Andrei Arlovski 360: 'On the Road to Reckoning' video series debut Dec. 19

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski will have company as he prepares for perhaps the biggest fight of his professional mixed martial arts career against WAMMA Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction: "Day of Reckoning" at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., on January 24.
The marketing machine behind the "Pitbull" is working with a professional Chicago-based production crew, which is responsible for several popular video-based Web sites, to create a seven-part online series leading up to colossal clash.
It will be dubbed "Arlovski 360: On the Road to Reckoning," following the life and times of the Belarusian as he prepares right up to -- and just after -- his fight against the "Last Emperor."
In fact, six episodes will air before the highly-anticipated bout and the final installment will cover its immediate aftermath. All of the episodes, which will be about 10 minutes in length, will first appear on his Web site (www.arlovski.com) every Friday, beginning on December 19.
Recently, top-tier online sports destinations have expressed interest in possibly airing the documentary-type Webisodes, which could mean that the series receives even greater exposure. At the very least, all seven episodes will be uploaded to major video sharing sites such as YouTube.com shortly after their premieres.
In addition, "Arlovski 360: On the Road to Reckoning" has piqued the interest of several major sponsors. In particular, the popular male-focused "Axe" brand, which we're told Arlovksi uses to keep his mane silky smooth, will make its MMA sponsorship debut in the series.
Check out a video trailer of what to expect from "Arlovski 360: On the Road to Reckoning" after the jump. It looks sick. And interested fans should sign up at Arlovski.com to get the updates on the show's release and when the episodes come out.

Should be interesting and a good way to promote the fight or should I say the destruction!

What is with overrated fighters stroking their celebrity egos with online shows? BJ, Arlovski, Couture(yea he doesn’t have one but am still taking a shot at him.) This event is doomed to fail from a promotional and financial aspect.

bj penn is overrated??? come on…… adam i need you here

BJ – everyone only looks at his potential, one which is eclipsed by his ego. He is overrated in the sense that people actually think he is a god and indestructible.
Arlovski – excellent/fast hands, everything else not so good. On his resume only 3 big names – Sylvia(long long ago), Nelson(top15), Rothwell(top10). Werdum doesn’t count coz he got bitch slapped.

NameNot Required: Obviously BJ, AA & Couture are not your favorites, I’m curious to know who are?
by Machine on Dec 10, 2008 1:17 PM EST up reply actions
Easy, #1 is always Big Nog – he never gets respect. GSP, Any silva, maia, tavares. Also i like BJ but i don’t think he’s the alpha omega of MMA. My main dislike are towards fighters who protect their legacies i.e couture and ones who’s image is not based on anything of considerable merit.
by NameNotRequired on Dec 10, 2008 2:47 PM EST up reply actions
LOL @ “any silva”. I think i can agree there. Big Nog is definately the #2 HW. GSP has one of the best resume’s in the sport. There may be 1 or 2 guys who’ve had to consecutively beat Top 5’ers to take the title but thats it.
Tavares & Maia could actually go against your own point about records but they do have real potential. What the heck happened to Tavares in his last fight? Didnt even look like himself. I thought for sure he’d make a run at the strap.
by Machine on Dec 10, 2008 4:49 PM EST up reply actions
I take it easy on up and comers. I concentrate my hate on the bigger names. Yea, i have big hopes for tavares. But for sure the first time i saw him, it was like he’s the next BJ. He took a spiral after that ripoff against Griffin. He’s been jumping around camps a lot b/t brazil and US. Also he wasn’t training at team minotauro last time. But 09 is the year of Tavares.

Russians and Belourussians are nearly the same. They originate from the same root and speak very similar languages.Belourusssian means “White Russian” in literal translation.

I would lOVE to see Andre in K-1~
Speaking of K-1, Badr Hari is said to being offered an mma match against either cro cop or alistar set to take place at the Dynamite NYE show!

nice! that’d be awesome if it happens. just hope whoever he fights isn’t going in to take him down in the first 5 seconds..

Can’t wait to see this!
Andrei and Fedor are my two favourite fighters, I am just hoping for a WAR! Arlovski is on fire right now and if Fedor wipes the floor clean with him, he will go down as the best MMA HW of all time!
by DownUnder on Dec 9, 2008 8:22 PM EST reply actions
Told you yesterday, this is a great thing for him and for his fans. Don’t see how it can be a failure, it’s to promote the fighter and gain sponsors, for a very small investment. This isn’t a movie with a multi million dollar budget.

All im sayin is Arlovski’s lethal uppercuts might be crucial against Fedor’s looping hooks.
by xsprawlerx on Dec 9, 2008 10:37 PM EST reply actions
This is real good for all parties involved. Arlovski. Affliction. Even Fedor. It’s gonna add hype to the fight and gain exposure for the event.
By the way, Arlovski is bad action. Arlovski by 2nd round KO.
by Craig on Dec 9, 2008 11:14 PM EST reply actions
no matter if you’re a massive fedor ballsnuggler like jonnyboy, arlovski is a total bad ass. he seems to have a pretty on point team around him.
by Phil Baloni on Dec 9, 2008 11:27 PM EST reply actions
tin silvya beat him twice….not the same fighter now, but just saying
by JoW on Dec 9, 2008 11:57 PM EST up reply actions
and andrei beat tim the first time just as fast as fedor did….just saying
by ActionJackson on Dec 10, 2008 12:41 AM EST up reply actions
Hahahaha, I’m not a ballsnuggler like you wish to call it… as a matter of fact I’ve never liked Fedor and I never will, is it wrong to be realistic in here?
-
So long they’re feeding him life like boogers I pick Fedor to win… oh yes I’d love to see Fedor lose bigtime that would’ve realy made my day THOUGH someone like Arlovski can’t do it, he hust can’t do it.
-
So now you can take off your VR helmet and get of your tricycle, welcome to the reality where Arlovski is just another win for Fedor.
Do YOU for real think that Arlovski is the one that is going to break Fedor?
Too bad for you that the doctors don’t do brain transplantations… because you’re in need of it you, you clever person you.

This is going to a great fight. AA and Fedor are my fav fighters, but I think Fedor is more technical fighter than AA.
by zheka. on Dec 10, 2008 3:27 AM EST reply actions
To all those that do not believe AA can beat Fedor, who can then? I’ve heard people say Barnett in a few other related threads but even then, many concede Barnett may not actually get the win but just be one of the few to take him into decision.
With that being said, who really stands a legitimate chance of besting the Russion Emperor?
If he beats AA, then goes on to beat Barnett (provided Barnett gets by Aleks) then who will beat him?
Personally, based on AA’s striking and TDD, out of the Top10 HW’s who have yet to face Fedor, I say he’s got the most realistic chance of beating him because I believe his hands to be better. Barnett’s strengths are subs and wrestling and he’s not greater than Fedor in either category. ex: Cro Cop was able to take Barnett down.
After Fedors next 2 fights (AA & Barnett) there is no one left for him to fight that is a real threat. There may be some good challenges like Brock or Overeem for an exotic example but in those cases Fedor only loses if he beats himself because theyre definately not better fighters. Not to mention he’ll never get to fight Brock unless they’re both inside or outside the UFC.
He’s not my favorite fighter but I’m definately a Fedor fan and and Arlovski fan. Call me a hugger if you choose but I’m only trying to flesh out the facts here and I hope you all join me by adding some thoughtful commentary.
by Machine on Dec 10, 2008 1:33 PM EST reply actions
I know he’ll win over Arlovski, I also think that Barnett is going to win over Aleks.
Prolly after that Barnett will get his shot against Fedor and maybe Aleks and Arlovski also are going to fight.
In my world Barnett is a bigger threat against Fedor, I know he won’t win but maybe he could make the fight go more than two rounds, maybe even to a decision.
If Aleks and Arlovski would fight I pick Aleks to win, Arlovski have way better chance here than versus Fedor but I can’t see him winning this, but there is a slight chance in winning this for Arlovski and that’s if Aleks comes not prepared enough.
Ok, I believe you’re wrong there, well his striking have improved… even late Ray Charles can see that.
His takedown defence is ok, not very good though… when Fedor want to take him down he’ll successfully doing so easily.
Exact, Josh ain’t better.
Well I’ve been a huge Mirko fan when it comes to his K-1 and Pride FC era, when it comes to UFC era Mirko he didn’t do a single good fight IMO.
When Mirko did take Josh Barnett down Mirko was good and he did a good job.
There are still fights for Fedor, but they wont happen I suppose.
Randy Couture still have a bigger chance at winning over Fedor than both AA and Josh.
Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin are two others that in lets say 2 more years in the UFC could and should be very good oponents for Fedor, but right now outside of the UFC there ain’t that much, well he can sign with K-1 for one fight against Kimbo Slice… not a good fight but certainly fun.
You’re not a hugger or whatever, you’re a regular fan.
I don’t bash other fans favourite fighters, Fedor and Arlovski are two hard working men… I’m not a fan though.
We can’t agree on most aspects, though it was a good post and I hope you get more answers.
by JonnyBoy on Dec 10, 2008 3:12 PM EST up reply actions
Thanks JohnnyBoy. Is it that Barnett has greater sub defense that makes you think he stands a better chance against Fedor than AA? I’ll admit that if AA gets caught up in a ground scramble with Fedor he’s potentially in big trouble but I do think if he keeps it on the feet and finds his timing and range he’ll have the best chance of winning. I say Arlovksi needs to push the pace and pressure Fedor from start to finish. Its the best chance hes got.
I’m picking Barnett over Aleks too but if Aleks and AA fight I’m picking Arlovski unless Aleks lands a heavy shot. I say AA has better hands than Aleks.
Cro Cop in his Pride/K1 days was a beast but only because he knew what he was good at and stuck to it. The ring favored his stalking style because its smaller and he could cut the corners off. Also if things got to the ground it was easier to get stood up in PRIDE, not to mention the pauses for cuts and then repositioning on the mat. All that gave guys like Cro Cop added advantages to recover that you dont see as often in UFC. Its sad to see him as a shadow of his former self.

What I wanna know is if this guy plucks his eyebrows. They are kinda womany ;o)) Of course I wouldn’t tell him this to his face…

Why not?
You don’t want to hear about the great big story why he’s plucking them?
I bet he shaves his purse too, I suppose you’ll find THAT very interresting.

Most people expect fedor to win, but how about this: Fedor always keeps his hands pretty low before he explodes with looping punches. Arlovski has great speed and power, if his right straight cross connects the figth is over.
If it hits the mat…fedor all the way, but standing up its an open fight. Lets not hope arlovski gets gunshy and only tries to defend the takedown

1 punch KO a possiblity for AA then? anythigs possible.
hmmm…
but AA,
must have more than that up his sleeve.
having the crusty old boxing coach/personality makes his camp look naive (rememberr this is MMA) – I almost have to wonder if they hope that Fedor will simply think that if he avoids boxing that’ll be enough – I doubt they are so naive to think that AA’s camp is so naive.
SHOULD BE INTERESTING.
FEDOR hits hard. Sylvia’s giant head was stunned pretty good- half of those punches might shatter AA’s chin. Fedor isn’t known for KO’s as he prefers to save his hands and sub a stunned opponent. he actually doesnt have to to hit QUITE so hard with AA’s chin.
