB. Its a sports competition not fighting for your life, the guy in the last ufc event was a complete moron not to tap and will be out of fighting for a long time, smart fighters tap rather than letting some guy break there arm, they can fight another day and get there revenge. I think your wrong bj may not tap in an mma event due to stikes, but if he knew the guy was going to break his arm, which would be very difficult to do to penn, he would tap he’s not that stupid. Just because no one has ko’d penn doesn’t mean it can’t happen, I can’t remember the last time chuck was ko’d, shit happens in this sport, you better knock on wood because in the later rounds gsp’s head kick might be the end of penns perfect ko free career. :)
by nathan on Dec 16, 2008 2:07 PM EST reply actions
nathan, obviously BJ’s tapped when rolling and training. Noone in MMA has the skill to tap BJ due to a sub. Besides, I’m talking about tapping due to strikes, in a championship bout. GSP was not getting hit hard enough for a concussion. Anyway, we’re talking asbout the most prestigous WW belt in the world by far. I’d take a concussion and fight through it, as BJ would. Thats what the referee is there for anyway, to protect the fighters. You’ll notice that the referee stopped the fight AFTER GSP tapped. That means that he thought that GSP wasn’t in any REAL danger yet, or he wouldve stopped it. GSP folded, just like when he didn’t even TRY to get out of that armbar from Hughes in their first fight. He started tapping before the armbar was fully sunk in. P*ssy. lol… :) BJ BJ BJ!!!

Nathan, GSP had several advantages over both Serra and Hughes in all 5 of those fights that Penn doesnt have and didnt have. The size, reach, strength, height, etc, GSP should have won all 5 of those fights right?? BJ is more evenly matched with those guys and still beat them just the same. Although the Hughes Penn beat was a much better hughes than GSP did, and the Serra BJ beat was at his natural weight class (just like Sherk) instead of fighting some huge dude in GSP. Penn has beaten many guys that have similar advantages like GSP if not more and he almost beat GSP the first time. (All this while never seriously training!) GSP beats nat 155ers, period. BJ does the same as a nat 155er. Take away GSPs advantages and he would take the same amount of time to beat Sherk/Serra that BJ did. Get it??? BJ BJ BJ!!!

O.K number #1 and #4 LOL ya gsp is a real pussy for fighting nearly blinded, possible broken nose and bleeding all over the place and then winning :), I really do hope gsp ko’d penn jan 31 he would deserve it, I hate fighters who call out other fighters and love it when they lose.

The odds are -245 gsp +175 penn I hope you beat a lot on your boy :)
by nathan on Dec 17, 2008 12:35 PM EST reply actions
Whats all this tap out due to strikes shit, you guys never shut up about that, if you get caught in a sub or can’t intelligently defend your self you should tap. Big john should have stopped it earlier gsp wasn’t defending himself or blocking the punches he was hurt badly so he tapped big deal anyone with a brain would have. Penn couldn’t tap when hughes was pounding his face into the matt he had both arms trapped, so we’ll never know, maybe penn is a “pussy too” :)
