John, I was just thinking the same thing, looking for the odds to open up on that fight, I’m thinking about putting the $$ down on Yoshida.

by O damn he got caught on Dec 8, 2008 3:40 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

if hes +220 like he was against karo im going to bet it all

by brendan on Dec 8, 2008 4:11 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

putting down money on Yoshida for sure. I havent really seen any underdogs in a main event that jumped at me to where I was positive that an upset was coming. I feel it in this fight. Yoshida is going to use Kos’s aggression and momentum to dump him on his head Judo style and proceed to ground n pound away! Yoshida is a very smart and analytical fighter…he will have a great game plan to beat Kos and I see him doing it!

All the stars are aligning for an upset:
1) Kos took a beating about a month ago from Alves
2) Kos is going int the fight without a clear mind. This is obviously his LAST UFC fight and its going to weigh on his mind
3) Training for 2 completely different fighters over the span of a month and a half, should seriously cripple Kos’s performance!

by the way, I was reading a Yoshida interview and they asked him who he would like to fight if he got past Kos….Yoshida replied… Diego Sanchez! Now thats a bad ass match up!

Is the UFC EVER going to air a F’in Ben Saunders fight? I love that guy! Get him some TV time already!

by john on Dec 8, 2008 5:18 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

JOHN. i like saunders too. i dont know why they keep putting him on the back-burner.

by b.w. on Dec 8, 2008 5:54 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Talk about a Bright Future! Saunders is going to be an amazing fighter one day…Until then he is so strong Mentally that it will carry him in most of his fights!

I would really like to see Crueder vs. Saunders…now thats worthy of a televised UFN fight!

by john on Dec 8, 2008 6:17 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

i think saunders/crueder would be a nice fight. i would also like to see him fight the barncat(2 very tall wws) or matt brown.

Koscheck has (3) losses. Alves, GSP, and his first L against Drew Fickett.

Swick, hasn’t looked interesting since Okami beat him.

Indeed.

by MMAmania on Dec 8, 2008 12:55 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

So Swick didn’t look that good against Marcus Davis? I am very confused by your comment as a whole.

by psyqo78 on Dec 8, 2008 2:55 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

He didn’t look good against Burkman either.

by James S on Dec 8, 2008 4:08 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

didnt look good against louisea either… played the points game and basically ran away the entire thrid round… not much of a fan of swick

Koscheck’s last fight in the UFC… See ya later you douche. Go to XC and get subbed by Shields, a$$hole.

by BNF on Dec 8, 2008 12:56 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

XC is over remeber

by LOKIE on Dec 8, 2008 1:34 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Not for long Lokie. They are very close to being bought and resurected.

by BNF on Dec 8, 2008 1:37 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Thats what I read also, I just have my doubts. I really hope I am wrong because I actually enjoyed XC. It wasnt the UFC, but it was a good show. Didnt mean to call you out or anything I just dont see it being realistic at this point.

by LOKIE on Dec 8, 2008 1:59 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

All good… I liked most XC shows as well. But there are a few fighters I want to see in the UFC. Sheilds, Feijao, Rogers, Cameos, Bigfoot.

by BNF on Dec 8, 2008 2:04 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Agreed, especially Sheilds

by LOKIE on Dec 8, 2008 2:08 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

youre actually admitting to liking something other than the UFC BNF? wow…

by brendan on Dec 8, 2008 3:51 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I like all MMA, but the UFC is clearly my favorite. Unlike you and introtard, I choose not to bash the best thing around.

by BNF on Dec 8, 2008 4:03 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

no you just bash everything else and hope it fails… youre what they call a “fairweather fan” you like it while its the top dog, but as soon as something happens you will switch sides immediately, i bet you were a patriots fan until they lost the superbowl and cant hang this season eh? now youre probably all over the giants nuts… lol, i wipe guys like you off my size 11 daily…

by brendan on Dec 8, 2008 5:02 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Brendan,What is wrong with having a favorite? Should everyone hate on them because you and Oscar the freakin’ grouch (introvert) do? I watch all the MMA I possibly can and enjoy it all but the UFC is definitely my and obviously 99% of the fighters favorite organization as well. I read BNF’s comments alot and don’t see anything that would warrant an assumption like you made.

by Psyqo78®™ on Dec 8, 2008 6:35 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

i read his comments alot also, and he is always trashing on affliction and elite xc, even dream… and when i say a few things about the UFC i get half the guys on this site coming down on me, so how are you guys any better than me? like you said, what is wrong with having a favorite?

by brendan on Dec 8, 2008 8:08 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

When did I bash Dream or XC? I just said I liked XC. The first Affliction show was NOT good, so I talk sh*t, so what. The difference is I don’t go onto every Affliction thread to spew hate like you guys. Everytime you guys get an opportunity you bash the UFC. I like Dream, XC, Strikeforce, ect… I don’t like Affliction. Go ahead and make up some more sh*t about me.

What??! How can Sanchez/McCully not be the main event? No doubt the entire world will collectively be on the edge of their seats fixated on every blow of this epic battle between these two titans of MMA. It will be the war to end all wars!!

by CL on Dec 8, 2008 1:05 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

lol

by McArthur on Dec 8, 2008 1:32 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I COULDN’T AGREE MORE CL, THESE TWO ARE TITANS. I can’t wait to see this clash of superior technique and athleticism. The superior technical striking/footwork of Sanchez or the genius grappling and gnp technique of the insane one?

by O damn he got caught on Dec 8, 2008 3:50 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

does this mean open to the regular public or just military personnel? “For those in town for the UFC special military event remember that the weigh-ins are FREE to attend and open to the public for military personnel in the area.”

Lame that this will not be televised… i don’t understand why not… what do they have to lose…

by IhitU.uHITfloor on Dec 8, 2008 1:54 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Mania: I believe that you have some incorrect information when you stated that “It will not air on television of be streamed live over the Internet.”

I just checked the UFC website and it had this to say; “UFC® Fight for the Troops will be a 3 hour live event to benefit the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The fight will be aired free on Spike at 6pm Pacific Time / 9pm Eastern, and viewers will be able to call in their donations to help the National Intrepid Center for Excellence.”

Thats the fight night itself, the post says the weigh in wont be shown

by LOKIE on Dec 8, 2008 2:01 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Aside from the main event this card is pretty lackluster to say the least.Although the Wiman and Miller fight should be good also. You can tell Swick really kisses Dana’s ass getting a match up with Johnathon Goulet and his glass jaw.How the fuck do you go from wins over Burkman and Marcus Davis to getting a fight with Goulet. When you win fights your suppose take a step up in competition not a step back.I hope Goulet knocks him out cold.

by tyler on Dec 8, 2008 2:30 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Goulet is no slouch, just cause he got caught by Duane ludwig running into a punch doesn’t mean he has a glass jaw. It’s the only time he’s been ko’d in the UFC. His last fight was pretty damn entertaining, I wouldn’t mind seeing him get a win over Swick.

by O damn he got caught on Dec 8, 2008 3:55 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I hate goulet, but I wouldnt mind seeing anyone beat Swick! I wish he would go “Swick out” somewhere else! I hate it that Swick is in the UFC….it drives me crazy!

Not that I dont recognize his talent, I just cant stand him or the way he fights

by john on Dec 8, 2008 4:18 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

its open to the public for military personel. wtf does that mean.

by djhbv23 on Dec 8, 2008 2:41 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Meaning its open to the public if they have access to the base. ( wives, or going with a buddy stationed there, ect) Meaning if you can get on base, you can go without being in the service

by LOKIE on Dec 8, 2008 3:26 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

thats what i thought but it was kinda confusing. i was at sports usa for the de la hoya/manny fight saturday and they were handing out flyers for it. ill go for lunch and stay for the show.

by djhbv23 on Dec 8, 2008 4:36 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

They have arranged something with Fort Bragg to allow all public to attend. I doubt it though. I went to jump school there, and cant see them doing that.

by allamerican on Dec 8, 2008 5:34 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

You caught it….. I believe he has, I just hate when people assume how bad a card is going to be. First off it is free and you would think people will learn after all the 91 talk.
