Anderson Silva is gona win, theres no way he will lose i can’t see it, and i can’t even imagin it. Cote is a ok fighter, but i mean he might! a very slight chance get passed the 1st rd, but i wouldn’t bet on it.

Silva by Ko 1st RD, at 3:30 sec

This even sounds crazy to me, but i’m picking cote by 3rd round tko, i think he will beable to take a few shots from silva and not go down and i can see him catching silva with a huge hook that puts silva in trouble then i think he will finish it.
either that or silva will destroy him in the 2nd, but i can deffinatly see cote pulling the upset.

I have Cote for the win as well. Silva has a big target on his back and everyone is shooting for it. Many will and have failed, but one will eventually succeed.

by c-war on Oct 7, 2008 10:28 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The lack of fear is not going to defeat the spider. it takes a level of skill that cote will never posess in a lifetime of training. Anderson Silva was created by the hands of God to be the greatest fighter in mma history. his skill is undeniable and his intelligence of approaching each opponent is legendary. Cote will be destroyed according to plan. Long live the Spider

Until GSP gets a hold of him

by jtl87 on Oct 7, 2008 1:20 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

not until he starts facing a wider range of skilled fighters(sorry but middleweight hasnt had them except hendo). You want to be called the best, you have to beat the best and unfortunately those guys arent in the middleweight division, the exception is hendo again. silva should step up to the plate and fight machida. Forget this frendship thing, you both made a decision to be fighters and fight the best. Or how about rampage or wanderlei or even lidell since styles make matches. Those guys are more your size and skill level, then we will truly see…until then, i will still see silva as a great fighter but not the nearly the best. I still want to see him fight okami.

Silva has lost TWICE as many times as GSP, to TEN times as shitty of fighters. Silva WILL be beat and Cote will likely be the one to do it. Why don’t Silva fans listen to what he says? He wanted to fight Cote for a while and he thinks he will give him a good fight.

yea Dan Henderson as a chin of solid steel and never been KO’d and Silva clearly rocked him. Cote will take the best shots of his life in this fight and I just dont see him NOT getting rocked. I will say, if there was ever a time to fight the Spider…the time is now….hes been talkin about retiring soon and all this other stuff, probably doesnt think anyone can touch him…it should be interesting either way the fight goes, I’m looking forward to it

I like Cote’s attitude and I can see him getting out of the first round, but I still see Silva tko-ing him at some point in this fight. My prediction, Silva by tko in the 2nd round. The guy is just to big and long for most fighters at 185, to technical and accurate, just to good! I do hope that Cote can atleast take it to the Spider a little bit. I’d like to see Silva atleast get hit a couple times!

by brac on Oct 7, 2008 9:38 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

In the UFC, all of Anderson’s fights that have went to the 2nd round have been submission, with the exception of Franklin. So if it does go into the 2nd, look for a sub? I won’t, cuz Cote will KO him in the 2nd.

Sinsiter: What are you smoking??? That is some strong shit. Yo.. All of Anderson’s fights in the UFC ..ended in the 1st round ..except for Rich part2 and the legend Dan Henderson. Rich got Ko’d.. Dan..tapped out.

You really…really think.. that Cote.. Patrick Cote.. will Ko ..the Great Anderson Silva..

What the $^*490(^&^&(_)(*!!!

Na man.. Either your a delusional Canadian.. or your so Freaking HI out your mind.. you really don’t no what your saying.

by PhilQNY on Oct 7, 2008 11:05 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Phil, Not smoking anything man. I wasn’t saying all of Anderson’s fights ended in the 2nd. I was saying that 2 of Anderson’s 3 fights in the UFC that did go to the 2nd round ended in submission.
Those 3 fights were:
Lutter__ended in submission in the 2nd round
Franklin__ended in ko in 2nd
Henderson__ended in submission in the 2nd

But as for Cote, I don’t know. Not Canadien (Born FL, raised SC, live in Daytona), and not high. Just a prediction man. lol.

by PhilQNY on Oct 7, 2008 11:48 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Phil did you ever think Rashad “decision” Evans would KO cold Chuck Liddell??? I didnt :( Its not likely that Cote will win, but in MMA theres always the “shock” factor that comes up sometimes. I guess we’ll find out when these 2 finally face off. I’m prediciting the fight to end in the first round…I’m 70% Silva 30% Cote right now.

i would put money on cote’s head coming off his shoulders it should be good tv lol

by bigsmoke on Oct 7, 2008 11:19 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

he fought in pride for over a year and never even came close to a title shot. he will never hold the light heavy weight belt b/c he knows he has a way better advantage at 185

I am a hugh Anderson fan….but I got this feeling (and I know what everyone is going to say) Cote will win this one…sometime in the 3rd, and yes Phil I too am a delusional Canadian…lol

by jet99 on Oct 7, 2008 12:31 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

anderson IS human and if serra could beat gsp they why couldn’t cote beat the spider?, if the spider has an off night and cote lands a spot on punch we could see an upset but I really doubt it,on paper anyways. And remember styes make fights, franklin is a bad match up for anderson for some reason, chonan was holding his own with the spider not that long ago, I hope cote wins but would be shocked if he did.

by nathan on Oct 7, 2008 1:42 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

The thing is that Cote is a striker and Anderson Silva is the best allround striker in the UFC without a doubt so that’s why Cote won’t beat him.. I think Sila is going to knock him down and punish him until he gives up his back and then he will submit him with a RnC

by RoB on Oct 7, 2008 5:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I want to see someone beat Anderson at some point, so why not now?

Serra-GSP, Evans-Liddell, Petruzelli-Slice (ok, maybe not that one, but you get the point)…anything can, and often does, happen in MMA.

Cote via one punch KO in the 2nd. Who’s with me???

I am.

I want Cote to pull the upset. Anderson’s an amazing fighter but I’d love to see the middleweight god knocked out. Well maybe that wont’t happen but I’m canadian so kinda stuck on hoping Patrick wins.

by Jared on Oct 7, 2008 8:36 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I know one thing for sure. Silva will know he’s been in a fight for a change, win or lose. All you guys who think Silva will walk right through Cote are in for a RUDE AWAKENING. Silva doesn’t look that hot until he gets his opponent rocked and then he goes in for the kill. First he has to rock Cote (something that has never happened before), while not getting rocked himself. When Cote rocks his opponents they are pretty much FINISHED also.

by Gord on Oct 8, 2008 12:38 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Silva will walk through Cote, this is a mismatch!! The only way overmatched fighters have a chance in these type of fights is by capatilizing on a mistake or a slip up by their opponents. Does anyone think that Silva will go in there underprepared or with a weak game plan, etc??? This is like the Superbowl champions NY Giants playing against the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger Cats. Cote’s going to show up, but he’s not going to come close to winning. Get ready to watch Cote get dismanted like Lebben did.

by MXN on Oct 8, 2008 7:40 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Not even close, Lebben is a punching bag and just lets guys hit him. Cote protects himself VERY well and the punches that get through don’t even faze him. Silva is one of the best, however Cote is a bad matchup for him and could very well win. At the very least he will make it a fight.

by Gord on Oct 8, 2008 9:43 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I’ve seen all of Cote’s UFC fights, he hasn’t fought anyone that comes close to Silva’s ability. I think his best fight skill wise was his last against Almedia, he showed great ability defending BJJ. I don’t see the arguement that Cote is a bad matchup for him because he hasn’t been rocked before. Nobody has been successful standing toe to toe with Silva in the last 10 fights, he’s only going to be beat by a guy with a well rounded game, not a guy like Cote.

by MXN on Oct 8, 2008 10:21 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

This fight is shameful. What is the UFC thinking> I just hope Cote doesn’t get killed.

by mikehunt on Oct 8, 2008 11:31 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

of course it could happen..but the only way Cote would beat Anderson would be, as he said himself by connecting a lucky punch and rocking him..The problem with that is that he would have to defend the title and without a second lucky punch (aint gonna happen) the spider will just eat him alive…can not compare.. Hes just in another level overall..
