My brain tells me Koscheck, but my gut says Yoshida. I hope it’s a good fight either way.

This fight has all the makings for a Yoshida upset. Koscheck just fought and is probably a little burned out. Also, he is having issues with the UFC and this will probably be his last fight there. Koscheck is going to get tossed on his head and pounded out!

Are you sure that Kos and his management team are still having troubles with the UFC?
I would think that he would not want to leave the UFC and he would take the Fitch route and speak with Lorenzo, the REAL owner of the UFC.

That’s what I read on cage potato the other day. Go check it out. Who knows, but I wouldn’t be too upset.

VM: I am about 75% sure that this will be Koscheks LAST fight in the UFC.
By the way, I am betting $$$ on Yoshida….via Decision!

I gotta wait to see the odds. Yoshida will have to be in the +240 range for me to bet on him

I got yoshida as well. For some reason i don’t think that Kos’ shots will be effective. The fact that Alves killed his legs and he hasn’t had time to recover properly leads me to think he’ll come in more injured than usual.

how are we supposed to give a prediction when the only fight yoshida had is a 1 minute submission against war machine?
I havo no idea what he can do.

i think kos will win but i’m up for yoshida
since this is kos’ last fight we need someone to step up into his place and yoshida would be perfect for that role

I agree Yoshida is probably best fighter out of Japan right now. He is very good a Judo incredible strong GnP and is in excellent shape. The dude is for real I really hopes he takes this one. Ok maybe my dislike for KOS has something to do with my prediction but Yoshida is no joke.

Okami is pretty darn good also… different weight classes obviously, but yeah well just have to wait and see, i think this fight will determine whether or not yoshida is the real deal, i sure hope so!

Best way is to watch his fight vids. He’s got better GNP than Kos for sure coz he doesn’t lay on guys when he does it. Excellent elbows so good chance of cut. His excellent base will also help him fend off or even throw when Kos shoots. His boxing is average but his dirty boxing/clinch work is good. His subs are better than Kos but he’s no magician.

yeah agreed, i think he has a good shot in this fight, if i were the bookies id be putting the odds at close to even money, but they wont… so you just have to bet the underdog and hope for the best!

just incredibly stupid to not sign a new contract with a guy like Josh Koscheck! i don’t care how much of an asshole he is, the only thing i know is that he’s a major player in the UFC’s WW division and def one of the more wellknown names, and he always steps up to fight.. where is this thing going! i’m looking past the mega fights that they’ve lined up already and the oppurtinities are getting smaller and smaller

guys help me out…..why do so many people think Josh is a jerk? He comes to fight and wants to improve, so why the hate? Diego is the one who pushed Josh off the stage which could ended the fight right there, but Diego is liked more than Josh, doen’t make sense to me……. Are there specific reasons why people don’t like him?
by Robert on Dec 9, 2008 11:44 AM EST reply actions 0 recs

Robert, reference season one of TUF and you will find dozens of reasons why people hate the curly headed doucebag

I think that Yoshida’s chances lie in catching Kos in a submission from a takedown attempt, like Anaconda or a D’arce Choke. I don’t think that Kos would let himself get caught by a hip toss just judging off the way his body is usually positioned when he shoots his amazing takedown attempts. Yoshida hopefully will train to have an amazing sprawl and then catch him early. I don’t think Koscheck would be able to finish this guy because he is so tough and his judo is pretty amazing so I don’t think he will be on his back for too long. But he could take him to the judges and based off of, i regret to say, lay n pray for 15 minutes.
just by opinion…
Either Yoshida Submission rd. 1 or Koscheck by UD.

A: To inform us “We’re sorry, but this video is no longer available.”
