Naaahhhh, Vera will soften Queen of Mean with leg kicks in the 1st and then get the dude on the ground and sub him in the 2nd…only if Vera cuts better this fight.

Yeesh tough to pick. Both fighters have alot riding on this and alot to prove. I dont think this fight will be going 3 rounds. Im picking Vera by KO 2nd round.

I’ve yet to see Vera respond to a gritty fight, he said it right, ‘nervous to get hit’.. I don’t know if it’s something he’s overcome in practice…

Jardine has come off a big KTFO loss to Wanderlei… that’s also something difficult to overcome…

I’m guessing Jardine, he’s just the tougher dude.

Sorry who has Vera beat?(other than an injured ring rusted Mir)…. Jardine is going to lay waste to this post pubesent punk. Jardine by highlight reel tko.

I wonder what excuse Brandon “The Excuse” Vera will come up with for losing this time?

by Bojangles on Oct 6, 2008 8:45 PM EDT up reply actions

What’s up with all the excuse crap? He lost ONLY TWICE. That means the most excuses he could have is TWO. Broken hand and PROVEN incompetent ref. Those sound like reasons to me. An excuse is something Jardine would say everytime he gets KTFO.

i had no complaints with that stoppage

by blakemore on Oct 7, 2008 7:33 AM EDT up reply actions

Maybe you didn’t, but most people don’t want a fight stopped prematurely when they PAID to see a fight. You must have missed that fact that Vera didn’t have a scratch on him and bounce right up after the the moron ref stopped the fight. Brandon was repeatedly telling the ref he was OK. Maybe you haven’t noticed, but when MOST fights are stopped by the ref, the guy is still lying on the mat and he gets up slowly and doesn’t have a CLUE what the hell happened. Even if I didn’t like Vera, that stoppage was BULLSHIT. Werdum didn’t want any part of Vera in a rematch, because he knows he gave him everything he had and he didn’t hurt him one bit. The refs job is to protect the fighters and they have to be smart enough to know which fighters know how to protect themselves. Vera has NEVER been in any trouble in any of his fights, because he knows how to defend. You must think a fight should be stopped as soon as one guy gets the upper hand. Fights go back and forth and it aint over untill it over. Vera wasn’t any where NEAR being over.

i don’t think jardine will be able to finish vera. I got Jardine by an action packed, close unanimous decision.

LOL bojangles

I prefer to call him “can’t handle the truth” vera, but obviously we both see him for what he is.

Brandon: -I didn’t think he hit that hard
         -I let down my guard
-He got in a lucky shot
         -I forgot my steriods
-I was feeling heavy, bloated, my always were not working

         -UFC doesn’t really want me

Brandon Vera by 1st round nightclub beatdown inside the clinch.. Jardine can’t handle the clinch he gets scared and doesn’t know what to do..

by RoB on Oct 6, 2008 9:30 PM EDT reply actions

I hope Jardine beats off his wispy mustache.

Brandon Vera is going dowm in this fight.

by belfort_fan on Oct 6, 2008 10:27 PM EDT reply actions

Only if he decides to take Jardine down.

by Gord on Oct 7, 2008 11:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Jardine is not going to want to get stuck in Vera’s clinch. I’ll tell you that much.

He’ll try to take it to a decision with his kicks.

But, Vera’s just too good. I see tko in Jardine’s future.

VERA ALL THE WAY!! i got money on my boy brandon.

by titoortizfan on Oct 7, 2008 7:28 AM EDT reply actions

Really tough to call… the’re both very similar in size… I’d go with Vera cos I think the Stand up is equal but Vera has slightly better subs!
Jardine would be better off leaving the UFC and fighting for Elite XC or affliction (maybe as a HW) The UFC are paying him so badly!

He said brandon is not phippino only half

by sisi on Oct 7, 2008 4:53 PM EDT reply actions

Believe me when I say this. This won’t be a close fight. Vera finally realized what was holding him back. He was to focused on not getting hit. His best defence is his offence. His opponent will be to busy trying to survive let alone strike back. It’s going to be a one sided BEATDOWN with Vera getting his hand raised at the end. Mark my words.
