UFC Fight Night 15 came out swinging Wednesday night and garnered the #1 spot among men 18-34, 18-49, 18-24, and 25-34. The Spike telecast drew 913,000 men 18-49 and 465,000 men 18-34 for a combined draw of 1,378,000.
The event from the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Nebraska averaged an audience of 1.8 million viewers with a peak of 2.3 million during Nate Diaz's battle with Josh Neer in the main event.
While Fight Night 15 had a lower peak than July's Fight Night 14, which peaked with 4.46 million viewers, it should be noted that FN14 was held on a Saturday night and had the luxury of Anderson Silva in the main event.
Still, those numbers were enough to sack the gang at ESPN who went deep with College Football's Louisville vs. Kansas State game and also struck out the boys at ESPN2 who tried to hit a home run with Baseball's American League pennant race.
Even combining the two could not submit the UFC and Spike as the all-sports network needed two events to draw 858,000 men 18-49 and 373,000 men 18-34 for a combined draw of 1,231,000.
In addition, the premiere of The Ultimate Fighter 8 ranked #1 with men 18-49 in its time slot with an average audience of 1.6 million viewers.
Not too shabby.
