You beat me to it! I was going to say, for about 1 minute against Irvin, it was Anderson Silva. But seriously, I would love to see him move up and fight those 205 pounders.

wrong silva, its wanderlei imo. anderson needs to fight those guys since he appears to be as big and strong as those guys. he certainly looked it against irvin.

I think jackson is going to kill Wandy, even though I’m a big Wandy fan. Don’t know who the best is? Not even sure if you could ever prove that, it’s all opinion, which is what makes MMA the best sport ever!

sHOGUN is the best fighter in the division when healthy and up to his normal conditioning standards. Shogun is BRUTAL in the stand up and he is a genius on the ground. He is so well rounded that it really makes no difference if the fight stays standing or goes to the ground, more times than not, ADVANTAGE SHOGUN! I hear Shogun is doing extensive training with Elbows and his knees are good and he is injury free.
Fingers crossed!

How come Brandon Vera is not at the post-pressor?… I assume it’s not optional or invite-by-White customary?
by THORAZINE on Oct 20, 2008 2:33 AM EDT up reply actions
Probably because he is to embarassed, seriously.

I know. Why did the reporter ask if he was frustrated about having a win over the current champ etc. I know Jardine hasn’t never bitched about it himself but some fans have.
If you want a title shot you got to be consistent. Wins over Forrest & Liddell while good don’t mean much if you can’t get more the a 1 fight win streak, if you can call it a win streak haha, Jardine has been inconsistent.

There is no single best light heavyweight fighter in the UFC. That is what makes it so exciting to watch fights in that division. Of the top 10 fighters listed below, at least 8 of them would have a good chance of beating any of the others on the list.
1. Forrest Griffin
2. Quinton Jackson
3. Rashad Evans (undefeated with 1 draw)
4. Lyoto Machida (undefeated)
5. Chuck Liddell
6. Mauricio Rua
7. Wanderlei Silva
8. Keith Jardine
9. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou (he’ll probably drop off the list after losing this weekend.)
10 Thiago Silva (undefeated)

He also forgot that Soku should never have even been on that list…he has stunk up the octagon since joining the UFC. Can’t hang with real competition.

His gas tank got exposed as well. I wanna see him against Houston Alexander in a battle of hype.
by NameNotRequired on Oct 20, 2008 1:20 AM EDT up reply actions
hahaha that would be a good fight…I’d give the edge to Houston as all he would have to do is whether Soku’s early flurries, wait for him to gas, then knock him out.

I just the looked at the list again; WTF is Thiago Silva doing in 10th place? That dude is crazy. Crane should be on there as well, obviously.

I actually think they should put Chuck against Houston next. In theory Chuck should win, but if Houston connects Chuck will be going down. Either way it should be pretty excitng, for the two rounds that it would probably last for. Chuck v Vera could also be a good one.

As much as I like Rua he shouldn’t be on any top 10 LHW list. He has not competed in over a year. His last fight was a loss, how’s is he the 6th best LHW in the world? Skill wise he’s top 10 but aren’t these list based on performance and their fights of the previous year. What a joke. But I’m sure within time Rua will earn his way to the top 10 (even though he’s already in haha) coz the dude is skilled.

Soku may not be top 10 in the UFC but man, he’s exciting to watch. That jumping kick (not sure what it’s called) that he landed was sick!!!

I also liked the right kick then he followed it up w/a “mini” superman punch. I’vr been copying the move ever since…

It’s hard to choose. There are so many different styles and strengths in the light-heavyweight division I don’t see any one person holding the belt for very long. It will be an exciting few years to watch the top 10 go at it.

Rashad Evans Vs Lyoto Machida anyone? @UFC UNDEFEATED
by Soup on Oct 20, 2008 2:01 AM EDT reply actions
I’ve been talking about that match up for the longest time dude. But let’s just wait and see how the MAchida-Silva fight would play out first.

Soku will be back for sure hes young azz hell and can only improve, by this time next year he should be top 5.
