Unbeaten light heavyweight contenders Lyoto Machida and Thiago Silva are also expected to finally collide to determine the top division contender to start the 2009 fight season.
Here is the UFC 94 tickets sales schedule (all times are ET):
UFC Fight Club presale: Thursday, November 13 at 1 p.m.
UFC Newsletter presale: Saturday, November 15 at 1 p.m.

I’m not a big fan of the “Fight Club” Pre-Sale. I bought tickets to UFC 90 seconds after they released them. I could only get $200 seats. Even more frustrating, there were more $100 seats that became available when they opened to the public. Plus, there were guys at the arena selling seats in my same section for $150. I may wait and get them from stub-hub this go around.

Stub Hub is usually the best way to go or split membership with someone for the Fight Club if you don’t wanna pay. On a side note, 09 is gonna be the year of Tavares. At 94, He’s gonna lay a stomping on Gamburyan and start a warpath to the title.

Have you ever been to the MGM Arena? I want to go so bad to Vegas! Ive had 2 trips fall apart on me! I had thought about the Couture/Lesnar but it came too quickly!
by JV on Nov 7, 2008 9:26 AM EST up reply actions
nah I havent been there yet JV….lookin forward to it though.
I was planning on going to see Lesnar/couture back when I thought Wandy vs. Rampage would be the co-main event…once that fell apart, i backed out!

I’ve seen the same thing recently, but fight club was a must on the Canadian PPV. Actually I think that’s the one that messed everything up. I remember reading that the UFC didn’t think they’d sell so many tickets so fast. I think the release a certain amount of tickets and save some for the general public, which does in my opinion defeat the purpose of fight club. They should do it like they used to, release the tickets and let the fight club do what they do, or stop with the fight club and it’s a free for all. I think limiting the amount of tickets is not a good idea.
by Shadyone33 on Nov 7, 2008 9:48 AM EST up reply actions
The reason I asked john is cause I looked up some tickets for Couture/Lesnar and they were like $1000! And I couldnt make out in what section I would be in. I would rather ask someone thats been, so I could get the best seats for the best price, know what I mean!

JV, I have been to the MGM twice and it is so much fun. I went to Chuck/Rampage and BJ/Sherk. If you get an opportunity to go to a live UFC event, DO IT. The best seats at the MGM are the ones that a slightly elevated. Maybe 10-20 rows up from the floor. You can see right over the cage. Stay at the MGM too, you will see all the fighters just walk through the casino.
by BNF on Nov 7, 2008 9:54 AM EST up reply actions
Thats why you the man BNF!!! See, thats what I wanted to know. I have already looked at some trips and the MGM is where I wanted to stay. First I just wanted to go to Vegas just to go! But I figured I might as well go to a UFC event too! What do those seats cost?
by JV on Nov 7, 2008 10:00 AM EST up reply actions
The price will depend on the event. Chuck/Rampage I paid $750 a seat and was 2 rows off the floor. We had to look through the cage, so they were okay. BJ/Sherk was in the same priced section just higher up, like 20 rows off the floor. Those tickets were $450. The same seats for Chuck would have been $750. Like I said the $ depends on the event. This event will probably be expensive, but even if you sit in the middle of the road priced seats you can see pretty good. Overall, The best sporting event I have attended live. Plus you get to be there for 5 hours so you get a lot for your money.

I had the same problem with fight club. Except I wanted a ticket on the floor in the first 5 rows at ufc 81. They didn’t release any of the really close seats until the general public sale. I’ll be at 94, but now I want a nose bleed seat for as cheap as possible, so I’ll probably wait for the general sale. This card is going to be off the charts even if only half of the rumored fights actually materialize. Hell, even if only Penn/St. Pierre were on the card, it’d be worth going. I’ve been to ufc’s in Houston, Anaheim, and Vegas. Vegas is the way to go for sure. The fights are three times better if you have some $ on them
by Josh H. on Nov 7, 2008 11:09 AM EST up reply actions
I agree, the Fight Club got bad seats for 88 and 91. I ended up not even going to 91 b/c I was on seconds after it opened and clearly they were holding back a ton of seats, the 75 and 150 were not available for 4 seats together. There is just no way that is right. They now sell all the high end seats first and then the cheaper seats last, thanks “fight club”
what a joke!
by slash on Nov 7, 2008 12:39 AM EST reply actions
thank god 94 isnt like 91, a main event and nothing else! this should be a good card!

I know. 94 looks better than the year end’s event.
by KAS on Nov 7, 2008 9:16 AM EST up reply actions
UFC 91 is looking pretty lame right now, but you never know. UFC “stacked” had nothing but potentially amazing fights and it sucked. UFC 80 on the other hand looked terrible on paper, and ended up being one of my favorites.

WTH is BJ thinking?! First of all, there are tons of people he could and should be fighting at LW. Second of all, he is overweight in Welter. I hope GSP really puts a stop to this foolishness.

Ill write your name down on the list with the other GSPers. Dude, BJ busted George up last time in less then 3 minutes, worse than any other fighter ever has, even 5 rounds with John Fitch couldnt replicate that damage, be realistic man. BJ has beaten Gomi, Sherk, Pulver, Serra, Thomas, Stevenson, Uno, etc at LTWT, no one at LTWT is hanging with this in-shape BJ Penn, sorry. George and Matt could barely get by him!!! (And Matt didnt get past him the first time, didnt even make it out of round one, in his PRIME!)(Not to mention the 2 Gracies he’s faught at 185 lbs and decisioned. Plus having the balls to fight Machida, at HVWT!!!) COME ON!!!!! F*cking haters man!!! Rediculous! There are some fun fights at LTWT though, but no one at LTWT is giving him a serious run for his money. He wants to move up for exactly this reason, his fans want him to fight real comp, like Georges. Forget this LTWT crap!!!! It was fun, but BJ is going back to where he belongs, amongst the top WLWT’s in the world and beyond. While George forever treads water in the WLWT division. Climb the WLWT ladder or own its belt for a while, thats all George will ever do. The WLWT division is just a brief stop for us and BJ Penn before he moves on to bigger and better goals. Period.

Put my name on that list too. If and when, in my humble opinion, Georges defeats BJ, what then? Will he go back to lightweight, or will he fight some of the current WW contenders? I don’t like this move for BJ for the same reason I don’t think Georges could move up and beat Anderson. I hope the January fight lives up to the hype, and we get a battle.
by DH on Nov 7, 2008 12:36 PM EST up reply actions
Here we go again. An eye poke, and a grazing uppercut broke GSP’s nose. Yeah he looked messed up, but last i checked, this isnt Brazil, and fights are not judged on appearance of damage. BJ also has tough skin….never seen him cut at all.
BJ has beaten Gomi, Sherk, Pulver, Serra, Thomas, Stevenson, Uno, etc.
GSP has beaten BJ, Sherk, Serra, Fitch, Hughes (in his prime, and then once after, BJ is 1 and 1 there), Karo, Kos, etc.
Id be willing to bet that GSP would dummy the same guys BJ has beaten. I almost hope GSP loses the fight by decision, but busts up BJ badly so we can make the same BS reasonings.

As far as the fans are concerned, I’m saying this may be the biggest fight in UFC history.

Gsp WILL embarrass the prodigy like gsp’s last 4 opponents. This fight won’t be anything like there last fight just like serra 1 was nothing like serra 2, gsp will have a great game plan and send penn back to the light weight division with his tail between his legs where he belongs. AdamG man you need to calm down, is penn your boyfriend or something? Penn moving to bigger and better things, HA HA HA HA HA. Penn is a little weighter weight most 185lbs would own him and the spider would kill him in the first round. Penn has one dimensional stand up, no leg kicks and is great off his back, has next to no ability to put another fighter on there back so if he’s losing the stand up war he loses, plain and simple. If you were smart you’d calm down a bit because when you boy loses you’ll look like tool. I remember all the serra fans on here too, fitch fans, hughes fans ha ha, I’m interested to see what the penn fans have to say when gsp beats penn again.
by nathan on Nov 7, 2008 12:11 PM EST reply actions
So he has progressed so much that he is going to go from not even hitting BJ Penn to completely embarrassing him, come down to earth bro. Seriously. I havent looked like a tool on this site in over 2 years bro. I just keep betting on Penn, a sure thing. Ask Gord ‘bout that = ) GSP’s a nutjob! Therapy seeker = )
by ( (AdamG ) ) on Nov 7, 2008 3:59 PM EST up reply actions
BJ Penn is gonna win. Here is why: GSP may have great takedowns but then what? BJ Penn has too much jiu jitsu to get submitted and might even get the tap on GSP. When standing slight edge to GSP. Penn dominated GSP last time until he ran out of gas. Both are far better than the last time they fought but BJ wants it more. He walked through the lightweights best and it is the most stacked division. BJ by omoplata round 4.
by hatteras on Nov 7, 2008 1:32 PM EST reply actions
Holy bloody Mary, this is a sick card………
After this fight, we won’t see BJ in the WW division anymore. Yeah, I saw their first fight, I have it on DVD, but sorry BJ fans, that was so long ago and by the way GSP won that fight fair and square. He was the worse looking between the two after the fight but true MMA fans knew why.
GSP has improve so much and so has BJ, but at their level now, I must believe GSP physical advantage will make him a sure winner, TKO.
by Lucas on Nov 7, 2008 2:08 PM EST reply actions
He never hit him? he hit him several times, one head kick, several leg kicks, some to the face he just never cut, or damaged penn like penn did to gsp in the first 2 minutes of round one, watch the fight again. I believe gsp’s bjj has improved greatly since there first meeting which penn never did anything, not even close to a sub where gsp was passing penns guard at the end of round 3. Penns boxing looks just as good in gsp/penn 1 as he did with sherk so I can’t see how he improved by so much, Gsp was the fighter with more room for improvement and I believe he’s the more improved between the two. Penns more focused, Penns cardio is better, yeah at 155 it remains to be seen at 170, I’ll believe it when I see it. Gsp’s stand up looked very good in his fight with fitch and I truly believe gsp wins again either by decision or a late round tko I would way 80% chance of decision and 20% chance of tko.
by nathan on Nov 7, 2008 5:21 PM EST reply actions
anything to help you with your game will only make you stronger. Oh an penn has fought 3 times in the last 2 years against opponents who everyone thought penn would beat at 155….GENIUS, GENIUS, GENIUS LOL. Look at the polls BRO gsp wins this one with 60-70% of the pollsters on most polls I’ve seen. And in there first fight polls thought gsp won that fight too in favor of gsp 2 to 1. Even if gsp barely wins again he’ll embarrass penn the guy will be 2-0 and it will crush his huge ego, I’m 90 sure gsp will win but if he doesn’t and gets caught there still 1-1 and I would look forward to a rubber match.

i also get crappy seats from fight club membership
3rd trip to vegas this dec 1st at mgm arena
mandalay is good get upper seats for 300 bucks at mgm those same seats cost me 400 for the year end event. but i am like 17 rows up from the floor. looking through cage isn’t as good i was 2 seats from floor in chicago looked through cage, saw myself looking at monitors and big screens through out matches cause i couldn’t see the fight with a 6’5 guy sitting in front of me. what a waste!!!

I’m looking to buy tickets for the show, and I’ve never been to the MGM Grand so I don’t know how far away I’ll be sitting if I buy the cheap tickets. Are the $50 seats worth it? If not, how much to get decent seats and where should I be looking at sitting?
