Krzysztof Soszynski: Junie Browning wanted to be worse than Chris Leben

Props: The Canadian Press

Quoteworthy:

"To be honest with you, he did everything for show. It was a whole joke to him. Basically he told me the very first day we met - and before our fights to get into the house - he basically said 'If I get into this house, I'm going to be the crazy guy. I'm going to get out of hand, I'm going to get out of control, I'm going to pull whatever I can just to get ratings, to become the character that I want to become.' He said he was going to become the worst Chris Leben ever."

UFC light heavyweight and The Ultimate Fighter Season Eight alum Krzystof Soszynksi sounds off on lightweight and fellow castmate Junie Browning. Soszynski questions Browning's motives and suggests that Browning planned his actions every step of the way. I wonder if those plans included getting choked out by Efrain Escudero in the semifinals?

IMO, Junie is somewhat self-aware, he know’s he’s got emotional problems… so that was no act.

You sound like you’re referring to the machines from Terminator – they became self-aware!

JUNIE’S A DISGRACE TO MMA. EVERYONE CHANGE THE CHANEL WHEN HE’S FIGHTING TONIGHT.

Junie’s a chump. Hes not gonna make it far in anything he does. He was right though, he’ll end up working at Burger King and spend his money at Taco Bell – He looks the the type to order a combo with a Mountain Dew

Junie Sucks!!!

by skelow on Dec 13, 2008 4:44 AM EST reply actions

Look how Junie is pretending like he knows how to read.

ya but Chris backs his shit!! junie can never be as cool as Chris Leben!

by suck my nutz on Dec 13, 2008 4:51 AM EST reply actions

I would agree, cuz Leben was my favorite fighter, but Junie won’t be worse til he does roids. Dropped Leben off my list of faves permanently.

yeh but will junie(chocholate fudge)brownie end up taking roids like LEBEN i hope junie gets his ass kicked the little blonde haired piss head.

This guy is such a douchebag. I do believe in second chances, and even 3rd chances sometimes. But, as Mir said, this guy is an insult to all mma fighters.

Dana letting him stay on the show is such bullshit. I wonder how Jesse Taylor is feeling these days??? NOt that I defend Taylor or his actions….Just that Junie should of been booted THREE times and DID NOT.

I will also bet that he was favored to win against Efran. If there were betting lines, I will about guarantee that Junie was favored. That would of been a horrible statement to have Junie in the finals….and is sickening that he EVEN had the chance to win ONE fight and get there. In the season AFTER a guy was booted for acting stupid and drunk….A guy assults someone with a glass and breaks it over another fighter and charges into the Octagon has not been booted AND is in the final

by fightfan on Dec 13, 2008 7:41 AM EST reply actions

Yep, you pretty much summed it up!

by chefdaddy on Dec 13, 2008 6:17 PM EST up reply actions

On another note, I would of REALLY liked to see Phillipe kick the living shit out of Junie. Junie even had 2 fairly easy fights

by fightfan on Dec 13, 2008 7:42 AM EST reply actions

he did a better job of acting the fool, than he did of becoming a better fighter. How are ratings going to help him if he’s losing? I personally think his prioritie were a little out of whack, and to tell you the truth….I wasn’t impressed with his mma skills anyway. Don’t let your mouth write checks your ass can’t cash.

Heres how it will go…Junie shall win this match-up…Then he will go on to fight Sean Sherk and win via KO…Then he shall fight Kenny Florian and beat him so bad that Kenny will then quit the UFC all together…Then he shall fight BJ Penn and win via leg triangle…Then he shall move to Welterweight and challenge St. Pierre…He will beat St. Pierre via TKO and hold two titles…Then Anderson Silva shall be next.

Oh yes…Anderson Silva shall be next.

I call bullshit…I think Kryzsztof is full of it and possibly more overrated than anyone in that house.

by Dayvet on Dec 13, 2008 9:21 AM EST reply actions

Janie, I mean Junie is a loser….and Kryzsztof has a legit mma record and background. Junie has no skill and this next fight will be his last in the UFC.

Complete disgrace….worse than Jesse Taylor.

by deadgrassinyard on Dec 13, 2008 2:00 PM EST reply actions

Eh, at least Junie is funny. Jesse was just retarded.

I have been watching the Ultimate Fighter marathon and I really notice some of the guys on the show are sloppy and unskilled. You can see these guys know nothing about range, no kicking skill and don’t have any boxing skills at all; throwing sloppy haymakers, the lack the needed aggression at the time needed, and also slow out of the gate and are not explosive. They don’t have that fire that true fighters have; I am mainly talking about guys like Junie Browning and anyone that lost to him. This Junie kid is so full of him self and I can guarantee I would smash this guy in all aspects on a bad day and out of shape. Seriously it looks like they took some dude who got in to a few bar fights and threw him on the show. Give true martial artist and real fighters a chance to make something out of there selves, not these unskilled bums. If that is all it takes to get on these TUF shows or to get a fight in the UFC then sign me up cause I am a million times the fighter this kid is.

sorry to break the news to you guys but Junie is now training at Coutures gym with Forrest and all thos guys so,Dana likes him and i believe he will be around for a while. so hate on haters

by knee to the nads on Dec 13, 2008 5:42 PM EST reply actions

I will admit he fought a great fight tonight, I give him props, maybe he would give me a run after all

by TysonLeeHarris on Dec 14, 2008 2:03 AM EST reply actions

Junie Browning – proof that mom and dad are brother and sister. To have a chip on his shoulder that big – he must have a tiny wee wee or something. I don’t know what was more disgraceful – Browning acting like a moronic twerp repeatedly, or Dana letting him stay on the show. If he chucks a bloke off the show for jumping a fence to chat up some sheila then allows this no brained f*cker to stay on despite glassing someone!! Maybe it means ratings are sh!te and the show’s going down the toilet and Dana’s clutching at straws on getting some ratings, relying on sensationalistic bullsh!t like what Jerry Springer needs. Maybe that’s Junies next big thing – he can go on Jerry’s show where we hear that his hermaphrodite boyfriend / girlfriend has a bigger Johnson than Junies. Best thing for MMA – let him STAY RETIRED

by Davo on Dec 22, 2008 2:27 AM EST reply actions

Hate on, everyone. Soszynski is just mad that he didn’t make it all the way. So, now he has all this trash to talk about Junie’s antics. Who cares whether or not it was all a premeditated show, it made for great t.v. Your going to tell me that if Junie wasn’t on TUF season 8 that it would have been an exciting season?? Hell, that show, otherwise, was very boring. Is that why Dana let him stay, I’d like to think not. I think Dana had seen the potential in Junie from the beginning. Is he ready to be champ now? No, but give it a year or two and I think he’s going to one of the best light weights in the UFC. I’m hoping that he’s able to prove everyone, who doubts his ability as a true MMA fighter, wrong…..
