Paul Semtex Daley vs John Alessio MFC fight possible in Alberta Dec. 5

John "The Natural" Alessio (24-11) has indicated via his Facebook page that he will collide with Paul "Semtex" Daley (18-7-2) at Maximum Fighting Championships (MFC) 19: "Long Time Coming" at River Cree Resort and Casino in Enoch, Alberta, on December 5.
The Canadian-based event, which will air live on HDNet on fight, currently features a light heavyweight championship bout between Roger Hollet and title challenger Emanuel Newton.
This is a bit of s surprise, considering the contract situation between "Semtex" and Pro Elite is more than likely not resolved. In addition, the British brawler recently stated that he was 99 percent sure he'd be on the January 4 Sengoku card in Japan.
With no specific date announced for this fight it's still possible he'll be on that card.
Semtex strung together six consecutive wins against such notable opposition as Duane Ludwig, Mark Weir, Sam Morgan, and others before losing to Jake Shields at Elite XC: "Heat" last month in a welterweight title bout.
The Nottingham, England, native boasts a sick Muay Thai game and has the ability to finish his opponents at any time -- he has 14 career stoppages because of strikes.
Alessio, too, has had a better than average career thus far in mixed martial arts.
The 29-year-old has competed in the sport since 1998 and has seen action 35 times in 16 different organizations. Since the turn of the century his only losses have come to Pat Miletich, Joe Doerksen, Jason Black, Jonathan Goulet, Diego Sanchez, Thiago Alves, Carlos Condit and Brock Larson.
Nothing to be ashamed of there.
Alessio competed six straight times under the WEC banner before the loss to Larson at WEC 33 back in March, which came on a disqualification from an illegal knee. Since then "The Natural" put together back-to-back wins over former UFC veterans Pete Spratt and Gideon Ray by submission and technical knockout, respectively.

Why in the world does the UFC refuse to sign Semtex? I just dont get it…the kid is a Stud in the making. Especially now that the UFC is dedicated to expanding into the UK, they should really sign Semtex!
Semtex vs. tiago Alves would be the best welterweight Muy Tai Battle in the HIstory of the UFC!!!!

This would be a VERY solid fight for a pretty poor event.
Haven’t noticed anything on Marcus Davis vs Chris Lytle here yet, unless I missed it.. They will be fighting early 09, don’t remember which event, maybe 92.
If Semtex was to come to the UFC, fighting the loser of that fight would be very interesting, however, that would be starting him waaaay too high up the pecking order of the WW division.
To be honest, I believe that Daley is more hype than for real.

VM: We havent disagreed in about 2 years. its about time we can actually pick different sides of a topic and debate it!
Semtex is not all hype, he just isnt a finished product yet. I compare Semtex to Alves…World class Muy tai fighters. The difference between the 2 is the camps that they train at. At AKA, Alves has ideal partners to improve on his weaknesses (Takedown defense and Ground game). SEmtex doesnt have that luxury. Alves gets to work on the ground with Jits wizrds like Maximus and JZ, and he has evolved.
If Semtex develpos takedown defense and at least submission defense, he will be a MONSTER! He is still young and if he joined the UFC TODAY, he would instantly be a top 5 STRIKER in te welterweight division. He just needs to work on his weaknesses and he will become a very tough mma fighter!

Semtex at 26-27yrs of age, has been fighting for 5 yrs and looks like he has terrible submission and wrestling…I don’t know anything about his camp… is there no BJ or wrestling in Nottingham?

VM: Lytle vs. Davis is going down at UFC 93 in Dublin Ireland.
Check out what marcus had to say. Basically he is saying that they agreed to make it a stand up WAR
Davis is suggesting that both men agree to stand and bang it out:
"We’ve both been like, ‘I respect you, respect what you do, but a fight between each other is money in the bank,’" said Davis about a fight with Lytle. "I basically said, ‘Yeah, let’s do it and the first guy to take the other guy down is a pussy.’"

It’s clear that lytle could easily get a 1st round sub but he needs them checks. Neither of them will be moving out of the “middle to lower pack” of the division so winning is not that important.

Davis is 7-2 in UFC, losses to Swick via dec. and Guillard by TKO at the TUF 2 Finale. After he pounds out Lytle, who I couldn’t care less about, Davis should move back toward the top 5.

You know that Alessio is going to win this fight because he wears shades. He’s “dangerous” and must hide his identity.
