I am a HUGE mma fan as you all know, but Hari is one of my favorite fighters in all combat sports. I am a bigtime closet K-1 fan.

I wish I could purchase K-1 events on dvd on a regular basis!

hell yeah that grand prix was outstanding! i will be following future K1 events vry rigorously and will definitely be putting money on badr, very talented guy and has nothing but good things ahead of him!

by brendan on Dec 8, 2008 4:49 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Heard he’s getting six months suspension which is nothing IMO. Should be made to sit out for a year. Errol was my guy for this GP, i thought we would see a K-1 alvarez. Man was i wrong.

i would agree with you if he really did knock bonjasky out while grounded, but bonjasky was pretty much just being a b**ch and wanted the easy way out… so i say, immediate rematch!

by brendan on Dec 8, 2008 5:03 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I agree, suspension is just too f’in ridiculous.. suspension for what? he barely touched him! then you saw Bonjasky looking up and after a second or 2 decided to lay down and act like he had gotten hurt..

The most idiotic rumor that I have heard all year was that Kimbo vs. Hari would go down in K-1!!!!! LMAO, that would Never happen! Kimbo has a better chance of sticking a shotgun down his throat, pulling the trigger and trying to survive that, than a fight with this Bad ASS Striker!

I would love to see a picture of the noodle that started that silly rumor!

It’s amazing how people see what they want to see.You can’t have a guy ignore the referee and do whatever the hell he wants too. Don’t you get it? Or are you completely gone?

by tyler on Dec 8, 2008 6:48 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Lets not forget Remy stopped his last two opponents with kicks and was schooling Badr. Bonjaski has water tight defense, was clearly winning the fight and Hari out of frustration and fear of losing threw the match and ruined the final. Hari isn’t a beast or a bad boy, hes a bitch.

by paniczoo on Dec 8, 2008 6:51 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

ofc tyler i’m not stupid.. it’s the same as in other sports you get a penalty when you break the rules and i think it was enough to disqualify Badr for what he did, suspension i think is too much.. he did not hit him with anything serious.. if he wanted to he could have killed the ref and then went after Remy..

by RoB on Dec 8, 2008 7:07 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

“if he wanted to he could have killed the ref and then went after Remy”.What kind of a response it that? What is going through your head? “he did not hit him with anything serious”. So what you’re saying is the fact he broke the rules but didn’t land any decisive strikes means he gets a pass.If he would have done a lot of damage in your mind what’s the right punishment a $20.00 fine? You can’t be objectionable on this subject because you’re clearly hanging on Badr Hari’s nutz and can’t see the fact the guy snapped for a moment and something has to be done about it.

by tyler on Dec 8, 2008 7:19 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

that makes no sense RoB, maybe Remy should have stomped his face when he knocked him down

by neihrick on Dec 8, 2008 7:36 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

what’s going through my head is that i’m pissed about ppl bitching about a suspension, this is a combat sport what’s the deal, ppl lose their minds in hockey games too.. Hari got punished for what he did and they could fine him, but the thing is who would’ve cared if Bonjasky just stood up right away like we all know he could have and fought!? i’m watching the fight right now and it just makes me even more furious, some sports today are getting too gay..

Great post Rob! I agree!

Absolutely loved watching this event on HDnet. It was simply fantastic. Badr is just one crazy individual, as once again proven by his comments in the interview.

Everybody makes it sound like the guy in invincible. Did all of you ever see him fight??? He has an AWFUL chin – a chin that makes it hard to bet on him. Remmy slapped him with a 1/4 strength open hand slap (Werdum/Arlovski style) and he was dropped. He got dropped in his semi final fight as well. Although, I must admit that I was rooting for Badr from the beginning. Remmy was MILKING that kick acting like he couldnt see. If Badr kept his cool the whole time instead of smack talking the entire Borjansky corner, and Remmy didnt’ pull out an Oscar worthy performance.
then its possible the fight could have continued.

For those that watched the event – how about Melvin Manhoeff’s KO!!

by ViolentMike on Dec 9, 2008 9:58 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

So a guy blantantly breaks the rules showing no class, no honor, no sportsmanship and the guy who got stomped is being called a pussy? I think Hari wanted a way out, so he stomped on Remy’s face!

by 1-0 via Arm Triangle on Dec 9, 2008 11:06 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I don’t know about Hari’s chin, Zimmerman’s right hand was brutal.. many guys would’ve gone to sleep just look at Chuck Liddell, i’d say he has a pretty good chin and an amazing ability to recover from devastating blows! also the Bonjasky slap wasn’t what dropped him, he ducked under Remy’s flying knee attempt and fell cause he was off balance.. but hey it was an amazing night and i can’t wait for next year’s GP finals!

by RoB on Dec 9, 2008 2:23 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

hari is a beast, if he wants to fight on the ground there is always mma.. if he trains a little takedown defense..

by shamo84 on Dec 8, 2008 4:56 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

The guy seems like he really regrets it doesn’t he.What a joke he should get a 1 year suspension at the least. He’s also had 1 MMA match already like 5 years ago and he was tapped out quickly.

by tyler on Dec 8, 2008 5:08 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

hes just a total bad ass, cant see it in him to apologize lol… but at the same time, he is right about bonjasky just wanting to have his hand raised at the end of the day

by brendan on Dec 8, 2008 5:09 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

What do you mean that he didn’t want to fight? He already beat him before and knocked him on his ass the first round. This guy’s trying to insinuate that if he didn’t DQ he would have won which is debatable to say the least.

by tyler on Dec 8, 2008 6:40 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

What Hari did was plain stupid and he deserves the punishment, but come on, everybody has seen the replay. He barely touches Remy and he just acts like shoot down. That is dirty, and coward too, and I could understand it if he were losing, but he was way ahead in points, so I can“t understand how a fighter can be so coward.

Remy was my favorite K-1 fighter till that night. I think he deserves some saction too for that acting.

by tarao on Dec 10, 2008 10:21 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I agree, what a joke. I like when he was asked if he would do it again " I dont know, but ill try to stay calm in the future’ that statement is rediculouse, that guy is obviously a prick

by LOKIE on Dec 8, 2008 5:25 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

oh come on, who cares if he is a bad guy and does something like that from time to time, that’s entertaining.

by shamo84 on Dec 8, 2008 5:29 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

lokie…How do u even know what he said? I for one, dont usual trust translators!

I would love to see Hari vs. Gilbert Yvel in a stand up war! 2 nasty Mofo’s going at it, and Yvel would get DESTROYED!

by john on Dec 8, 2008 6:14 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

lol come on john thats like kimbo vs jerome lebanner or something… not even competitive!

by brendan on Dec 8, 2008 7:03 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

You’re are right Kimbo would break his fucking jaw.

by tyler on Dec 8, 2008 10:06 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Slow down Brendan! Yvel might not be a great mma fighter but he is an amazing Muy Tai striker! I would love to see that fight! I never understood Why Gilbert fought in mma. I always felt that his game was more suited for K-1.

by john on Dec 8, 2008 10:18 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

1 yrs atleast? what are you smoking, so someone should get a 3 year suspension for knocking someone out cold too? it wasn’t even a stomp he just pushed his face down with his foot.. Bonjasky was definitely faking and wanted the paycheck, bottom line is that Badr did not hurt him.. Badr is the man and is the best out there! would love to see him knocking some MMA tough guys out

by RoB on Dec 8, 2008 5:26 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Are you nuts? You can’t have a guy commit a foul then when the referee is checking on the other fighter and is between the two on the ground this jackass still tries to stomp him. What kind of a comparison is a knockout warranting a suspension and illegal strikes? Do you even have any idea what you’re saying or did you just want to post a comment.Talk about putting words in someone’s mouth and twisting things around.

by tyler on Dec 8, 2008 6:46 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

no, i’m not nuts and i made the comment to namenotrequired.. because he thought that Badr should get a 1 year suspension for what he did.. i made the horrible comparison just to clarify how stupid and lame it would be to give Badr a 6 month and even more so a 1 yr suspension that would be insane imo..

by RoB on Dec 8, 2008 8:54 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

yeah man this dudes sick. even though he stomped remy im still a big fan

by Jared on Dec 8, 2008 5:11 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

K-1 is awesome. I started watching back when Hoost was coming up. Great events. Unfortunate ending to a great night but Hari is a beast. Feel bad for La Banner though. That body has been through so many wars.

by kukuxumusu on Dec 8, 2008 5:23 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Doesn’t matter if Bonjasky was really hurt or not, you don’t do that crap, especially when the ref if is smack in the middle of the fiasco. I am no Hari hater, but guy needs to learn some composure. If you guys weren’t swinging from his gonads, then you would be seeing a bit clearer.

by Ace on Dec 8, 2008 6:21 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I’d like to see Hari/Schilt, badr was asking for that fight, and i hope schilt fucks him up

by neihrick on Dec 8, 2008 7:29 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

badr is at even money at least… he schooled hong man choi who is the same size as schilt

by brendan on Dec 8, 2008 8:03 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Bahh its bs that they suspended him fuck Remy i dont like that bitch anymore. But Badr seriously needs to keep himself in check he cant be doing that kinda stupid shit.

by Khaos_Warrior on Dec 8, 2008 7:34 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I can’t believe this!!! Have you ever had a heelkick on your head while down? Come on man, he had double vision and a headache. The doctors stopped the fight not Remy!

And for your information, the next day after woking up he still had double vision and was checked again. He’s back in Holland now and went to the doctor for a check up (AGAIN).

Easy to say he should get op and fight when it’s not your head on the canvas…losers.

Hari has no place in K1, remember him punching Graham at a press converence? Or going balistic because Karaev won the match? He should be suspended for live!

Badr hari is very talented he just needs to calm down.
