RICH FRANKLIN DVD 'CYBORG SOLDIER'

Former UFC middleweight champion Rich "Ace" Franklin, in his feature film debut, stars in Cyborg Soldier, an action-packed tale of science, nature and a boatload of butt-kicking.

Deputy Lindsay Rearden (Tiffani Thiessen, Beverly Hills, 90210) is taken hostage by a mysterious man who in turn, is being chased by secret military agents, lead by world-renowned robotic engineer Simon Hart (Bruce Greenwood, I Robot, National Treasure: Book of Secrets).

She discovers that this mysterious man who calls himself I.S.A.A.C. (Intuitive Synthetic Autonomous Assault Commando) is the first prototype of a confidential human weapon program who has escaped from a secret research facility.

Once a death-row inmate, he is now a genetically reconstructed, highly trained, deadly assassin whose body and mind have been modified to become a physically regenerative, intellectually superior human being. Running for their lives, the deputy and I.S.A.A.C. combine forces to expose the military group constructing these super-beings.

Can the pair escape their deadly pursuers and expose the truth?

Isn’t this the exact same plot line to Universal Soldier, or at least similar lol.

by Macho Bullshit on Oct 7, 2008 8:26 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Pretty much. Hopefully they can get Goldberg for the sequel. haha

I would still give Tiffany Thiesen a high, hard one though.

I saw some Rich Franklin behind the scenes and he look uncomfortable acting, but he was very humble about it, looks like a B movie at best. I’ll rent it!

by kimbo went to harvard on Oct 7, 2008 7:52 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I saw this movie two weeks ago, and I turned it off about 25 minutes into the film. Complete stupidity.

by "Mr. NC-17" on Oct 7, 2008 8:01 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

LOLOL, REALLY?

I only came into this thread to say:

“I don’t even think that Mr. NC-17 would buy this movie, for $20”

Someone must have to be obsenely obssessed with Rich to buy and watch this movie.

by ViolentMike on Oct 7, 2008 9:56 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I’m sure its a lot cheaper on ebay. I wonder if it made the coveted Redbox list?

by the_mexicutioner on Oct 7, 2008 10:13 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Thank god for working 5 hours a week at blockbuster… Free Movies.

by "Mr. NC-17" on Oct 7, 2008 10:32 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lol how do you only work 5 hours a week?

by brendan on Oct 7, 2008 8:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I have 3 jobs. 4 if you count being a fighter.

by "Mr. NC-17" on Oct 7, 2008 10:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Mr NC 17-

Between your fight predictions and your movie choices…

I would recommend a nice vacation for you w/ lots o’ liquor.

;)

by OJR on Oct 7, 2008 10:07 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

It was a free movie. I work 5 hours a week a blockbuster and that is inventory day so I get free movies… and nothing was out that week except for this and Redbelt so I picked up both. Plus I thought it would of least been comical.

by "Mr. NC-17" on Oct 7, 2008 10:33 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

you know you wanted to see that girl from “saved by the bell” neckid. he.he. tiffany i think.

by b.w. on Oct 7, 2008 12:21 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Another movie to miss. Awesome.

by the_mexicutioner on Oct 7, 2008 8:07 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

God, I want to say something nasty about this flick, but hey, Franklin’s got to keep his eye on life after MMA. I guess these B-movies (what’s lower than a B-movie?) are good practice for a guy like him. Learn about the movie business and try some acting without anybody noticing.

by Hyde on Oct 7, 2008 8:08 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

It’d be a C movie, but either way Franklin is to good of a guy to rip on. Bad choice of movie but doesn’t make me respect him any less.

by Cogito Ergo Sum on Oct 7, 2008 10:30 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

When is a UFC fighter going to be in a movie that doesn’t go straight to dvd. I don’t count redbelt because it sucked too.

by EazyEismydad on Oct 7, 2008 8:08 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Randy, Chuck and Tito were in “Cradle 2 the Grave” with Jet Li and DMX. I didnt watch it though. I figured it would suck.

by the_mexicutioner on Oct 7, 2008 9:27 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Most movies with “hip-hop artists” suck.

by OJR on Oct 7, 2008 10:13 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

agreed. chuck and tim sylvia are in a movie called “bobby z” with paul walker as well. dont rent it, trust me on this one.

by b.w. on Oct 7, 2008 12:24 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

unless it’s mos def; or will smith.

by JB on Oct 7, 2008 10:43 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He is still making money off of this. I am sure all of you would jump at the opportunity to act in a “B” movie. Rich is getting his name out there and acting with Kelly from Saved By the Bell

by Lucas on Oct 7, 2008 8:28 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

This movie looks really, really, stupid.

by Jon on Oct 7, 2008 8:29 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, but I’ve had a crush on Tiffany Amber Thiesen since her Saved by the Bell Years.

by RedDog on Oct 7, 2008 8:43 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

same here, RedDog! lol. Man, I’m a big fan of Rich, but I just can’t bring myself to buy this movie. H#ll, I don’t think I could watch it for free on cable!

by chefdaddy on Oct 7, 2008 9:17 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I prefer that chick from that horrible, soft core Cinemax type movie called Showgirls…

What’s her name?

by OJR on Oct 7, 2008 12:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Elizabeth Berkley

by naturalshadow on Oct 7, 2008 2:28 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Thanks. Yeah, she is a hottie.

by OJR on Oct 7, 2008 2:50 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I’ve never watched Saved by the Bell, but this Tiffany doesn’t look like anything to brag about. She must have been better looking back then, right?! Please say yes…

by cbchwa on Oct 7, 2008 8:59 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, she was also on 90210 and Melrose Place.

by RedDog on Oct 7, 2008 11:09 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

This movie will go right on my shelf next to Jaws 4, Timecop, and They Live.

by dramos37 on Oct 7, 2008 8:59 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

My god this sounds terrible. How did it even get made with a plot outline like that?!

by sbuod on Oct 7, 2008 9:02 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

can u say Oscar???

by silva on Oct 7, 2008 9:04 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Oscar Meyer Wiener is more like it…

by OJR on Oct 7, 2008 10:56 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I wonder how many people outside of the MMA community will see the trailer or clips and wonder "when did Jim Carey become and action “star”?".

by SweetLew on Oct 7, 2008 9:20 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Haha, I’m sure this movie is HORRIBLE. But, you have to start somewhere. You can’t expect him to be starring next to Denzel Washington right off the bat.

Kelly Kapowski’s in the movie. Nice.

by R-Dizzle on Oct 7, 2008 9:21 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Haters. I’m probably buying it.

by JB on Oct 7, 2008 9:26 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

lol. my friend says rich looks jim carey. thats funny i guess there are others who think so.

by the still operator on Oct 7, 2008 9:40 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah he does. Hence the nickname. Suppose he could play Jim Carey’s brother in a scene or two. Maybe he could be his stunt double lol.

by RobH86 on Oct 7, 2008 9:53 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Very original idea for a movie.

by Diesel Power on Oct 7, 2008 9:59 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

LOL. No kidding. I lost it at the Isac acronymn! HAHA!

by wAyNe on Oct 7, 2008 10:09 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

HEY HEY!!….There’s TWO A’s in I.S.A.A.C.!!! :)

by Freddy on Oct 7, 2008 10:17 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I’ll pay a dollar to rent it from that movie vending machine at Wal-Mart.

by wAyNe on Oct 7, 2008 10:08 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Is it me or does Rich Franklin look like a dud in this one.

“My name is Isaac”

No emotion when he talks. But I guess that’s good for being a Cyborg.

by VIPete on Oct 7, 2008 10:23 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Good to see that Jim Carry is in an action movie haha

by SugarRashad on Oct 7, 2008 10:36 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I like Rich. No way this movie is any worse than “Never Back Down”.

by natedogg77 on Oct 7, 2008 10:44 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Akira Kurasawa would be proud of it. NOT!!!!!!!!! NOT!!!!!!

by League on Oct 7, 2008 11:11 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Well, if “Ace” doesn’t end up in the UFC Hall of Fame he definitely takes the cake for “Lead Role in the Cheesiest Movie of All-Time”… looks like a bad Steven Seagull movie!

by ironfist_55 on Oct 7, 2008 6:16 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Which leads one to ask, “are there ANY GOOD Steven Seagal movies?”

by chefdaddy on Oct 8, 2008 7:54 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

This is a hilarious thread. Gold people!!

by Rilly on Oct 7, 2008 11:14 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

one word ‘shite’

by mashurst on Oct 8, 2008 3:09 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I’m about 5 mins into this movie and I have to say its absolutely the most terrible movie of all time.
