Fomer UFC and PRIDE punching bag Joe Son charged with gang rape

One-time UFC lovable loser Joseph Hyungmin Son (0-4) has been charged with multiple felonies after DNA evidence tied him to a brutal gang rape that took place in 1990 according to the good folks over at TMZ.
Son, also known to non-MMA fans as "Random Task" from Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, is probably best known in the fight community for having his balls demolished by Keith Hackney back at UFC 4 en route to a first round submission loss.
After pleading guilty to felony vandalism in May of 2008, Son was required to submit a DNA sample as part of his guilty plea. That sample connected him to an unsolved gang rape that took place over 18 years ago.
According to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, the victim was pistol-whipped, raped, threatened with death and penetrated by a firearm before eventually being blindfolded and released naked.
Son is being held on $1 million bail and has been charged with the following:
-Five felony counts of rape
-Two felony counts of forcible sodomy
-Two felony counts of sodomy in concert by force
-Seven felony counts of forcible oral copulation
-One felony count of sexual penetration by foreign object by force.
If convicted, Son faces a maximum sentence of 275 years to life.

I am no lawyer…but I do know that most states haev a “statute of limitiation” for all charges. Murder being the ONLY one that has no time limit to prosecute. It sucks, cuz this dues needs a serious ass kicking. What a pile a garbage.
But in most states, the statute of limitation is most likely 5 years, maybe 10 years. I hope they can find a way around all this and put him away forever…..But I know that ALL crimes have a statute.

Statute of limitations is set by the severity of the possible sentence. And with the charges that have been filed there’s a good chance that there’s no statute of limitations.

California does technically have statutes of limitations (SOL) on some of its sexual abuse crimes that require lawsuits to be brought within a certain time period. However, there are huge loopholes that usually allow most anyone to bring up a sexual abuse lawsuit even after the statute of limitations has expired.

There is not going to be a problem with statute of limitation. If there was they wouldn’t be able to charge, hold, and set bail for him. Obviously this has already been seen by a judge to get this far, and I am sure that Joe Son’s lawyers would have brought up the fact that he couldn’t even be tried for the crime.

I watch a lot of Law and Order, so I know that prosecutors can get around statutes of limitations by calling the act an ongoing criminal conspiracy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

“California A 1742 (2000)
Permits prosecution of certain sex offenses within one year of the date on which the identity is established through DNA."

Jo Son is going to live to fight another day( he will be fighting off the guys in prison who want to grab his balls again). Jo Son will be considered a pistol in prison( a pistol of a guy who gives great blow jobs).
