am a fan of both. never count randy out of anything and always rooting for him, HOWEVER after his year and a half ridiculus debolce which ended in nothing but lost money, lost time, and lost respect i could care less if THE NEXT BIG THING (which i fully believe) comes out victorious….

if randy loses and a drop to 205 and fight with Anderson would be GREAT!

if Brock loses a fight with either Carwin or Velasquez is in order………or a feeding of Kongo for rep

either way the best outcome overall would be a randy vs nog however a rematch of champions in lesnar vs mir would be intruiging as well.

just for kick ill add this:
FAVORITE IN EACH WEIGHT CLASS (UFC)
155- Penn (sherk close behind)
170- GSP
185- Franklin
205- Wandy
Heavy- Brock (as i’ve watched him since his wrastl’n days)

and Silva is not on your list? Hmmmmm, arguably the best p4p fighter in the world, is undefeated in the UFC (8-0) and has beat Franklin twice by TKO……. and still not on your list? Boy you crazy

He was only listing his favorite fighters for each weight class…not the best ones.

If randy loses(and there is a chance) then i don’t see Carwin or Velasquez getting a shot at brock anytime soon.. first off he’ll lose against big nog or mir both will submite his ass first round- BUT i wouldnt’ mind seeing lesnar vs congo… knock that silly ape back to reality after his discusting fight against heath, he knockd out that bum and says he wants a title shot, and walks out on Rogan while he’s asking him questions lost tons of respect for congo at that point.. WAR RANDY!!! i thought lesnar is taller than randy too so i don’t think he’ll have much of a reach advantage.. just size and strength..

In a rematch, I don’t see Mir winning a second time.

me neither….. people seem to count Brock out rather easily…. they will learn Chef, they will learn

Mir barely won the first time. It was very close to being stopped. I give him props for pulling off a slick submission, but for as short a fight as it was, Mir took a good pounding. Also, Mir dropped from a much weaker shot than the one Brock landed on Heath. If that same punch hit Mir, I think that would be all she wrote.

I think Brcok would beat the snot out of Mir in a rematch!

I think that Mir would catch Brock again. Any TOP BJJ guy will be able to submit a wrestler that is new to the sport. That is fact. Otherwise, that person should no longer be considered a TOP BJJ guy. In the UFC HW division, there are only two, Mir and Nog. If Lesnar does pound Randy out, there is no way I see him getting past Nog. I say that because there is no way I see Mir getting past Nog… Randy vs Nog and Randy vs Brock are the two best matchups out all the combinations of 4 fighters.

by ViolentMike on Nov 14, 2008 10:10 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I actually think Brock would keep a rematch with Mir standing up.

by john on Nov 14, 2008 10:26 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Brock won’t make that mistake again. Mir will go to his back when Borck punches him. Then he will make Mir stand up and punch him again. Repeat until Mir super-athletically taps due to strikes.

Ricky, who are you calling APE?

by Ty on Nov 14, 2008 9:24 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

My guess would be Cheick Kongo

by ViolentMike on Nov 14, 2008 10:10 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

You say feed him Kongo like Kongo has no Chance. Only beacause Herring beat Kongo it doesnt mean that Lesner can. Kongo is as good a striker as Lesner is a wrestler. Jardine beat Chuck, Chuck beat Silva, but Jardine got taken out in the first round against Silva. Kongo has the striking ability to take out anyone and he will definately test Lesners’ chin and and legs with strikes. I was really looking forward to the match up and for Lesner prove himself. Beating Herring the way he did was not deserving of a title shot, but whatever sells tickets I guess. The heavyweight diviision is such a joke.

155: Clay Guida
170-Fitch
185: Silva
205: Forrest (favorite overall)
heavyweight: Brock (being from minny and watching him at the U and in wwf/wwe)

work on that cardio brock i dont think the fight will be a quick fight i think randy will bring brock into deep water, but brock will be able to swim

Brock TKO 4th round

true that LUKEINSHANGHAI! i would hate for this fight to be over in 30 seconds after all the hype, but it could be over quick! randy needs to be really light on his feet, move laterally, and when it goes down, he has to end up on top! if not, it might be over quick. i’m nervously picking couture…he knows what he’s gotta do if he wants to win. doing that though, is a different story.

I have to cast my vote for Randy…. Everyone keeps talking about Lesnars size but I think that is a stupid argument…. I dont mean to compare Lesnar to Kimbo slice but if Kimbo has done anything for MMA it is to prove that size dose not determine a fight…. Yes Lesnar’s size is a threat but I dont think it as a greater threat then Randy’s experience…. Lesnar is becoming a MMA fighter and Randy IS a MMA fighter…..

In my opinion I dont think Lesnar even deserves a title shot at all….. what has he done to deserve it??? I understand that the UFC is a business and is out to make money, and that is exactly what they are doing with this fight…. when they refer to this fight as the biggest fight in UFC history its only due to the PPV draw that this fight is expecting….. It is by far the biggest fight in UFC history due to significance …… Look at guys like Lyoto Machida, or Kenny Florian, or even Rashad Evans…… they have all had one hell of a road to travel to get to a title fight…. Lyoto and Rashad are undefeated and still have yet to fight for a belt….. Im glad Rashad gets his chance against Forest and I hope Lyoto gets the winner of that fight…. but the point is that the only thing Brock has done to deserve to be in the same ring as Randy is bring a ton of retarded WWE fans with him to the UFC…… Do I resent Dana for setting up this fight…… well if you look at it in a business stand point “HELL NO”, but if you look at it in an MMA stand point “HELL YES”

I still dont quite agree with this fight even if Brock is huge and his size poses an interesting match up with Randy’s experience, Brocks youth vrs Randys age, and both fighters wrestling backgroud. id like to have seen brock pay his dues a little more first. But in MMA anyone can beat anyone on any given day….. So you can bet your ass I will be watching

by Peter Sessions on Nov 14, 2008 8:44 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Couldn’t agree more. Although not as bad as the whole Kimbo disgrace, the fact is this fight should not be taking place until he earns his stripes. It is really all about the money. And how he behaved after his last fight is just a disgrace. It would be best for MMA if he loses and loses big..

by Rand on Nov 14, 2008 10:00 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Did you say that his is “by far the biggest fight in UFC history due to significance”? I don’t think that’s what you meant. And did you juxtapose "if you look at it in a business stand point "HELL NO", but if you look at it in an MMA stand point "HELL YES"? If not it kind of defeats your argument. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t smoking crack.

Randy couture is going to win this is mma not wwf it’s real

by joe on Nov 14, 2008 10:02 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

My prediction is a Lesnar decision. It doesn’t have anything to do with his size, it’s his stength and wrestling that will win it. Randy will not have the same benefit of fighting a guy that is just going to stand and trade (i.e. Tim), therefore Randy’s stance in striking will have to be alot more defensive than it was against Tim…..therefore Randy will not be landing all of those shots against Brock. Brock will pick Randy up and slam him on his head….multiple times….on route to a boring decision (with very little punches thrown on the feet).

Truth

by introvert on Nov 14, 2008 10:47 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

I dont know…Randy has been KO’d twice by Chuck Liddell and I think if Brock hits him with a heath herring style punch, Randy may go down. I love seeing the “old guys” win, but Brock is a freak of nature and introvert is right, Tim just wanted to stand and bang, not to mention Tim was in HORRIBLE shape when he and Randy fought. I have a feeling that Brock is going to steamroll Randy, I hope I’m wrong, but it will be a sad day to see Randy getting tossed like a rag doll against Brock. Only time will tell…..

What other HW in the UFC should of been the one to fight Randy?

by rydinlow on Nov 14, 2008 12:29 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Seriously, for all of Dana’s constant bitching about Kimbo not deserving to headline shows, he sure has given Lesnar a lot. Don’t get me wrong, I agree that Kimbo should not have been headlining shows, but it was all about the money. That’s the EXACT same reason Dana’s putting Lesnar out there like this. Hypocritical prick
