God I still remember what a war Griffin/Bonnar 1 was. It wasn’t very technical, but it was 15 minutes of nonstop, swing for the fences action. And Dana and the Fertitas did the honorable thing by offering Bonnar a contract too. At the end of that fight, I wonder if Dana went up to the two of them and said “You two have just made me a very wealthy man”…lol. I was working that night but I had my VCR set up to tape it, and I got a call from a friend while I was at work and he said he wasn’t going to tell me the outcome, but it was an amazing fight.

See what happened was, I just became a fan of MMA when Brock Lesnar became the HW champ, and I know next to nothing about any other fighter". Hey utaptout, seems with this new thread that you have been a MMA fan since back in the days of tuf 1, cause didnt you post that you just became a fan after Brock became the champ. So whats the real story ??

The real story was that I posted that YOU became a fan after UFC 91, and I was blasting you for talking smack about BJ. Go back and reread the comment. It was a play on your name. I have been a fan of MMA since the early days of the UFC, and got really into it during Pride’s glory days.

Actually ive been watching every since UFC 57 which was Liddell vs Coture 3. Ive only been able to attend one live event which was in Houston for UFC 69. So been a fan and avid watcher since that point in time. Favorite UFC fighters fyi are GSP, Liddell, Marquart, Yves Edwards( i know he isnt in the UFC anymore, Miguel Torres ( WEC ), and yea i like Brock, lets see how far he can advance his game and what kind of force he can become in MMA

Why would anyone waste their time watching two b-level fighters throw punches like women?

If it wasn’t in the UFC, you would probably recommend it to everyone here saying how the UFC never has a fight as exciting as this.

Nope…two newbies throwing haymakers (that wouldn’t hurt a fly) is nothing to brag about.
It’s like Arturo Gatti vs Mickey Ward…fun to watch, but the only reason it was entertaining is because they were both on the same level…level B.

Obviously you “wasted” your time watching that fight, right? They were very green to the sport at the time of course, but they have both improved leaps and bounds…and btw…Forrest is the UFC’s LHW champion. That means he is the 205 lb champion of the most relevantpromtion in our sport.

This is a step in the right direction as far as marketing a card goes.
