Look at Vera, 203lbs!! No excuses, just Jardine layed out snoring! And Jesus, I forgot that Carwin is such a monster. Does he have to cut to get to 265?

Vera got down to 203, i hope he doesn’t put me to sleep watching his fight again! i still say jardine is gonna beat him UD

must be easy to make weight as a heavyweight

Quick Question: Who has a better chance at winning thier respective fight, they are both +145 underdogs. Keith Jardine or David Baron????

  • It would help if you know who David Baron is before hand….

by ViolentMike on Oct 17, 2008 12:40 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Ofcourse i know who Baron is. im not a ufc fanboy.
I have actually been looking forward to david’s UFC debut. I hope both Jardine and Baron win, but I know they both have tuff tests ahead of them an it wont be easy. But to answer your question IMO Baron has a better chance.

I just got back from the weigh ins. Was pretty cool apart from the shitty seating or lack of.

Brandon looked totally ripped and shocked me that he ever was a HW when he can cut so much. Its gonna be different than I thought it was after seeing that.

Bisping wins his one. He is so confident in himself at the moment and its gonna take a lot to stop him and I dont think that it will be Leben. He had some choice words for Leben when they were interviewed after saying he thinks Leben is underestimating him. He seems really ready for this one and to prove a lot of doubters of his capabilities.

Should be a great fight though.

I see zero scenario short of vera dying that jardine wins this fight.
BRANDON, LET YOUR KICKS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can’t run you can’t hide Leben! the most nasty brutal ko is coming!

When has Leben ever ran or hidden from a fight???

If anyone is going to be “running away” in this fight it will be Bisping once he tastes the power that the hands of Chris Leben posseses!

Leben is going to win this fight…….. I hope i have alot of money on him.

by belfort_fan on Oct 17, 2008 12:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Me too. Some stupid sucker here in my village laid down 200. I would definitely have a go at it for I see in my crystal ball that Bisping will be lying on the canvass…

Tony,

I am an unapologetic Bisping fan. However, I assure you Leben is not running from any fight.

THe Reason Vera is at 203 is because that was his walking around weight a few days ago to. The guy could probably make the 185t pound division and if you dont think so look at his physic when the video becomes available. He is not ripped at all. He needs a strength and conditioning coach. ANyways he is still good and will probably come out with the w. Hope its a good night of fights. I cant wait.

by Scott on Oct 17, 2008 12:16 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

He prides himself of the fact that he doesn’t lift weights. When they showed the countdown for the Reese fight it showed him doing some sort if strength training that involved resistance cords, or something. Just because he does not look like a bodybuilder does not mean he has a lack of strength.

I heard that he really didn’t have to cut weight either, too me that means he should be quick and energetic.

by BNF on Oct 17, 2008 12:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He has a strength and conditioning coach now. That’s why he is walking around at 202 lbs. He also changed his diet and is eating performance enhancing food, not the junk food he used to live on. An athlete is no different than a high performance motor, you have to run high test fuel if you want maximum performance. I think we will see the best Brandon Vera ever.

A question to the bloggers that don’t rate Bisping (which i understand why): If he beats Leben will he then be a decent fighter? Not a contender but more than a gatekeeper at 185?

by UKmmaBOY on Oct 17, 2008 12:18 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I would have to lean towards comntender status if he beats Leben.

by James S on Oct 17, 2008 12:28 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

For damn sure!

by belfort_fan on Oct 17, 2008 12:34 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Gatekeeper? No way. Gatekeepers are always veterans. I guess they are very quick to give people vet status after just a couple fights tho. I personally feel that Leben will be the gatekeeper if he loses this fight. If he fights Silva again and loses.. he will take Franklins spot as the gatekeeper.

This is really a must win for him. Then he must keep winning. I really dont see Leben getting the win tho. I really think Bisping will walk away with the “W”.

by enzo-enormous on Oct 17, 2008 12:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If he wins he should fight Ace… the winner will be the new gatekeeper.

by DJ on Oct 17, 2008 12:49 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Actually I typed a bit quick… the loser of a possible Count vs Ace matchup would be the gatekeeper in my books.

by DJ on Oct 17, 2008 12:51 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Doubtful, Leben isn’t ranked either.
He’d have to take out someone like Okami, Marquardt, Franklin or Henderson – in the UFC atleast, to be considered top 10.

Leben has a very disproportianate upper body. Looks like he did stups and worked out every part of his upper body but his chest. should be a good fight tomorrow. pulling for Leben

punching power comes from forearms, shoulders, and legs…look at Chuck…his chest is flat…

Dont forget that ass!

by Brandon on Oct 17, 2008 5:19 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I find it so odd that the Henderson/Franklin fight is at 205 and not at 185. They should fight at 185 and the winner take on the winner or Bisping fight for the next title shot!

:p

by Brian "Bisping-Hater" on Oct 17, 2008 1:25 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

they are fighting at 205 b/c that’s Franklin’s new weight. he’s working at bulking up so that he can be competitive in that class. Besides,if both are comfortable at a heavier weight, why force them to cut? Nobody likes to cut weight. When guys aren’t fighting for a title in boxing, they always end up fighting at a heavier catch weight.

Vera looks ripped. Those two better get it on.
My Picks: Leben, Vera, Soko, Davis, Lytle, Gono, Carwin, Stout, Shiavo, and Bielkhelden.
OOooooohhhh…Baby!

Looks like Dana’s hittin’ the weights…

Its so funny how differently people see the possible outcomes of fights.

I have: Bisping, Jardine, Cane, Kelly, Hardy, Carwin, Etim, Eklund, Bielkheden.

Almost the complete opposite!!

by Ca$z on Oct 17, 2008 3:11 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Dana Looks Huge, Bisping and Leben are shredded, i was there i was quite overwhelmed lol carwin is a beast, hardy and gono were hilarious lmao that wig Gono wore was funny, i train at the same place as hardy does and i think he’s gunna win!!!
