UFC Fight Night 15 bonuses and awards for 'Diaz vs Neer' in Omaha

UFC Fight Night 15: "Diaz vs. Neer" at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Neb., has wrapped, which means that it’s time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $30,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four out of the 20 fighters on the card. And it shouldn’t come as a shock whose wallets are leaving the "Cornhusker State" a little heavier.
In addition to their base salaries, the UFC awarded main eventers Nate Diaz and Josh Neer for their three-round back-and-forth 155-pound scrap. Diaz is accustomed to getting singled out; however, it’s usually because he pulled off an improbably submission win.
The Cesar Gracie-trained fighter didn’t finish "The Dentist," but it certainly wasn’t for a lack of effort.
Here are the special fight bonuses for "Diaz vs. Neer:"
Fight of the Night: Nate Diaz vs. Josh Neer
Submission of the Night: Wilson Gouveia.
Knockout of the Night: Alessio Sakara
Again, each fighter received $30,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along if possible.
It’s good to see Sakara earn some extra scratch -- the Italian bruiser has had his ups and downs inside the Octagon and perhaps he’s beginning to turn the corner.
Now it’s time for "Legionarius" to prove he really has a place in the 185-pound division and string together back-to-back wins inside the Octagon for the first time ever in nine fights.

Diaz vs. Neer was a great fight, but fight of the night may have been Belcher vs. Herman. As much as I don’t like either of those guys, it was a fantastic fight. Either one of them could have gotten that decision, whereas I don’t know how one judge had Neer winning.

Diaz vs Neer was definately FOTN. No way was Belcher vs Herman as entertaining although I did enjoy it. They both looked visibly tired neither of them really imposed thier game.

Has anybody recalled the Mac Danzig/Clay Guida fight? I would have bet money on that was the fight of the night. Clay Guida is something else. I think Mac Danzig is one of the most technical fighters out there, and Clay beat him with only his intense pace and great wrestling abilities.

Really wish I could have seen the undercard!

The undercard was actually really good. Not one of the fights went to a decision. Sakara had a HUGE head kick KO on Joe Vedepo! Vedepo put his arm up to block it and Sakara caught him right behind the ear. One of the best KO’s I’ve ever seen.
I was surprised to see the fighters out in the crowd after the fights to. Drew McFedries, Joe Lauzon and Jens Pulver were all mingling with the crowd taking pics. Supposedly Rampage was there but I never saw him.

I think Dana is using Page’s chain like a leash and he’s not going to let him out of his site.

Once again, I’m going to sound brainless, but when do they show the undercard or where did you catch it?

Sounds like he was there in person… If you want to watch the undercard sometimes you can pay to see them on UFC.com.

mixedmartialartvideos and mma-core (both end with .com) usually have the fights relatively quick

Wilson Gouveia is the man. I must be his #1 fan. He gets a bonus every time he fights. I was pissed they showed Belcher/Herman over his fight, but that ended up being the most entertaining fight of the night for me. Gouveia is so well rounded he can always find a way to win. I can’t wait to see his next fight and I strongly believe he will be a top contender at 185 with the next 1-2 years!

BNF, you are going to have to get behind me as Wilson’s biggest fan around these parts. Actually, I was more of a “this kid is for real” after I seen him fight a couple years ago as opposed to being a BIG fan of his. I was instantly all over this site tooting his horn, especially after his UFC debut! I root for him but if he was to ever fight Hendo or Leben I would be rooting against Wilson.

Apparently you don’t read too many of my post about Wilson. I have been a huge fan since the Jardine fight as well. And unlike you, I would be rooting for Wilson agaisn’t both those guys and I am a HUGE fan of Leban. So, I win, I am his #1 fan!

You win. He does not make my Top 5. Not even close!

Speaking of his first few UFC fights, after Jardine, his next few wins looked EFFORTLESS
