FIGHTING POLITICS has been submitted to the 25 largest film festivals for screenings, more dates to be released soon.
SYNOPSIS:
Cage fighter Matt "The Law" Lindland had to earn his nickname the hard way, through perseverance and a good lawyer. Hopefully he’ll shower before putting on the suit. I’ve heard this guy stinks (like actually stinks).

why cause Rampage said it in a few interviews?
by newfie on Nov 22, 2008 10:31 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
In the 2000 Olympic trials in Dallas,Texas, Lindland wrestled Keith Sieracki in a qualifying match. During the match, Lindland bit Sieracki’s ear! He lost the match, buncha other dirty politics after that, got a re-match and won.
Also, he does stink, Rampage and other fighter have said that. I think i heard he does it on purpose as psychological warefare.
I would like to see that documentary, White didn’t like him because he wasn’t all that exciting… BS issues.

this could turn out to be bad for mma…..
by allamerican on Nov 22, 2008 9:28 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Not the movie, but the information (if true and unbiased)could certainly give Dana another black eye.
by chefdaddy on Nov 22, 2008 11:32 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
HOpefully it does! I love Dana for everything he has done for mma…..but he needs a leash around his neck… There has to be a system of checks and Balances so Dana doesnt go on one of his ego power trips.

Lindland put everyone to sleep. His fights are boring, now imagine reading his book…

I agree. I honestly could care less about Matt Lindland. Do I think he should be in the UFC? Yes. Does it bother me that he isn’t? No. Do I think he would be the MW champion? Not a chance in hell.
by naturalshadow on Nov 22, 2008 2:05 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Exactly after that i was thinking “come on sherwood – MW champion. I know you don’t like zuffa but there’s no need for such ridiculous statements.” I expected it from everyone else though especially loretta and gross.
by NameNotRequired on Nov 22, 2008 4:44 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Sherwood is a joke. If you are going to run a website about pro athletes, then you should look like you could at least be able to get out of a chair without someone’s help. I think you can actually watch him get fatter by the second.

We’re here, just getting moderated all over the place. lol. and No J.D. for me. But I’d love a draft and a goldschlager.

I’m long past my tequila days. I’ve had my experiences with that. No mas!!!

Dana is really losing face fast IMO. This thing hits the same week as Fitch has to go over Dana’s head to Lorenzo to get some shit done. That makes him look like Lorenzo’s bitch. I’m sure the ego won’t be able to take that too long.
by Flash on Nov 22, 2008 9:46 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Dana’s A@@ is gonna end up in jail sooner or later! Probably for tax evasion! If he isn’t caught for other fraudulent things first! I say the sooner, the better!
by Dana's a Crossdresser on Nov 22, 2008 9:49 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
wow once again dana is getting exposed for treating people like shit. dana is a tyrant, i still like the guy but look the f out if you cross him. but at the same time the ufc would not be what it is today without him. if the nfl and nba had a guy like him at the healm there would be a lot less bs from the atheletes who think they are bigger than the game. at least with dana we know nobody is bigger than the ufc and as a fan i love it. you either come to work & walk the line or get the fuck out! DO YOU WANT TO BE A FUCKING FIGHTER!!!!
by day1er on Nov 22, 2008 10:40 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
I totally agree. Dana is an ass, but his managment style is perfect for the UFC and for the growth of the UFC. MMA wouldn’t be where it is without him. You have to take the good with the bad.

I wonder if the film makers realize a documentary is supposed to be unbiased recording of an event or history? They seem a little one sided in that movie, (I’m in the film biz and generally you have both sides shown it makes for a more interesting doc.) I’ll still watch to see how much of his ear-biting/ technical wins they talk about.
by sycboi on Nov 22, 2008 11:19 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
The documentary is about Lindland and his life, of course it’s one sided, it’s about his story. Your comment makes no sense and your suppose to be in the film business, yeah right, and I’m Trumps right hand man.
by Rubberman on Nov 22, 2008 12:41 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
You know he is because he used the word “biz”…..

worked on x-men 1-3, Lost in the woods 2, the Magician’s house, G.O.D (or guaranteed overnight delivery), the Ripper, any (budget)movie made on Vancouver Island and countless shitty documentaries which are supposed to be about both sides of its subject, but hey that’s just basic first year film school sh*t I wouldn’t know anything about ’cuz you two know who the f*ck I am? Sorry I said biz and expect more than an infomercial as a documentary.
by sycboi on Nov 22, 2008 8:42 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Chill there sycboi aka Karo “do you know who the f**k I am” If a documentary is about a person and his experiences, that’s what it’s about, his experiences. I’ve worked in movies also, Debbie does Dallas, Deepthroat and so on.
by Rubberman on Nov 22, 2008 10:03 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Oh yeah, Deepthroat was a tear jerker, well maybe not tear, all the women got all choked up on the set. That was cheesey, but so is Karo.
by Rubberman on Nov 22, 2008 10:07 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Are you serious? I have yet to see one unbiased documentary. I agree: it makes for a more interesting documentary but interesting doesn’t sell; controversy does.

I was not a fan of Lindlands fighting style but I did not mind watching him fight. To me Sherk is more boring. Lindland backed down from no one was always calling out fighters, I liked his attitude. His fights with Phil Baroni are classics they really show what Lindland is made of. I hear the non washing thing is an old wrestling trick to put your opponents off when fighting. A lot of people don’t like him he is defiately no GSP, but I really do not mind him at all. Whether you like him or not, he was completely shafted by the UFC, he could definately of held the belt at some point if they hadn’t of done the dirty on him. He wouldn’t have kept it though.
by Ade on Nov 22, 2008 12:28 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
No, he certainly would not have kept it. He could keep from washing himself for a month and Silva would still knock the stink off of him.

So what was shirt that got him in troble with the ufc?
by big billy on Nov 22, 2008 12:49 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I think it was an affliction shirt, but not sure.
by chefdaddy on Nov 22, 2008 1:24 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
affliction? affliction wasnt even around when lindland got the boot. years off. youre really slipping chef.

by b.w. on Nov 22, 2008 2:26 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
yep. he knew he wasnt supposed to wear it, but did it anyway. this was before tuf and before the sport really took off.

Randy and Evan wore the same shirt, the same day… hmmm?

This documentary could be very damaging to the reputaiotn of the UFC and MMA, it someone picks it up this could spell trouble, I’m mad at matt for doing this. he’s just in it for the money.
trailer looks very good though.
by john on Nov 22, 2008 2:07 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Only be mad if there are falsehoods in the book, you cant be mad at the truth, however damaging.
by chefdaddy on Nov 22, 2008 5:18 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
that wasnt the real me Chef! I like the behind the scene crap being exposed
by john on Nov 22, 2008 7:02 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I don’t think this will damage the UFC at all. Some hardcore fans will watch it, but most couldn’t care less. There have been a bunch of Wrestling documentaries that made the WWE look bad, but Vince McMahon is not standing in the soup line yet.
by naturalshadow on Nov 22, 2008 10:57 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
If it does well at festivals it could go mainstream.

I love Fedor, but when he fought Lindland it didn’t look good and yeah Fedor grabbed the ropes and changes the momentum of the fight. Lindland is one tuff sob that won’t back down from anyone, I would guarantee he would have turned Rich into a pretzel and taken the belt with ease and Dana knew that and was looking for a way to get rid of him cause he ain’t no pretty boy.
by Bigmcmac on Nov 23, 2008 11:36 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Fedor him take a shower before the fight in his fight contract with him ha ha ha ha too funny.
by nathan on Nov 23, 2008 2:55 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Yes, the trailer looks one sided…But, I have see the whole movie. Not nearly as one sided as some of you hope. When everyone finds out who’s idea this film was you are all going to fall out of your chairs.

Where did you see it? At Matt’s house with his commador 64 editing machine?
by danafan on Nov 26, 2008 5:22 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Commador 64, haha, does anybody have one of those still? Bootleg copy somebody left out, oops. Surprised it hasnt found its way online yet. It wasnt the Dana bashfest I was expecting. It was a pretty unbiased pic…

I heard that Rich Franklin set up the meet between the filmmaker and Lindland. Not sure that I understand why, but?
