'UFC Countdown' to 90 'Silva vs Cote' to debut on Spike TV this week

"UFC Countdown" to UFC 90: "Silva vs. Cote" will debut on Spike TV this Thursday (October 23) at 11 p.m. ET to promote the upcoming show this upcoming weekend at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill., on October 25.
The hour-long special presentation will provide a glimpse into the preparation and training camps of the fighters set to headline the event, including main event participants UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva and number one contender, Patrick Cote.
It's unclear at this time if we’ll also get to check out some footage of the camps for co-headliners Thiago Alves and Josh Koscheck, considering the welterweight match up was booked on less than two weeks notice because of an injury to Diego Sanchez.
Nonetheless, the 170-pound showdown has serious title implications. In fact, the winner of the bout will likely be in line to face the winner of the bout between welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and BJ Penn at UFC 94 on January 31 .
Even though Koscheck -- win or lose -- intends to fight Yoshiyuki Yoshida at UFC Fight Night 16: "Fight for the Troops" on December 10.
Remember that MMAmania.com will provide all the coverage you can handle, including LIVE blow-by-blow UFC 90 results of the main card action on fight night … be sure to come check us out.
For those who miss the "Countdown" to UFC 90 premier it will re-air on Friday, October 24 at 4 p.m. ET and Saturday, October 25 at 6 p.m. ET.

Like the joke goes, the only way Patrick Cote will win is if Anderson Silva changes his name to Patrick Cote.
By the way, I like Koscheck in this bout with Alves, and I think he will come out the victor.

sounds about right Brendan, but NO WORRIES, My BOy Alves is going to light his ass up! Alves is way to big to be taken down by the petite Koschek (and his child bairing hips). Alves’s takedown defense will be better than we have ever seen. Training for Diego he hadf to iprove his takedown defense, because NOBODY wants Diego on top of them. Koschek is a different opponent but takedown defense is also the Key when fighting him, so alves’s training/gameplan shouldn’t change to much. IF Kos can get alves on his back, tiago will be good enough to defend himself, get back up or stall until the ref brings it back to his fet. Alves is tough as NAILS so Kos wont be able to KO him.
Should be a great fight and I really cant wait to see Alves be the 1st to KO Kos

So now can we finally admit that Machida does not deserve a title shot.. he still needs a big win.. His best wins are vs Soku (who was way overated, but is still young) and vs Tito (who is washed up)… Let him beat someone good and then you can talk title.. i’m so tired of everyone on his nuts
