Me too. Randy is clearly such a great role model for this sport and him winning this fight will make for some badass match ups down the road including the potential one with Fedor! Unfortunately I think that is when Randy retires though after Fedor finishes him quickly and easily!

I’m not wasting my money on this shitty “freakshow” card.
The “biggest fight in the history of MMA” – (Joe Rogan)…..is one of the lamest match-ups I’ve ever seen.
25 minutes of Brock laying on top of Randy, and controling position, is what everyone is going to spend their money on.

I will laugh when you turn out to be o so wrong… And, also, while your seeing into the future through your crystal ball or however you happen to know how things will turn out before they happen, please get me a hot betting line on an underdog, like another +400 dog thats gonna win. Thx Mrs. Cleo

It’s a freakshow….
80 year old man that hasn’t fought in a long time against someone with 3 fights to his name.
It’s a joke.

I just think its amazing that no matter how many times Couture has come in; been given no chance, and proved everyone wrong, let alone no matter how many times we see incredible upsets in mma overall; that there are still people saying they know exactly whats gonna happen and exactly what is/isn’t worth everybody’s time to watch. This isn’t even close to a “freakshow”, its an mma LEGEND in Randy Couture vs what many see to be the future of the HW division. Stop being a hater, there’s no reason for it.
by O damn he got caught on Nov 6, 2008 10:52 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Randy beat Silvia….that’s the only time he’s proven anyone wrong (assuming the majority of people thought Tim would win). When else has he done it? When else was he given “no chance”? When else did he provide an “incredible upset”? Fuck, the guy wins one fight while being the underdog and he’s all of a sudden from another planet?
Mike Brown pulled off a bigger upset last night than Couture over Silvia.

Are you joking?? The first time he fought Chuck Liddell, how about when he beat Tito Ortiz, Vitor Belfort, Maurice Smith, Pedro Rizzo twice and yes they were also counting him out in the Gabriel Gonzaga fight after Gonzaga dropped Cro Cop. ALL of those fights the favorites were the guys standing across the ring from him. Maybe you haven’t been watching mma for very long??
by O damn he got caught on Nov 6, 2008 11:12 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Tito, Belfort, Smith, and Rizzo do not have the wrestling credentials that Randy has….therefore any idiot knows that Randy will beat someone that can’t out wrestle him. Not my fault the majority of people don’t see this (time and time again). I do see it, and I do know that Brock will out wrestle Randy any day of the week….Brock will win this fight…..AS AN UNDERDOG.
by introvert on Nov 6, 2008 11:40 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
your implying the better wrestler wins in an MMA match when this is a sport where no one is restricted to just one discipline. Randy is winning TITLE fights in his 40’s, name another fighter thats done that. Name another fighter thats been the underdog in that many match’s and come out on top. You can’t. And to say that he’s winning all these fights just because he’s the better wrestler is plain ignorance. These are MMA match’s not wrestling match’s. Most of these guys had youth, size and stand up over Randy.
And how about the third round in the Silvia fight when Randy out pointed Tim on the feet, without going to the ground at all. He also got the better of Chuck Liddell in their stand up exchanges the first time they fought as well.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND WE HAVE A WINNER IN THE DEBATE! “O damn he got caught”
by RyanHobbs on Nov 6, 2008 2:45 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
You’re right, MMA isn’t just wrestling. Case in point, the reason Randy outpointed Tim on the feet was because Tim was never going to take Randy down, therefore Randy didn’t have any distractions while striking (i.e. front foot forward, best position for striking….without worrying about getting taken down).
He can’t do that with Brock.
by introvert on Nov 6, 2008 3:35 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Lol, so how did you get off arguing that this is a worthless card and a freak show to arguing technicalities of a fight between Randy and Brock?
by O damn he got caught on Nov 6, 2008 4:22 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Anyway, i’m done you don’t wanna watch it, thats your business, I think this is a great card and will be a great fight.
by O damn he got caught on Nov 6, 2008 4:24 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
The technicalities of the fight are what make it so fucking boring. Randy won’t get off with striking (because his stance will be complete opposite of what it was with Tim……front foot back, defending takedown, type of stance), therefore all of the striking you saw against Tim is not going to happen.
This fight has “snoozer” written all over it.

Oh, so I see.
All the self proclaimed experts around here just make predictions solely based on who they want to win, then when someone actually uses some fighting knowledge to make his predictions, he’s a moron.
Why don’t you guys ever use some knowledge about fighting to predict, or do you not have any MMA sense……or BALLS?
by introvert on Nov 7, 2008 9:28 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I didn’t even concede that the info you used was factual or good, I don’t see the fight going like that. I have no clue how you sit here and think you know exactly what Couture is gonna do. Why aren’t you a world class fighter/trainer then? I agree with Couture, that Brocks style is straight ahead, how much experience does he have with boxing footwork/angles? Stand up is part of the package also, so are subs, Brock has wrestling and gnp thus far, thats it, this is an MMA match. The more well rounded fighter will pull out the win. I completely disagree with you. Coutures striking and his overall mma game have improved drastically since he fought at LHW, and there’s no reason to think that he hasn’t picked up a few new tricks in his down time considering the guy never stops training.
Why don’t you use some SENSE before you post, cause saying Couture’s nothing but an old washed up has been who won ONE fight when he was the underdog is about the most ignorant statement posted that I’ve ever read. He’s an olympic caliber wrestler and a 5 time UFC champion, and the only man in MMA history to ever win a belt 5 times, show him some respect. And now, I am done, you can sit here and argue with yourself, I DO NOT agree w/ u, I DO NOT see things your way, but I do know one thing, and thats that NO ONE knows whats going to happen until we see it, and I’m looking forward to it. Keep your pecimism and your negative/condescending attitude to yourself mrs. cleo.

I agree! Brock is a beast and has a huge future in MMA,he just need more fights under his belt ,but Randy is my hero! I was standing in line at UFC 68 in Ohio and there wasn’t 1 person in line giving Randy a chance. Not only did he win but was all over Tim the whole fight.Randy has a huge disadvantage in weight and age,BUT a huge advantage in experience.Brock will make a mistake and Randy will be all over it!Don’t count Randy out! I’m with Randy all the way!
by Charlie Sharlow on Nov 6, 2008 11:16 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Yea, there is factual evidence proving your “statement” wrong. Randy has always been the underdog. Go ask a booky in vegas.
by CaptainAmerica#1 on Nov 6, 2008 11:20 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
So bookies, who classed him as an underdog, were wrong…and somehow you are saying they still know more than me?
by introvert on Nov 6, 2008 3:50 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I think everyone is forgetting something here.
The number one thing that Randy has had over Tim Sylvia and Gabe Gonzaga was ore! they stod across the ring looking at a legend, their hero. How can punch a hero in the face?
Brock, on the other hand, does not have this. New to the sport and you can tell when he fights the lack of respect he has for opponents. Look at his videos in the lead up to Mir, his action against Herring at the end of the fight.
Brock’s mental state is in entertainment, not a fight. I just hope Randy can crack him in the face to make sure he realises this!
Result: hoping Randy second or third round TKO

When Fedor was fighting HMC last year everyone, especially, Mr. Holand was screaming out “this is a freakshow” How come it’s not a freakshow now?
by zheka1 on Nov 7, 2008 6:06 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
It is.
The funny thing is that HMC has a 12-5 kickboxing record, although only a 1-1 MMA record, he is still way more of a fighter than Brock is.
Brock will still win this thing, though…and it will show just how lame the UFC HW division is.
I’m going to laugh at all you guys when this thing ends up being a 25 minute snooze fest, and Brock wins a LnP decision.
