maynard can knock off top contenders when their on top of that hill, and i think dana and joe silva always can count onguys like grey to knock them off

I hope Maynard kicks this fool’s ass!!!

i really hope gray is the favorite on this! easy money… clementi is 40 and 12, maynard has 6 pro fights. you think clementi has never faced a big strong wrestler? he manhandled anthony johnson who is a HUGE 170 lbs… maynard will make an amatuer mistake and clementi will capitalize with a submission

by brendan on Oct 13, 2008 3:01 PM EDT up reply actions

I think maynard will LnP him to decision. I hope he can win though, it would be nice to see a somewhat journeyman rising through the ranks.

yeah great “thats just what the ufc needs! another boring f*n wrestler!” lol cant really argue with junie on that one

by brendan on Oct 13, 2008 3:14 PM EDT up reply actions

UFC is doing fine with it’s assortment of wrestlers… if Junie doesn’t like it stay with Kick Boxing.. As Joe Rogan states it best… too Bad if a fighter gets taken down and can’t get up’’ this is MMA!

yeah…too bad for the fans.

Maynard doesn’t have a dynamic wrestling game – no scrambles, power doubles or singles. He may get a slam or two after pinning you but the rest is top control against the cage with short punches.

Clementi’s only shot is to catch Gray coming in with a guillotine choke.

i mean pick rich up

ALl-OUT WAAAAR Clementi!!

by The Negation on Oct 13, 2008 6:19 PM EDT up reply actions

I like Clementi, but Maynard should win this fight. Just look how dominating Maynard was over top contender Frank Edgar. Clementi will not be able to handle his strength.

I think rich said it best in the interview. Going to be a war. Gray by tko

by onthebutton on Oct 13, 2008 1:21 PM EDT reply actions

Maynard is one of the most one dimensional fighters in the UFC. He just happens to be a great wrestler. I think No Love is gonna submit him.

by Bill Maher on Oct 13, 2008 2:14 PM EDT reply actions

i like both these guys, but when you say gray is one dimensional, i dont really see it, and i think gray has more tools than clementi

by sinister on Oct 13, 2008 2:56 PM EDT up reply actions

I agree that he isn’t on dimensional, but I don’t agree with Gray having more tools than Rich.
But I guess we’ll find out.

by Madnuts on Oct 13, 2008 7:49 PM EDT up reply actions

I say Clementi on this one. I like this matchup alot, looking forward to it.

What 5-10 non UFC lightweights are you referring to?

by RyanHobbs on Oct 13, 2008 9:03 PM EDT up reply actions

God I hope Rich beats Gay Maynard.

by sbud on Oct 13, 2008 3:37 PM EDT reply actions

Rich is just all around a great fighter. I have to give it to him.
Hopefully this fight is exciting and not juss Rich holding Gray down the whole time.

by Madnuts on Oct 13, 2008 4:28 PM EDT reply actions

Hopefully this fight ends up finding its way onto the televised portion because it should be one of the more entertaining match-ups IMO. Clementi has impressed since moving to 155. I think he takes this if it is anything other than a cuddlefest by Maynard holding him down.

by PJJ on Oct 13, 2008 6:53 PM EDT reply actions

i hope maynard knocks this fool the f*ck out. more likely to go all 3 rounds though.

by allamerican on Oct 13, 2008 7:11 PM EDT reply actions

grey reminds me of a young dan henderson. great wrestler with heavy hands. doesn’t grey train with hendo?
