I can’t wait til Nog beats Mir and Nog vs. Lesnar happens. I’m sick of this ‘interm’ crap the UFC gave Nog. Randy was out. He left the UFC. IMO – Nog IS the current UFC HW Champ – Not Lesnar. This isn’t WWE with the interm belt, the intercontinental belt, the tag team belts….bullshido!
If Lesnar beats Nog, I’ll give Lesnar all the props in the world…even though skill set vs skill set, I hate watching Lesnar fight..

I waited in line at a bar last night to get in for 45 minutes. The bar was bumping with tons of hot chicks. Then I saw this poster on the wall, so I said f.u.c.k. this place and I stole the poster and left. lol well worth it, I am so pumped for this card.

Just wait til the day when a girl tries to chat you up during the fights and you get p.o.ed and blow her off! I went to talk again to this girl I did that to during the Leben/Bisping fight, and she goes,“No, you were rude to me.”lol Hey, it helps to find women who like MMA!!!

hey off subject it would have been cool for UFC 100 if like there were four/five ‘for the belt fights’ every fight on the main card for the belt in each weight class….. ‘UFC 100 Night of Champions’… i mean does anyone know what the UFC are doing for # 100 …? oh and ya this promo is sick great great card…
by bDavid on Nov 28, 2008 5:19 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
That would never happen. Think of how long some of those belts would be on hold before and after the event.

Great promo. I think this might be the best promo to date. Anyways, Im at a toss up for the Griffin/Evans match. It could really go either way. I have a feeling that Evans will knock out Griffin. Griffin might fall into the exact same scenario as Chucky. Hopefully he doesnt just try to bang. Rampage is going to get hurt this time. Im actually wondering if this fight is the Rampage death match. I really think that it will mess his head up more than anything else. He might think Silva is the devil? I have Nog by sub.

Going to be a long night
Griffin-UD
Nog-UD
Silva-TKO Round 2

I agree with your picks except Nog by UD,if it goes to decision I believe that will benefit Mir,Nog,if he wins it will be in third round by tapout

Rampage KO

If Rashard doesn’t TKO Forrest, then Forrest wins a decision coz of his activity

Depends, what does the undercard look like? Rampage Silva will be the front runner though
by 1-0 via Arm Triangle on Nov 28, 2008 8:09 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
i don’t think the wandy, rampage fight will go very long. my bet that one will get KO of the night, i think mir has it in him to 5 i think he is gonna be more prepared than most give him credit for
by Nish on Nov 29, 2008 3:48 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Hardest to call in my mind is the Wandi/Rampage fight. Still cant get myself to pick one.
Then Forrest and Rashad, im gonna have to go with Rashad. In the same way he avoided all trouble and dealt with Chuck’s reach, I think he will do the same with Forrest no problem, and on the ground, Rashad is capapble of dominating positioning I believe, Forrest ain’t gonna sub him.
And easiest of course is the HW interim title fight, NOG and MIR will inevitably go to the ground, where Nog’s ground game will prove to be superior.
by The Anomaly on Nov 28, 2008 5:27 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Mir will once again prove that he is indeed a mediocre fighter. I just hope that we dont have to see the clip of him breaking Timmay’s arm over and over again before this fight.
by stevo on Nov 28, 2008 5:56 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
pop quiz. Who is the only top 10 heavyweight mir has fought in his entire career?
Answer: Tim Sylvia
I’d be wanting that sub over a guy with no ground game who took me down for no reason highlighted as well if he was the only ranked fighter I’d ever faced.

That’s what ive been saying Stoppable, Mir’s BJJ has been tested against MUCH lesser opponents than Nog’s, and non of these lesser opponents really speacialized in BJJ themselves.

Rashad – Decision
Nog – Sub in 4th

Wow, you really have to dig to find a highlight from any of Forrest’s fights. Not that he isnt a good fighter – but he doesn’t exactly have the highlight reel of past LHW champs. Maybe they should have showed a clip of him crying after the Jardine KO??
by stevo on Nov 28, 2008 5:45 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
on paper the best ufc card to date possibly!! i cant wait for this one!
Rashad imo will be just too quick for forrest.
nog will get the better of mir in what i see being a close fight!
and i cant decide for the life of me whois taking the page v wandi 3 fight?
guys any rumours yet for ufc 95 im not gettinmuch help here?
does anyone agree with chuck v jardine 2 and a silva v ??
by mo on Nov 28, 2008 5:51 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Rashad vs Forrest: I think I would have Forrest on this one. I see it going the distance and I think it will be close, but Forrest seems to survive the better scraps. I am not sure Rashad has been tested in this area.
Nog vs Mir: Nog all the way. I definitely want to see Nog take Frank out.
Page vs Wand: I think Rampage will be in for a surprise. I see Wand coming into this fight stronger than ever.
Chuck: He probably needs to retire.
by Grembone on Nov 29, 2008 12:14 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I agree that these promo clips are getting better and better. Seems like they’re trying harder to get fans emotionally attached to these fighters…and it’s working!
Every fight could go either way. Obviously the favorites are Griffin, Nog and Silva but their opponents are no slouches.
Not that I don’t think Mir is good enough, but I don’t see how he’ll beat Noguiera at all. I’m actually going with Rashad Evans and of course, I can’t go against Wanderlei. He’s the man and The Axe Murderer for a reason.
by Marauder on Nov 28, 2008 6:06 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Anyone who thinks Mir is going to go the full 5 rounds is wishful thinking and to think if he does he’s going to win is crazy.

by Colin D on Nov 28, 2008 7:25 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Call me crazy because if it goes to the 5th round,Mir will win by UD.I do not like it,but that is what will happen,Nog will have to submit him in the 3rd or 4th round to win.Hopefully we will see Nog win by submission
by scott on Nov 28, 2008 10:34 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I’m curious as to how you think Mir will possibly win a UD. His best chance is to get Nog in a leglock. Nog’s been subbed there before (in ADCC, but still), and was nearly subbed by Barnett with a kneebar in their first fight. So if Mir is going to win, that’s his best bet.
Besides that, he doesn’t have the cardio to keep up with Nog for 5 rounds. And he’s going to lose the standup. I guess he could try to lnp for 5 rounds, but he doesn’t have the wrestling to do that, and again doesn’t have the cardio for it. Either he catches Nog in a kneebar early on, or he loses in the 3rd by tko/sub when he’s too gassed to defend himself.

Frank Mir says in the video “I don’t care if it’s my Mom in there, I’ll break her arm to get my belt back.”
Frank is now Matt Hughes status as far as being one of the biggest A-holes in MMA.

do you guys think rampage is going to stand and trade with wandy or try and take him down,i cant see him standing with him myself i feel his best shot at winning is taking him down and keeping him down
by brad on Nov 28, 2008 7:06 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Easier said than done… remember Silva is a black belt. A lot of people forget that!
by 1-0 via Arm Triangle on Nov 28, 2008 8:52 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Agree his best shot is taking him down. He did well both fights when he had Wanderlei down, even hurting him pretty bad in their second fight. Rampage has the wrestling to get Wanderlei down and should use it. Otherwise I see him getting overwhelmed by Wanderlei’s aggressiveness again. That is his biggest weakness is a fighter pressuring him big time. Wanderlei has done it twice, and it’s exactly what Shogun did to him when they fought.

wtf my comment did show up
but this event is going to be amazing. I love the part where the rampage-silva portion comes on and they play that epic music. That fight just spells EPIC WAR I hope the winner wins by knockout, it lasts longer than the first round, and the winner gets a title shot. Evans and Griffin will be amazing as well. I hope rashad’s got his cardio up and his hands ready cause im pullin for him to beat grifffin.
by Jared on Nov 28, 2008 7:46 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I am pulling for Evans on this one too like it or not. I think he will come in with a hell of a gameplan and will execute like Jardine did.

After seeing this promo i now fully believe my idol Rampage will take Wandy and its a pity cus i ws jus startd 2 like Silva aswel. the deciding factor for me was that Wandy mentioned his KNEE’s wich he has not shown in the octagon yet and i dont see him puttin dem on show for rampage either cus the octagon has changed wandy for the worse and Page for the good. This is possibly the most anticipated fight EVER in my eyes wif the second bein chuck and Rampage. I see rampage by decision!!!!
also rashad by decision ( i just see griffin in tears for sum reason) and Nogueira by ressurrection from the dead (the usual) hah
by Randy for Couture on Nov 28, 2008 7:53 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Mir may be able to break his own mammas arm if she gets in his way but there’s no way Nog will end up in that position. Come to think of it, Mir’s mom probably has better cardio than Frank and would end up with the UD!
by mma_dad on Nov 28, 2008 9:18 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I am telling you now,if it goes to decision ,get ready to see Mir the winner.Nog,to win will have to be by sub. in the 3rd or 4th round,if it goes to the 5th get ready to see an upset

by scott on Nov 28, 2008 10:43 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Does not use it? He uses his striking all the time, especially when he’s against other dangerous ground fighters. A good example is his fight with Werdum, who he avoided the ground against and outsruck for a decision win.

Nogueira is not that great guys! Atleast in my opinion. I mean the guy lost to RICCO RODRIGUEZ. Technically he lost because the judges stole the fight from him and then gave it to NOGueira but if you look at that fight and really believe that Nog won-you’re lying to yourself! HE LOST. TO RICCO!
And then he looks like crap against both Heath and TIM sylvia!
Guys don’t count Mir out. He might not be TOP 5 but he is young and he his skilled on the ground and that can cause some challenges for NOG.
DON’T COUNT MIR OUT. OHH, AND I DN’T C RASHAD BEATING FOREST, AT ALL. HE’S NO SLOUCH. HE COMES TO PROVE SOMETHING, AND SINCE THAT JARDINE FIGHT HE DOESN’T DISSAPOINT. ONE OF THE HARDEST WORKING FIGHTERS.
by CARNAGE on Nov 29, 2008 12:14 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Since we’re talking about past fights, go watch Mir vs Ian Freeman. I’d talk about judges robbing someone, but Mir didn’t even make it out of the first round. He couldn’t even stand up after the beating Freeman gave him.
And then he looks like crap against Brandon Vera and Pe de Pano, 2 more 1 sided beatings by unranked fighters.
by yohnstoppable on Nov 29, 2008 12:32 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
and wheen he looked like crap against Dan Christison too..
by RoB on Nov 29, 2008 7:38 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
You cant talk about past fights especially ones that long ago… I mean oyu honestly think Mir in UFC 38 is the same as Mir in UFC 92? No way… and same goes for Nog. You cant talkabout his past fights cause they were under different rules in Pride. Thats why i consider this rampage vs Wandy 1, not 3. The other 2 fights were under different rules, way different!

true true, but lets get straight to december 27th then. we’re gonna see Nogueira outbox Mir knock him down and just overwhelm his with strikes until the fight can’t go on any longer..

Rampage is going to overwhelm Wanderlei in the Octagon. This isn’t Pride. Even though Rampage is coming off a lose, he will rise to the occasion and show the dominance we all know he is capable of. I don’t see Mir beating Nogiera. Rashad is going to Knock Out Forrest in the first round.
