I’m excited… I got Phillipe, Vinny, Gouveia, Johnson, Kaplan, Kryzstof, Shane, Eliot, Tom, and John the Hugger. I wish they had a better main event, but I’m excited.

didnt the last TUF finale have fights like Diego vs. Luigi and Tanner vs. Grove? THis card is extremely lackluster and I dont understand why.
by john on Dec 4, 2008 2:31 PM EST up reply actions
JOHN. i would wait till the fights are over before i decided to trash them. you’re not the only person that ive seen that feels this way though, which makes me wonder if the ufc or mma will ever go to the networks or have a weekly series like boxing does with espn2’s friday night fights. these are the type of fights/fighters that one would see if mma were to have weekly shows.(im including next weeks ufn, which looks prety good to me for free) so would fans support mma weekly unless it has “star” or name fighters on every card?

Bader and Nover are my aces on this one…

What did you expect? It’s a TUF finale card. You’re not going to see any top guys. If you were a fan of this season, then this card will be fun to watch. If not, then you won’t. I enjoyed this season, so I’ll be watching.
Koscheck/Yoshida is a great fight on free TV. I’m not going to complain about that card, considering one of the most stacked UFC cards ever will be on PPV less than three weeks later.
by R-Dizzle on Dec 4, 2008 10:03 AM EST up reply actions
maybe you can enlighten me…what exactly was there to like about this season? mediocre fighters in very boring fights. Not much emphasis on training and blatent favoritism and total disregard for a contract (when it comes to Junie). If I were on that show, and assaulted by Junie, I would be suing Zuffa as well as spike T.V. I’m on a reality show and was given a guarantee of safety and not having to worry about being assaulted outside the octagon! In my eyes, zuffa and spike would be considered in breach of this guarantee!
by kevin on Dec 4, 2008 10:45 AM EST up reply actions
You’re acting like all of this just started happening on this season. Last time I checked, guys that lost on the show were fighting on the finale and in future UFC cards since TUF1.
Every season focuses on the drama in the house. Again, this has been happening since season 1. I would like to see more training too, but I realize at this point that it’s not going to happen. I’m still entertained by the show, though.
I think people tune in expecting to see world class fighters. Thats not the idea of the show. Was Forrest a world champion 3-4 years ago? No. Most of the guys are up and coming fighters who haven’t fully evolved as MMA fighters. Sure, Bader relies on his wrestling waaaay too much NOW. But, isn’t that exactly what Koscheck did? Yes, Josh Koscheck, the guy that is a top 5 WW in the world right now….
I thought the talent on this season’s show was better than the last 2 seasons by far. Two seasons ago Tommy Speer was fighting in the finale, are you kidding me? If you don’t like the format of the show, fine, but don’t act like it just started this season.
by R-Dizzle on Dec 4, 2008 11:13 AM EST up reply actions
you’re right to an extenty. I never watched the first season, but have tuned in since. If the things that are going on that stink is still going on, the UFC has every opportunity to change it. Do you think keeping Junie all season is going to deter people from assaulting others? obviously telling these guys they have to pay for what they break didn’t stop them either. The UFC has a good show here, they just need to put their foot down and end some of the Bull!
by kevin on Dec 4, 2008 11:32 AM EST up reply actions
I totally agree with that. Believe me, I would love to see more training. And I think Junie is an absolute disgrace to the sport, his family, himself, etc. But, something about the show still draws me in. And even though most of these guys won’t amount to anything in the UFC, or even in the sport, I’m still interested in watching them fight on the finale. I honestly feel that a handful of these guys have potential to make their mark in the UFC. I haven’t necessarily felt that way about a season since TUF 5. And I actually feel a little better about this season than I do TUF 5. Maybe that’s because a lot of these guys are young and green, and still have plenty of time to evolve as fighters.
We’ll see, though.
by R-Dizzle on Dec 4, 2008 1:49 PM EST up reply actions
I actually think Johnson might KO burns this time. Besides these three, i don’t know why anyone on here has a contract with zuffa. I say they all get canned after this.

Krzysztof is fighting on the finale with EVERY OTHER FIGHTER from the TUF cast. Are you honestly comparing his situation with Soko’s?
You guys really baffle me sometimes.
by R-Dizzle on Dec 4, 2008 9:38 PM EST up reply actions
Why is Junie televised? I am trying to forget him. I would much rather see Krzysztof Soszynski.
by Nate on Dec 4, 2008 8:11 AM EST reply actions
Agreed. Not a fan of Kaplan either but hopefully he drops Loonie in about 21 seconds and the UFC follows suit.
by JTD on Dec 4, 2008 8:21 AM EST up reply actions
It’s obvious that Dana sees him as a future star for some reason. He sees him as the next Chris Leben.
When Dana “asked” the guys what they wanted to do with Junie, he definitely manipulated them into keeping him in the house. FIRST, he told them that he wanted to see Junie fight. Then he asked Efrain if he still wanted to fight Junie. Like Efrain was going to say no to the president of the UFC? I guarantee you more than half of those guys wanted to send Junie packing before Dana had that conversation with them. Dana got want he wanted, though…
by R-Dizzle on Dec 4, 2008 10:10 AM EST up reply actions
Oh no more Junie, well at least he will only get to talk if he wins.
by sycboi on Dec 4, 2008 11:33 AM EST up reply actions

Thats a horrible comparison!! Ed might not be the best fighter to come out of tuff but he’s not a douch bag like junie browning!!
by mike22 on Dec 4, 2008 3:46 PM EST up reply actions
Good comparison…Junie is a total D-bag. Zero ground game and average stand up. This guy should just fade into obscurity.
by FukStyck on Dec 4, 2008 9:18 AM EST reply actions
He must have pics of Dana doing something cause there is noway that little douche bag should still be on the show. CAN WE SAY HEADCASE boys and girls. Hopefully Kalpan will knock him out in the finals.

I’ve heard alot of rumours about nest season…personally I think Marquart/Bisping would be a great choice….WolfSlair/Jackson…I also think Bisping/nate would be a great fight with Marquart eventually getting a sub victory…Thoughts???
by McArthur on Dec 4, 2008 9:22 AM EST reply actions
last season’s finale we had burkman v. hazelett, fisher v. stephens, sanchez v. fioravanti, and grove v. tanner. now we have browning v. kaplan. weak sauce. but i guess between fight for the troops and this, there will be some solid, FREE fights, so we shouldn’t complain too much.
by ActionJackson on Dec 4, 2008 10:02 AM EST reply actions
Exactly. And not to mention, the guys on this season were better fighters. That’s usually the way it goes when it’s broken down into 2 weight classes. They couldn’t do that with TUF 7, because then you would have fights like Jeremy May vs. Patrick Schultz.
by R-Dizzle on Dec 4, 2008 10:07 AM EST up reply actions
Some of you people can never be satisfied. Not every event is going to be a marketed as the greatest event in UFC history. Shut up and enjoy the fights, and save your bitching until after its done.
I pick:
Nover
Vinny
Wilson
Junie
Rumble
Eliot
Lawlor
Roop
Polowski
and probably Kryz
by Synyster on Dec 4, 2008 10:12 AM EST reply actions
I think it’s hard to complain when you get two free UFC cards over a three day period and then a massive stacked UFC card with two titles on the line just a fortnight after that!
You should also bear in mind that Zuffa put on WEC 37 last night too so December has been a good month for any MMA fan TV wise.

Main event (Televised):
155 lbs.: Phillipe Nover vs. Efrain Escudero to determine TUF 8 lightweight winner should be Nover but I will go out on a limb and say Escudero will win the decision. These guys are copies of each other.
Main card (Televised):
205 lbs.: Ryan Bader vs. Vinicius Magalhães to determine TUF 8 light heavyweight winner Will be Vini (I dont like him but he does what he does well)
185 lbs.: Wilson Gouveia (21–10) vs. Jason MacDonald (PLAY SMART AND HE SHOULD WIN)(11–5)
170 lbs.: Kevin Burns (7-1) vs. Anthony Johnson (HE WILL KO HIM IN THE FIRST 3 MInutes)(5-2)
155 lbs.: Junie Browning vs. Dave Kaplan (Seriously dont care who wins, although it could prove fun if kaplan acutally follows a better game plan than… I will let him hit me, ALOT)
Under card (May not be broadcast):
205 lbs.: Krzysztof Soszynski (NO DOUBT W)vs. Shane Primm
205 lbs.: Eliot Marshall (SAME HERE W) vs. Jules Bruchez
205 lbs.: Kyle Kingsbury vs. Tom Lawlor (WHO?)
155 lbs.: Shane Nelson vs. George Roop (WHO?)
155 lbs.: Rolando Delgado vs. John Polakowski (WHO???)
See a theme her with the last 3 fights no one cares……..

Since Junie’s BS on the show, I have lost interest. what hapened to Dana’s comments about not wanting MMA fighters to look like hoodlums and savages (ala JT Money). all those guys who got kicked off in prior seasons for lesser crimes – like the guy who missed his girlfriend – he was human, a little bit wussy, but not a psycho. I am not gonna watch this Finale or any other PPV fight in the future that Junie is on.

This is the worst card the UFC has ever put on Spike tv.I can’t believe that they didn’t put together a decent main event to go with all the TUF 8 casts fights.I’ll watch because I want to see Anthony"Rumble"Johnson knock someone’s fucking head off,but aside from that this card sucks!

Vinny and Nover are my picks to win.
Nover has shown he’s more than capable of getting it done. The man just displays such drive and determination when he’s in the octagon.Efrain has good skills to but I think Nover might just take this one
Vinny has some top level Jiu-Jitsu and is going up against a guy who’s main offense is take downs. We saw in the fight with Eliot Marshall that Bader’s take down’s are top notch but he didn’t do much once he had taken him down.If he does this against Vinny then I predict a Submission victory for Vinny

i went 4 for 5. i bet emotionally against june and the cunt showed me. i hate when children show me up. i’ll never bet on a june browning fight again. thank u efrain and bader. i had a hunch phillip didn’t wrestle enough and that cost him this time. i’m sure he’ll button that up and be very solid. punching power when used intelligently makes people who are better strikers not so better anymore. bader’s skill as a striker is a bit basic but he hits hard and that changes everything. you know the old boxer vs puncher cliche. that was decent overall.

did Vinny just say hes gunna beat Bader off … thought thats what i heard akward LOL

I thought both Vinny’s and Bader’s standup looked really awkward. I just don’t think Vinny can handle getting hit. I don’t even think he has a glass jaw, I just think when he gets hit he can’t handle it mentally and crumbles.

I was hoping my hometown boy would at least put up a fight, and he did for the first round, but caught a nasty head kick, which ultimately resulted in what I feared: an absolutely nasty AJ knockout.

am i the only one who saw that bader didn’t even hit vinny in the face with that tko. he like hit his arm and shoulder and vinny fell to the ground. his chin is very weak although he didn’t even get hit there.

I’m pretty sure it was from ‘Breakfast Club’. Hilarious. I’m glad he has a sense of humor, because he is a terrible fighter.
