It’s great to see some good young Mexican fighters with loads of potential. My city is like 90% hispanic and all the time it’s boxing this and boxing that blah blah blah. Times are changing though and fighters like Velasquez, Huerta and Escudero are gonna help speed that along.

Except Huerta will be irrelevant soon!
Velasquez vs Carwin after each has a few more build-up wins!

I wonder if that fight will happen though. The HW division seems so weak that I bet they’ll build them up separately, so they can have two potential challengers. If they fight, one will be knocked back down the ladder and they’ll have a hard time coming up with another suitable contender. Does this scenario make sense to anyone else? It only kinda makes sense to me.

That’s exactly what I have been thinking. It’s the same problem that you encounter when you have the #1 contender fights. Instead of having a title contender with another one ready to face the winner, you have a contender and no clear challenger after the title fight happens.

no, chefdaddy you’re completely right i have been thinking that for quite a while, that’s what they should be doing more in the other weightclasses sometimes too.. the more stars the UFC can create the better it is and to do that they have to follow what you’re saying..

Hey, don’t know if you saw my post to you in another thread, but I was just letting you know that it wasn’t me who insulted you (and it was a lame one, at that)a couple days ago. There’s at least on fake chefdaddy runnin’ around.

It’s all good. I don’t give a shite anyways. As long as you get to score on hot chicks backstage, it’s all good!!

Ya he is a huge heavyweight. 236 pounds in both ufc fights, he would destroy brock… Are you kidding brock is 50 pounds heavier, bigger reach, better wrestler and has actually fought legit competition.
by truth on Dec 14, 2008 6:11 PM EST reply actions
Nobody said he would destroy brock…. he has alot of potential just like shane carwin but there being brought along slower… There not getting undeserved title shots like brock did, he only got the shot cause he would sell alot ppv’s…. In a couple fights either cain or carwin could get a title shot… But by then brock might not be the champ.
