it kinda gives the feeling that randy is going to get killed by brock. with the music and black and white and all..

Who do you think Fedor would beat faster randy or Brock?
by lee maury on Sep 25, 2008 10:01 AM EDT up reply actions
I’d think Fedor would beat Randy faster just because of the age. However, if you asked dana he would say that both randy and brock would destroy Fedor HAHAHA!
by armbar on Sep 25, 2008 10:04 AM EDT up reply actions
I’d bet that fedor would beat brock by armbar and randy by tko. Which one first, I’m not sure.
by fred on Sep 25, 2008 10:38 AM EDT up reply actions
Fedor would beat brock faster. He doesn’t have as much experience.
by jr on Sep 25, 2008 11:10 AM EDT up reply actions
What makes you so sure that Fedor would beat Randy?
by belfort_fan on Sep 25, 2008 2:15 PM EDT up reply actions
I think fedor would beat randy because he’s younger, faster, has better striking and submissions. Also if fedor fought randy it would be one of the few times that fedor fights someone his size. The only real edge couture would have would be his wrestling.

You do have a point, but You know Randy can suprise anyone. Fedor is as amazing as everyone says he is. Im not taking anything away from Fedor, Im a HUGE fan. And im not saying he wouldnt beat Randy, cause theres a very good chance he would(that goes for both fighters). I think Randy and Fedor would Equal eachother out on the feet. Fedor has the faster more explosive hands, but Randy has better more technical boxing even better kick boxing. He has great head movement and perfect timing with his punches(as does Fedor). I think Fedor might catch Randy in a submission. You guys shouldnt act like Randy would get ran right through, cause we all know that wont happen to Randy.
by belfort_fan on Sep 25, 2008 4:06 PM EDT up reply actions
Though I have no idea who will win the Brock vs Randy fight I think Fedor would definatley beat Brock faster. Brock would take Fedor down an would get arm bared immediatley.
by DB on Sep 25, 2008 6:23 PM EDT up reply actions
Agreed, I think Randy has way better sub defense than Brock. Although i hate to admitt Fedor would probebly beat them both, He would do so faster and easier against Brock.
by belfort_fan on Sep 25, 2008 6:29 PM EDT up reply actions
belfort fan I do agree with the fact that randy can suprise anyone and that’s why I think that randy would last longer against fedor than brock.
by lee maury on Sep 25, 2008 11:16 PM EDT up reply actions
Brock, he would sub him VERY quick. He might not even beat Randy, that’s right, he might not beat him. Lindland looked pretty good for the first couple minutes. Lindland wasn’t strong enough to deal with Fedor and he ended up on the bottom when Fedor grabbed the ring. Look what happened to GG when he tried to grab the cage. Randy ripped his hand right off the cage and tured him upside down on the spot, leaving him no opportunity to land on top. Lindland is not even in the same leage as Randy, so anyone who thinks Fedor is going to run right through Randy is dreaming. Randy will be Fedors TOUGHEST match and Fedor has plenty of decision wins against TOP HW’s. It’s far from a given that Fedor will beat The Natural let alone kill him.
by Gord on Sep 26, 2008 12:12 AM EDT up reply actions
Thats what im sayin, He just might not. I actually have 50 bucks on Randy if they ever fight. Randy poses the worst problems for Fedor than anyone else.
by belfort_fan on Sep 26, 2008 12:31 AM EDT up reply actions
And Mark Coleman would never take Randy into the second round.
by belfort_fan on Sep 26, 2008 12:34 AM EDT up reply actions
Just a sidenote Gord, but Randy was an Olympic alternate, while Lindland was an Olympic silver medalist. I don’t think it’s accurate to say he’s not in Randy’s league.
by chefdaddy on Sep 26, 2008 7:41 AM EDT up reply actions
Also, of Fedor’s wins, only 7 were by decision. The rest were 6 by KO, and 16 by submission.
by chefdaddy on Sep 26, 2008 9:03 AM EDT up reply actions
When it comes down to them fighting its not about whos beaten who.

Any word on who will be the co-main event? Maybe Thiago Silva will be ready for this card? I think this card can shatter all records in PPV. But they need a good rest of the card! And Lutter/Dork-whatever is not it.
by JV on Sep 25, 2008 9:40 AM EDT reply actions
Neither will Robinson/Bocek… They better get another huge match up if Dana wants to make this card the biggest ever. I have been racking my brain and can’t really think of a bigger name match up than Rampage/Wandi. Thiago doesn’t have that big of a name. Franklin is availabe, but I don’t know if he will help that much. I just hope the UFC pulls something out of their a$$ because they sure as hell did with Couture/Lesnar.
by BNF on Sep 25, 2008 10:02 AM EDT up reply actions
I think the UFC is thinking ahead and probably gona make Wandy/Rampage a main event? But I hope not!
by JV on Sep 25, 2008 10:19 AM EDT up reply actions
if thiago was ready, he should fight machida. nothing would be as big as rampage/wandi as a co-headliner at this present time. i dont know if this can be the biggest mma event of all time without them, but it will still be huge. spike is planning 3 one hour countdown shows for this fight ala hbo’s delahoya/maywether countdown.
by b.w. on Sep 25, 2008 10:59 AM EDT up reply actions
3hr! I always like to see their training! I agree it will still be huge. But maybe not as big as it could be without that big co-main event???
by JV on Sep 25, 2008 11:05 AM EDT up reply actions
b.w., that is a great idea. I love the countdown shows, I just wish they could get the same narrator as HBO or even the guy who does The Deadliest Catch, I love that show.
by BNF on Sep 25, 2008 11:09 AM EDT up reply actions
The narrator for Deadliest Catch is the guy who stars in Dirty Jobs. That cat does some awful stuff for a living, not quite the spoiled t.v. star stuff!

i think that would be a fun job, as long as i didnt have to do it every day. lol! i had a job when i was 17 at a cargill turkey plant. i worked on the line where you take the live turkeys of the truck and hang them on hooks to be electricuted. these turkeys could weigh up to 75 lbs and if you didnt use the right technique, they would beat the $shit out of you with their wings and splatter turkey poop all over you. there wasnt any opening on my face where i did not get turkey crap stuck in. eye, ears nose, and yes even my mouth. my older cousin worked there with me and he had braces! one day a big chunk of crap get stuck in his braces and he couldnt get it out and started gagging and ran to the gatorade jug, desperately trying to rinse it out. it was hilarous! if there were cam-corders around back then, i could easily win americas home videos, it was that funny. im done rambling now, but im sure alot of you have some horror stories about previuos “worst job ever”.
by b.w. on Sep 25, 2008 4:20 PM EDT up reply actions
b.w., I’ve definitely had some sh!t jobs, but nothing compared to that! lol
by chefdaddy on Sep 26, 2008 7:42 AM EDT up reply actions
If the co-main event stands as Kenny vs Joe(although a good fight) it will be a big disappointment. So many people will be watching, why not put in 2-3 other quality main even fights?
by Robert on Sep 25, 2008 9:57 AM EDT reply actions
Any word on how ticket sales are for this event? I have heard that it isnt even close to being sold out yet…
by stevo on Sep 25, 2008 10:01 AM EDT reply actions
I don’t Randy ahving a chance in this one! Lesnas is what a heavyweight champ should look like! also Lesnar wil show no respect to Randy! he will come out like he did against the crazy horse and i don’t see how Randy will take one of those punches. It will be something special if Randy beats him.
by Tony on Sep 25, 2008 10:03 AM EDT reply actions
Randy has a great chance of winning. We have not seen Brock’s chin tested, and Brock looked gassed in that Herring fight. This fight is 5 rouns long. Now, I am still picking Lesnar to win, but that could change. Never count out Randy.. NEVER.
by "Mr. NC-17" on Sep 25, 2008 10:20 AM EDT reply actions
Never is right! But I didnt really see Brock gassed?

Lesnar’s freakish physical abilities extend to his cardio as well as his gorilla strength and lightweight speed. He won’t get tired.
by PW on Sep 25, 2008 2:32 PM EDT up reply actions
Randys two strongest attributes in this fight will be his clinch work and his experience in making gameplans to fight bigger heavyweights.
I’d like to see Randy work from side control if he can get Lesnar down and go for a kimura or an armbar.
Randy was able to outwork Gonzaga with dirty boxing and being strong in the clinch and Gonzaga was at 252 pounds.
Brock weighing at 265, probably 275 or so in the time of the fight could pose new challenges to him.
But I think Randy will shock us all again, I know I definitely won’t be against him.

ill be pissed if rampage/silva is not on the card

as much trash as Rampage talks, he is afrain of Wanderlei and does not REALLY want to fight him. Wanderlei will abuse and embarass Rampage when they fight…people thought Chuck vs Wanderlei was the fight to watch and it was great dont get me wrong, but Wanderlei vs Rampage is a whole different story, they both HATE each other similar to Chuck and Tito…wait scratch that, more like Ken & Tito
by Chadx23 on Sep 25, 2008 2:19 PM EDT up reply actions
You act like these guys are gonna fight in an ally. their professionals, they arent scared of eachother smart one. Wanderlei will be the one with Pressure. He has already beaten Rampage twice. The only pressure for Rampage is that he was the champ. Wanderlei has to go in there know that everyone expects him to win. Thats pressure.

If it was anyone other than Randy, I’d expect Brock to destroy him. On paper, I can’t see how Randy’s going to pull it off:
He controlled but could not finished Tim Sylvia. Brock is too strong to let Randy stay on top of him like that.
I don’t see him outstriking Brock
I don’t know if Randy’s got the submission skill to tap him, and you have to know that Brock is studying defending subs as well.
Brock is faster, stronger, younger.
But I thought all of this against Randy before…Randy will probably shock me agian.
by kmac on Sep 25, 2008 10:55 AM EDT reply actions
Randy is a dog man he wont go down easy unless he gets KO’d like against Liddell…..Only way Brock will win is by KO/TKO…I dont see him winning a decision against Randy, he will be forced to finish Randy because Randy wont lie down all night like Herring. But, the only way I see Randy finishing this is by decision. I dont think Randy has ever KO’d someone and I cant picture him TKOing Brock…I just dont know. My gut says Randy, but my mind says Brock.
by Chadx23 on Sep 25, 2008 2:22 PM EDT up reply actions
I understand that for some reason people see Randy as a god, but the reality of the situation must come to light. Randy is not deserving of the hype he gets and from what he has shown in the last year and a half he is actually buying into. Randy has a strong wrestling base that he normally depends upon to win fights. That is gone. Lesnar is an extremely good wrestler with 60 pounds of cage weight on randy not to mention an incredible base once on the ground. Randy is normally the faster opponent as he is smaller than most of the heavyweights he fights. Randy is now 45 and Lesnar is extremely quick for a heavyweight if not the quickest. Randy noramlly depends upon going the distance to win fights waiting for the other guy to gas. Again Randy is 45 and Lesnar’s conditioning is said to be sick, not to mention he can control the pace of the fight on the ground.
These factors do not bode well for the aged, and over rated couture. Besides Gonzaga who I thought looked intimidated in his fight with randy, who has he beaten in the heavyweight division. Timmy is very very slow, and is not in the same wrestling class as randy. Gonzaga simply choked. Then there is the over a year off with randy thinking he was meant to be a hollywood star. If anyone thinks he spent this time in the gym training and getting better at his game they are wrong. He just spent it getting older, slower, and more likely to gas in a long fight.
If lesnar keeps his head and goes with the same gameplan he did agianst herring he will dominate his much smaller opponent. People it is 60 pounds and randy’s game is wrestling, putting guys against the cage and dirty boxing them. These tactics will not work. He needs to run and punch and throw leg kicks as much as possible trying to avoid the freight train of a shoot lesnar has. I for one do not think it is going to happen. Randy will stick in there for a little bit but I can see the old man gassing from trying to get the huge lesnar off him and then he will be pounded out.

I hope the UFC doesn’t forget that UFC 90 is before 91.
by A Lynch on Sep 25, 2008 11:24 AM EDT reply actions
ive seen a few ads for 90 on spike and espn, but its a free show, so the ufc wont be pushing it nearly as hard as 89 or 91.
