I don’t get how wand/rampage is even??? I got wand, but hope the “people” bet him into a dog!

I actually predicted that the Wandy-Rampage odds would come out even. And Sugar is just too tasty a bet to pass on…

AS a betting man, I will probably bet BIG on Minatouro and really small on Rampage and Rashad!
by john on Nov 29, 2008 3:40 PM EST up reply actions
Am gonna wait till the last day to place on Big Nog. From all the forums, I seriously think there are enough mir people to move the lines maybe 40 pts.

I will bet NOg soon. IMO he should be a -600 favorite so I am happy to take him at -350. I cant see too many idiots out there that would actually bet against NOgueira. The only person I would bet on against NOGueira is Fedor. I think NOg can beat every single other heavyweight out there. This line doesnt scare me at all!
BBig money on NOg!

frank mir at those odds is a damn good bet though, throw a good 400-500$ bet on him if he wins you make out pretty good, if he loses you lose nearly nothing..
nogueira has had problems in every single one of his UFC fights it just takes one guy to have more of a move to put him away and i think mir’s gonna do it.. nog had better stand up and submission then both herring and sylvia yet caught a lucky one on timmy and i didnt see the herring fight but almost got stopped so there isn’t a clearcut way he should be said to “run through” mir he hasnt ran through anybody in awhile
rashad too hes got a good chance

is anybody else concerned that nog has been dropped in his last couple fights?
by Brandon on Nov 30, 2008 4:17 AM EST up reply actions
No, nog always gets dropped, then comes back to win…thats why he is a legend and one of the most respected fighters in mma history!
Not worried at all!
Nog = Legend
Mir = Maybe top 15~
MISMATCH!
by john on Nov 30, 2008 7:56 AM EST up reply actions
the UFC hype machine is trying to market this as the fight b/t the best sub guys in MMA but that fight already happened 2 years ago and Nog won. Also Nog only gets dropped by beast strikers and unpredictable haymakers. Yet he still gets up. Mir is a can with no power. He’s probly thinking i’ll get him with a leglock like everyone and their mother doesn’t expect it.
by NameNotRequired on Nov 30, 2008 3:34 PM EST up reply actions
I doubt it.
Rashad has been getting lucky his entire UFC career (not that i think he’s terrible,I just think his record is better then he is) and I don’t expect him to take this, I expect he’ll get his legs kicked all to hell and try for some take downs and it will end up decision forest.
by ShaiZ on Dec 22, 2008 11:21 PM EST up reply actions
Even though Mir doesnt stand much of a chance against NOG. I cant pass up +225 on a BJJ black belt.
by c-war on Nov 29, 2008 1:27 PM EST reply actions
c-war, I’m not a betting man, so this is an honest question, no sarcasm intended. In general, why would you guys bet on a heavy underdog if you KNEW (or were 99% sure) they were going to lose. Isn’t that the same as flushing money down the toilet? Or is there a way to make another bet to even out your losses?
by chefdaddy on Nov 29, 2008 1:32 PM EST up reply actions
it all comes down to the long run i think, similar to poker. eventually betting on huge underdogs over and over one of them will eventually win and pay of bigger than all the losses.
by Egads on Nov 29, 2008 2:04 PM EST up reply actions
if u are that sure bet on NOG, u will get 1/3.5 of your money for free.
by shamo84 on Nov 29, 2008 2:09 PM EST up reply actions
Anyone can pull a Serra. Sometimes it pays to bet on the guy that is sure to lose.
by c-war on Nov 29, 2008 6:33 PM EST up reply actions
Not to someone with Nog’s chin and sub knowledge.
by NameNotRequired on Nov 29, 2008 7:50 PM EST up reply actions
Herring almost knocked him out with a kick. i think his chin has been questionable as of late.
by kitsunex on Nov 30, 2008 5:41 AM EST up reply actions
Since when ha Mir become a an MMA fighter with standup and th ablility to KO Nog? In 11 wins he has one fight won by TKO, against Wes Sims(who is an mma nobody). Now suddenly Mir is that guy that will shock the world with a punch or kick to a guy who has been hit by all the biggest punchers and baddest kickers in HW MMA. I do not see that happening, suspect chin or not in the last 2 fights. Nog is the only one to not get finished by Fedor. His only losses come from 2 splits to Henderson and Barnett and 2 from Fedor…Man I just do not see where Mir has the advantage. Nog is the stronger standing, I think is the stronger on the ground, has better experience in the big show and in fighter resume, and has been into the deep ends of a fight many more times then Mir. I do not see how Mir can win this fight!
by Da Monkey on Nov 30, 2008 9:00 AM EST up reply actions
It’s not going to be so Easy for Rashad.
And im laughing because most people think that Nogueira is going to run through Mir.
YOU WILL BE SURPRISED AT THAT IT WON’T B EASY FOR MINOTAURO.
HE MAY WIN BUT NOT IN A EASY FASHION AT ALL.
by CARNAGE on Nov 29, 2008 1:29 PM EST reply actions
But what from Mir’s history leads you to that conclusion? His heart? Chin? Cardio? Sub game against cans? Werdum’s submission game is lightyears ahead of both mir and nog yet he still handed him his ass.
by NameNotRequired on Nov 29, 2008 7:56 PM EST up reply actions
great post namenotrequired. Couldnt agree more. I get mad when I read some of these people’s posts. Do they nmot know what a Legend Nog is!
I have about 20 Nog fights on DVD, and yesterday I just sat in, got Baked and ate a boat load of Left overs watching almost every single one of Nogs fights…..and I feel bad for the fools who like Mir in this fight!
by john on Nov 30, 2008 7:58 AM EST up reply actions
That sounds like an awesome night. Man do you have all of his RINGS fights? I’ve been after those things for so long. Yea i can’t stand the way people talk about Mir’s ground game or them having a “feeling about this one.” He’s a McDojo black belt compared to Nog who got his from De La Riva. But like you said in time we’ll convince them of his greatness. Also great comment about Mir being a HW lutter. I couldn’t stop laughing.
by NameNotRequired on Nov 30, 2008 3:25 PM EST up reply actions
Silva and rampage are both -120, how’s that possible? WAR silva-i can see winner of rampage silva getting a title shot for some reason or atleast they’ll get winner of thiago machida for possible contender
by ricky on Nov 29, 2008 1:42 PM EST reply actions
I cant pass up on taking that action on Mir
Nogeria is in the home stretch of his career literally, the guy has been in to many tough battles, when I watched the hering and sylvia fights i couldnt help but think Man this guy looks slow and old and was desperate with telegraphed take down attempts.
He will always posses that magic anywhere on the matt but I see the younger LARGER stronger mir taking this fight. Mir will be coming in at around 256 he will be able to control where the fight takes place. nog will tip the scales at 228 he doesnt have knockout power and for those reasons I will be putting a heavy wager on Mir

2 white guys
2 black guys
2 brazilians.
How culturally progressive!
by charles on Nov 29, 2008 3:09 PM EST reply actions
Rashad evens will be the new LH champ come december with another knockout Rashad has the wresteling and striking advatage and forest has a weak chin
this is a great oppurtunity to make some real money with two underdogs coming out victories
by dia mette on Nov 29, 2008 3:09 PM EST reply actions
personally i don’t think forrests chin is as bad as people make it out to be, why do you say he has a weak chin, because rampage dropped him? and jardine finished him?, both of them can throw a pretty good punch and have good power, especially rampage who couldn’t KO him, i think rampage’s striking is 10x what rashad’s is and rampage couldn’t finish him, forrest took some good shots in his 1st fight with bonnar and didn’t go down and i don’t think his chin is as big a factor as people make it out to be, forrest has the reach advantage and the bjj advantage, i see him keeping rashad away and if he does get the takedown i see forrest getting back up or catching rashad in a sub, i think forrest will take this with a UD
by hughes on Nov 29, 2008 4:56 PM EST up reply actions
I threw down $50 on a Forrest Nog parlay.
Feel pretty good about it, think Rashad is going to fade in the 4th and 5th round hard – and if Nog doesnt screw up he should win no matter where the fight goes.
by WB on Nov 29, 2008 7:10 PM EST up reply actions
There is also the Couture factor for Forrest as much as I hate to say it. He still is training in Vegas and with Team Couture correct? You can never count out Coutures ability to put together a winning game plan in the most difficult of situations. I also agree with you on Forrest’s chin. I do not think it is as soft as everyone says. He got caught cleanly and by Jardine who has won nearly half of his fights with tkos. He took some of Rampage’s biggest punches, during several exchanges and hardly looked phased. I like Forrest’s chances in this fight.
by Da Monkey on Nov 30, 2008 9:20 AM EST up reply actions
I think all these fights are very close and hard to pick a winner. I guess logically you could lean towards nog over mir but I think the other two fights could go either way. Even if nog wins I think its going to be a tough fight, he hasnt looked overly impressive to me lately but neither has mir

I am extremely baffled that Rashad Evans is not more of an underdog. Let’s look at a few of his fights, he eeked out a victory over Bisping, it took him and entire three rounds to take out an aging Tito Ortiz (with the help of a cage grab), and he most recently knocked out Chuck Liddell. So overall nothing is overly impressing. How about this 5’ 11" Evans fighting a 6’ 4" Griffen. Griffen has superb takedown defense. If Evans does get Griffen on his back, Griffen is a wiz off his back. I just do not see Evans being able to win.
by Kevin Kelly on Nov 29, 2008 3:32 PM EST reply actions
i’ll take rampage at even odds…he wil be fit physically and mentally…no contest.
how easy we all forget…
by MATT ENGLISH on Nov 29, 2008 5:59 PM EST reply actions
Im thinking Rampage and Griffin! remember Evans got lucky as Chuck was winning! i see Griffin winning rounds easy.
by Tony on Nov 29, 2008 8:37 PM EST reply actions
I dont know about Evans geting lucky. He fought a a smart fight and took advantage of chucks wild punches. Forest got handed by Jardine and I think Evans will do the same.

Betting on Mir seems like a win-win situation. If Mir wins, you win the money. If he loses, you get the pleasure of seeing him get his arogant butt kicked.
by Kevin on Nov 29, 2008 8:48 PM EST reply actions
yeah ,but you really do not get to enjoy it if he loses

Sorry im a bit off subject but does anyone else think randy coture vs anderson silva at 205 would be an interesting match up? I think randy would have a hell of a chance beating anderson any thoughts?
by RK on Nov 30, 2008 12:32 AM EST reply actions
Off subject yes, would be a great match, but it will never happen
by scott on Nov 30, 2008 1:17 AM EST up reply actions
I think this match up makes more sense than matching silva up with liddell then the winner of this match fights the loser of the 205 title match to be in line for a title shot
by RK on Nov 30, 2008 3:06 AM EST up reply actions
Jackson Nog and Griffin are the smart bets here.

anyone got preditcions on the gsp penn fight? the odds not the outcome, i say it is gonna be like -360 GSP and -280 penn
by Nish on Dec 1, 2008 1:40 AM EST reply actions
I’d LOVE to be the house on that one! LOL
Also, there is no way that GSP will be that big of a favorite. BJ could be fighting Anderson Silva or Jesus and he still wouldn’t be in the +200 range. You will never get BJ above +200 against anyone.
by ViolentMike on Dec 1, 2008 12:25 PM EST up reply actions
i never said PLUS 280 lol i said MINUS 280 lmao
by Nish on Dec 1, 2008 11:41 PM EST up reply actions
In my opinion Mir is pretty much only a cheap copy of Nogueira, and i really cannot see him beating Nogueira in any area. Nogueira is considered to have the best BJJ in the business combined with one hell of a chin and endurance, and ofcourse the boxing skills he possesses.
Nogueira has never been knocked out or submitted either. He holds a record of 31 wins with 4 losses. His 4 losses are all by decision which from only 2 are unanimous and were against Fedor. The two other losses are split decisions.
After having an overall view of this fight, I dont have to hesitate putting my money on Nogueira.
