I sense an understanding difficulty*
but Jon Fitch looks the sharpest out of the 3 learners!
All credit to fitch*..you have to love the passion of always wanting to improve 2 be the best!!

I know his kicks looked so weird but gotta give him props for improving his MT. He needs to relax, his posture is so stiff. In other news according to one interview A. Silva should also be in Thailand right now training.

I believe that strict training in any one discipline is a recipe for failure… if you train hard on disciplined muay thai, youre going to be taken down easier as your stance will be alot higher and straight up with your hips forwards… i think the best way to go is to put it all together and train all the martial arts together, because thats what mixed martial arts is… fitch should have skipped the trip to thailand and headed to greg jacksons camp

it looks like Fitch’s camp has realized that Fitch has holes in his standup. to fix your standup – train standup! no one said Fitch would only train muay thai…i’m sure he’ll blend it in w/ the rest of his MMA game.

Muay Thai training in Thailand must be insane.. just the surrounding area of this training facility looks nuts. I love it.
The best would be to train Muay thai in thailand.. then go to Brazil.. and train Bjj..then get do Wrestling/Conditioning at maybe X Couture?? Las Vegas… one after the other.. that would insane..
then go and fight!

Woah..JV.. I did not know that.. I’m sure he calmed down a bit.. 2bad.. I was wondering how Mac Danzig would do against Junie.. ??
by PhilQNY on Oct 31, 2008 10:29 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Mac would prove to be too experienced and technical for Junie at this point in time. At least, that’s what I think, although, I would be rooting for the Insane One Junie Browning.

i got about 2 mins into the video and though the same thing. either that or he needs to stick with the wrestling. i guess it cant hurt to try and become more well-rounded, but there comes a point.

LOL…wow…a fight with GSP will send to the far reaches of earth to earn an advatage over someone like GSP. but hey more power to fitch. that dude is a bad man.
by santiago69us on Oct 31, 2008 9:36 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
yea, he could train for years and will just never have the speed or explosiveness to strike with a guy like GSP.

lol… there’s seems to be a lot of traning in Thailand. I can’t help but making fun of typos.
Fitch looks a little fat, his Muay-Thai looks decent. Nothing to impressive. He definitely needs to work on that left swing kick a little more. Can see if coming from a mile away and it looks week. Or maybe he’s just taking it easy in that part of the video. Who do you guys think Jon is going to get next?
by Scarlip on Oct 31, 2008 9:37 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Maybe Karo.. or that Judo guy Karo was going to square up with..
by PhilQNY on Oct 31, 2008 9:48 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Hopefully Karo. I know Karo got written off after his loss to Thiago in which Karo came in as the favourite, but we now know that Thiago is legit, so that loss is nothing to be ashamed of.

i hope he fights karo or shields i really hope he gets his stand up improved and goes on a massive win streake

News from both camps is Thiago but nothing is confirmed. U guys think fitch can take him down? Karo is way below the radar. I know Hughes has said he owes him a fight.

Yes, I believe Fitch can take down Alves. They fought a couple of years ago and he did so at will. Granted, Thiago’s TD defense has improved since then, but I would still believe that Fitch would be able to get the TD’s, but not as easily as thier first fight.
A rematch between those two is a fight that I would fully expect Jon Fitch to win.

If Fitch beats Thiago again, then is Fitch the number one contender again? I guess Fitch-BJ would be fun if BJ beats GSP, but Fitch would still lose, maybe even get finished by BJ. Why don’t we just have GSP-BJ in a best of seven lol.

that matchup does not excite me at all, they need to let him get back on track with a couple of easier fights.. Koscheck couldn’t take him down and got beat in the standup, the same thing would happen with Fitch cause his standup is soo slow and he’s always flatfooted..

yeah! make of of those “week” typo’s. Its a typo lol Ass.
by hank on Oct 31, 2008 11:59 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Ha I take it you are laughing at your typos as well…
“Can see if[it] coming from a mile away and it looks week[weak].”
ha-ha jk man I am just as bad if not worse at spelling.
I saw somewhere he is going to fight Kim, but don’t hold me to that just yet…

Dont you mean “weak”? Be careful of what you make fun of, may come back to bite you. LOL

Good for Fitch for trying to get his stand-up to another level.

I have a buddy over there right now training. He says it’s crazy! He loves it over there though. You stay “on-campus” in an apartment and train all facets of your game there. Not just MT.

Doesnt even look that good and he one of the worlds best fighters? Back to wrestling!
by Tony on Oct 31, 2008 11:36 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Yea because surviving 5 rounds WITH one of the worlds best definitely shows how terrible you are…

I almost fell asleep after the first minute and a half, wasn’t impressed can’t see him ever holding the belt as long as gsp is in the division.

Just so you guys now that footage was taken while I was suffering from food poisoning. I shouldnt have even been training, but I dont want to waste my time here. And yes, it is really hard to understand what they want you to do. When they switch the trainers up you have to re-learn the new guys ques. The last week and a half I have been working mostly with the same trainer so its a lot smoother. Also yes Im stiff as fuck, flexability is something I am working on improving.
Thanks for watching

Damn Jon, I didn’t know you were on Mania. You ever train muay thai with Raul Llopis while he was in the Fort? I could barely understand a word he said. Way to represent the 260.

If that was really “Jon. Fitch” Kudos for stopping by… more of these fighters should stop by now n’ then and say ‘hello’ for a comment or 2 on sites like Mania. TY Jon! If that isn’t u then f**k off… maybe it’s not such a good idea afterall..lol.

I love your work ethic and dedication. You showed tons of heart against GSP.
I’m looking forward to your next fight. Best of luck in your training.

Was at Tiger MMA / Muay thai in 2006, looks like theyve done some renovation since then. Good place to practise, theyve got a decent BJJ program as well…2x a day training, lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks.
make sure you know how to ride a scooter before you go, best way to get around phuket.
