You may have to hit the play button on the video player when the new screen opens.

All it does, is take me to a blank page. It also opens up my WinAmp, but reads “End of Playback.” Pressing “PLAY” doesn’t produce anything, as there’s NO FILE to play…

In case you aren’t familiar with me, I really dislike Forrest Griffin! He has been very respectful so I have been trying to figure out why I do not like him. I used to love watching the warrior that he used to be. For example, I have so much damn respect for his WARS with Bonnar but since being KO’ed by Jardine, Forrest has switched to a much more boring style. Although his new style is far less exciting then his old style….I cant blame him to much for the switch in styles because it was the smart thing to do if he ever wanted to rack up wins against top notch competition….and HE HAS! I still dont know how to define his new fighting style. He used to be a brawler, but what is he now? I have no idea. My guess is that he will focus more on kicks and sticking n moving (a poor mans Machida’s style). I also believe that he will have to incorporate grappling much more in his fights, especially 5 rounders.
I guess I hate on Forrest because I do not feel that he is that good. I can still list about 10 LHW’s that I think are better than him, and I am starting to feel like his success is just a product of Couture, the master gameplanners strategies!

In Conclusion, he is the UFC LHW champion and I have to respect him for that, but I do not think that he will hold on to the title for much longer. I feel that the UFC is still coddling him by giving him Rashad in his 1st title defense. no Offense to Rashad, who is really coming into his own and who I believe has a great chance to take Griffin’s title, but fighting Rashad is not as scary as fighting the axe Murderer, Machida or THiago!

I just pray that Rashad vs. Forrest turns out to be an entertaining fight. Right now, I still have my reservations.

As a fan, I will feel really jipped if I dont eventually get to see rematches between Forrest vs. Shogun (on 2 legs) and Rampage!

Question: what do u guys think was the worst performance by a contender in which he won the UFC heavyweight title?
Forrest decision is up there for sure. Which performances did you guys find to be shaddy?

how about when Belfort won the LHW title from Randy via doctor stoppage due to a cut in the eye and then Belfort acted like he really “beat” Randy and started celebrating….

john I understand your probelm with Forrest being LHW champ…I really do, but most would say Chuck Liddell is scary, and thats who the UFC threw Evans to…and on purpose….and look what happned, Evans knocked Liddell out worse than anyone ever has. I know Forrest didint KO Rampage, but he fought a great fight and it was left to the judges to decide. I for one think Forrest will beat Evans. I do not think Evans “run and counter with a bomb overhand right” strategy is going to work on Forrest…nor do I think his wrestling will work either. Forrest might get taken down, but Rashad is a short stocky dude and Forrest is a tall (taller than Lideell) and lanky dude with good grappling and BJJ. I’m calling Forrest to win by decision or sub.

JOHN. do you think machida’s style is boring as well? so you think forrest is not that good, that there are 10 lhws that are better, the ufc is coddling him and he had the worst performance as a contender winning the title and you call that respect? i call that obsession. get over it! you want to be right about this so bad that you try and get other bloggers to side with you by posting this smear crap. very lame.

Chad, Vitor was very unhappy with the way he beat Randy(the only way he can). But vitor is a very spiritual person and he is a firm beleiver that everything happens for a reason because gad made it that way. he felt god wanted him to win that way thats why he celebrated, and he was very unhappy with the way that fight turned out and gave him an instant rematch, like a true champion.

it was a while ago and I didnt remember the entire event, but I’m glad to here he was unhappy about it. I’m jsut glad justice was served when Randy pounded on him and cut him up in the rematch

The LH division is stacked enough where it is unlikely Griffin or anyone else will have a long reign as champ. While it is fair critique of Griffin to point out his lack of one punch knockout power, it neglects to tell the whole story. Griffin’s standup, while lacking whallop, is technically sound and effective. He’s a big LH, and he enters fights in top condition and has a solid chin. He scrambles well and has a better than average jits game. He has the belt because his strengths far out-number his weaknesses. Whether Griffin is champ for long time or not, he is at the top of the food chain along with 5-6 others, all capable of beating each other in any given fight.

Yeah me too. And Vitor was one hell of a man for giving the rematch two events later!!! And Vitor showed so much heart in that fight. if you say he didnt theres something wrong with you. Vitor never gave up. the ref had to stop the fight due to cut. it was kinda like Tanner Franklin 2. you cant take anythink away from Vitor!!!

CL. i think forrest not having one punch ko ability is a blessing in disguise. it makes him work that much harder at being an all-around fighter and not relying on a one-dimensional fight-plan ala chuck and most recently rampage. plus those leg-kicks can be as devastating as any punch. as far as him holding the belt for long, you make a good point. it will be hard for anyone to be champ for a long time with all the great fighters at that weight. but it aint going to be easy for someone to take it from forrest ever.

Try a different Internet browser like Firefox. Maybe it’s Internet Explorer that has the issue. I don’t have that so I don’t know. Works fine for me.
