ZST 'SWAT! 21' recap and quick results

On the heels of Shooto's "Shooting Disco 6" there was another round of Japanese mixed martial arts this weekend when ZST held their "SWAT! 21" event at the Omori Golds Gym in Tokyo, Japan.
The event saw five of the nine fights ending by way of submission, as well as one brutal knockout, one no contest and two inevitable draws.
Because ZST bouts are not judged, any fight that goes the distance is automatically ruled a draw.
Shunichi Shimizu was probably the most impressive fighter of the evening, armbarring Tetsuya Nishi early in the second round and winning his sixth win in a row.
Keep an eye on the surging Shimizu.
Tokuaki Ninomiya pulled a Sagat with a vicious tiger knee to the face of Hiroyuki Naito at 3:57 in the first round. Brutal to say the least.
The ghost of Cro Cop was in the house as Shingo Matsuda versus Takaichi Hirayama ended early after Matsuda was blasted with an accidental low blow only 59 seconds into the first round. He could not continue and the bout was ruled a no contest.
Ichiro Kojima beat Kendo Koda late into the first round via rear naked choke. He sunk it in with just eleven seconds left in the round and Koda was forced to tap. Kojima needed this win after a frustrating draw in his last bout at SWAT! 'In FACE Volume 1' against Ryo Nakajima two months ago.
Another impressive submission came from Shinya Kurosawa who locked in a triangle choke on Kota Higashitani in the first round. This was Kurosawa's second submission win in as many chances. He made his debut last June at ZST SWAT! 18 where he also impressively finished Keizo Hisamanto in the first round via rear naked choke.
Here are the ZST SWAT! 21 complete results:

It’s great to see that news on the smaller Japanese promotions are getting some attention here. It would be nice to see coverage of DEEP and Shooto here too.
