I’m impressed that Junie can read. But seriously, this kid needs to spend more time with a therapist than a person who can train him to injure people more. All the potential in the world won’t matter if you are mentally weak.

Ill bet when he wakes up he pulls a kaplan and says he was “fine” and yell at the ref for twenty minutes. Haha and I love the look on his face in that pic, so much concentration ha.

From the commercials for this weeks episode, it looks like Junie gets kicked out and isnt even able to fight in the semi’s!

why not love the guy? hes entertaining i do think he’s better suited for jackass movies then TUF but the guy isnt a terrible fighter and isn’t scared to stand in and fight and not run around a cage for 15 mins

by randy murders on Nov 30, 2008 5:59 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I admit I take into account a fighter’s outside the cage personality when picking who I’ll become a fan of. In that aspect, I hold this kid in a very low regard. If, and I mean if, he can pull himself together, leave the stupid antics by the wayside, he might have a shot. But, he needs to do FAR better then he did during his last TUF fight. That was the worst fight of the year, IMO.

Junie is for Hollywood…

by Syd[a.k.a. "The Negation"] on Dec 1, 2008 4:17 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

As much as people’s aggravation with him is justified, he seems to me like a good guy at heart, and if he could just stop drinking, since he doesn’t have the ability to control himself, he could make it in the UFC.

Control is the biggest problem with drinkers. When I go to a bar, and start to feel a little too tipsy, I stop immediately and take a break. Since he doesn’t have that ability, he needs to stop ASAP for his own sake.

hey chef, I think he’ll lose in the semi’s!
what r you and the girls doing for christmas? I just got plane tickets (about an hour flight) for christmas day, me and the family are gonna go to san diego and go to the zoo, sea world and lego land for the weekend!
You’re turning into the weekend version of me…on way too much!! lol!

by kevin on Nov 30, 2008 9:23 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I’m hoping he will. But the drama will be better if he and Nover meet in the finals! Christmas is going to be more mellow this year. Last year relatives and cousins, nieces ‘n nephews all came to Richmond for a week or two (I have a HUGE family, we’re a bunch of f’in breeders, lol). And everybody can’t afford to do that every single year, so it’ll probably be me and my kids, then we’ll have to go visit my parents. Oh, cr@p, then we’ll get a visit from their mom’s g-mother, great. The zoo, seaworld and legoland sounds like a blast!!! None of that cool stuff in this neck o the woods. But man, would I love to live in area that doesn’t get colder than 60 or so. Plus we’ve had so many mild winters that we’re do for a nasty one soon.

I think he wins because Dana said that you will see why I kept him on,which seem to me that he wins in very impressive fashion,or it is a great fight

I dont even know if he will be allowed to fight in the semi’s! I have been watching comercials from this weeks episode and Junie FLIPS out, Looks like he might get kicked off and not be allowed to fight in the Semi’s!

Actually, BJ Penn’s Book of Knowledge has a ton of color pictures. Its an excellent supplement to your MMA/BJJ training. Add Eddie Bravo’s Mastering the Rubber Guard and Mastering the Twister, and Marcelo Garcia’s X-Guard book. Great pics with excellent insights.

All I know about Junie is what I have seen on the Ultimate Fighter; there are two more episodes left and even if he gets himself kicked off or if he loses; it doesn’t matter because he would have walked away from the show with a lot of valuable expereince and some difficult learning lessons, especially coming from a guy who has a past like that. As of right now, he actually might be doing pretty good physically and mentally, it is not for us to judge, to many people in this world like to shoot there mouth off about things they have no clue about. I will never knock anybody that goes on that show or is in the UFC because like many of us that give our opinion we never make it there or even come close to understand what its like for these talented fighters. Everybody has issues and makes mistakes, maybe some encouragment could go a long ways opposed to the endless trash talking that seems to circulate from some of these fans. Life is hard enough. I hope Junie has his act together and one day I look forward to seeing him deliver some kick ass performances in the Octagon, training at Extreme Couture and learning from Penn is awesome. Some of the smartest and intelligent people in the world are those who have lived a life of hell. It’s amazing to see him this far especially with a past like that, not many make it. Anybody can change, take ownership and work hard and for the rest of us who give comments, how about some compliments, respect and support for these talented fighters that we all love watching fight. Example Brock Lesnar look all the crap he has to face with idiots shooting their mouth off at him saying he didn’t deserve to be in the UFC and get a title shot. He worked his ass off and beat Couture and Herring and almost beat Mir, 4 fights and already I saw a change in his attitude from his post fight comments between Mir-Herring to Couture. To end I hope Liddell comes back and kicks some butt. There is no room for haters and doubters in this world. Period. Predictions for UFC 92-Forrest by decision, Mir by decision, and Rampage by decision, some of my answers are questionable, but I really don’t care who wins or if I am right as long as all the fighters deliver kick ass performances and an exciting fight. Can’t wait for 2009 GSP is too much for Penn and then I look forward to a possible GSP vs Silva. To early to predict that fight it will be awesome.

by Cory on Nov 30, 2008 6:36 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Good comment yo, but no one here actually HATES Junie. Were just F’in around. A pro athlete is always gonna catch crap, as a fan i will continue to judge and make opinions about every fighter i see. Also, you got a lot of Decision picks there. Good luck with those..

accually, i do hate him. ive met punks like him before. some people you dont need to know on a personal level to know thier type. this whole excuse of his “hard past life” is garbage. i had a tough shitty upbringing and so did alot of people, i dont use it as an excuse for stupid actions. i take full responsibility for all of my actions. hes a punk with a personality disorder. this isnt about being a professional or anything like that, he needs to be a man first and not a douche punk.

by Egads on Nov 30, 2008 6:54 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I wouldnt be his friend, ever. Though it seems he really does want to be a better person, he always regrets his stupid actions, that i can respect. Its people that act like that and dont feel guilt thinking their always right that should get the hate IMO. I’d love to see Junie fighting in a few years, after some anger management and all that. I do think he has the potential to be a good person, it will take a lot of time though. Anyhow i hope Nover knocks him back to KY, cause Novers a class-act!

by medecine balls on Nov 30, 2008 7:04 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

gets drunk and throws glasses at people and all sorts of dumb crap, then when sobers up says “aww shucks im sorry, i do dumb crap when im drunk”. similar MO to most abusive husbands. trash all the way in my book.

Im not saying he doesnt act trashy, im 100% with you on that. I just think he has the potential to be better. Not excusing his behavior in any way.

Cory,……..you are correct in that all we know of Junie we’ve seen on t.v. But what has he shown us, knowing he would be on tv? Having seen previous seasons? If he has a problem, he should not be knocked for it as long as he gets help. If he doesn’t, then f’him. Yup. F’him. It’s just that easy. See Cory, there are plenty of people who have had rough, hard lives. And those that have had that kind of life will jugde others by the same standards they put to themselves. But, bother with all that. It all, to me, boils down to a kid who is so stupid that he sees when he screws up, gets a second chance and then does it again….and again….and again….ad nauseum.Do I hate him? No. I nothing him.

Junie is to Dana as…….Pacman Jones is to Goodell?

i’m not sure what you were insinuating in your last post to me, but my only beef with you is that you’re complaining to mania that he moderates you when you degrade other people on HIS website about MMA, when other people, including myself, don’t want to have to sift through all the grade school name-calling and posts like, “your opinion is stupid” to get to some intelligent input about the sport. but in all fairness, i agree with you about junie… well put.

by ActionJackson on Nov 30, 2008 10:01 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I insinuate nothing towards you. I have no beef with anyone save when that particular person brings nationality into it. And they do it over and over and over. It irritates the **** out of me and I respond. Normally, I take my own advice and scroll down, but not always. lol

UFC interview for TUF
Junie: I want to fight and I am one step away from mental retardation so I will be good for ratings and will keep the guys entertained with my bi-polar personality.
Dana: Yeah you are one wild F#%&% retard, yeah do anything you want on the show and I won’t kick you off as long as you bring in ratings.

to earlier comments made, I myself have had one hell of a life, but I have changed and taken ownership, and I agree that Junie should do the same, I am not saying poor junie poor junie and use his past as an excuse of why he acts the way he does; myself and many others sometimes in order to change we have to hit a big wall and really let it sink it. I had to hit near death experiences in order to change and now I help others for a career not make the same mistakes. I think as far as UFC fighters go maybe Rampage did when he lost to forrest and the after events that had taken place, possibly Liddell, getting KO by Evans possibly might have awaken him to know to mix it up abit more or Matt Hughes when Alves beat him. I like GSP always improoving, doesn’t let his success go to his head and very respectful, maybe one day Junie will be like that hopefully. As we all know there are always people who never learn or change, lets just hope Junie can change cause he has some talent and I hate seeing people throw away their talents and gifts because their stuck in their ways. Finally; everyone entitled to their opinion.

It’s a great book, actually. I own a copy of it. Covers nearly all aspects of MMA. The only thing it didn’t include really was detailed striking in terms of kicks and knees. It is excellent for submission setups, escapes, sweeps, working against the cage, getting up, takedowns, combinations of ground work… it’s got all the vital MMA shit in there.

had dana kicked him he would’ve to stand behind his “no one has ever fought in the ufc after they’ve been kicked off the show”

that is why the show is a joke now, you dont even have to make it to the semi finals to even get into the UFC now.
