I am as big of a Nate diaz fan as there is, but let me tell you that Neer worries the crap out of me. The worst part about it is he doesn’t have a big name so beating him does little for the advancement of his place up the lightweight ladder of the UFC. Too much risk and not enough reward for Diaz. Hopefully he just Jits the crap out of Neer because I want to see Nate keep winning. You would think that after beating a very tough guy like Batman that he would be matched up against a bigger name, but whatever. Its should be a real War between to emotional hotheads that just love to fight.

hmm, but would you bet on Neer givin the lines (i think he’s +150)or on this fight at all? I’ve wanted to bet on this UFN but I don’t want to bet on this particular fight… I don’t think betting against Nate is a good bet, but I don’t think betting on him would pan out at -200, I’m torn!! = (
by O damn he got caught on Sep 15, 2008 4:32 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Let me answer that question for you.
Just throw him on the end of a cheap parlay. Just to have action on him. I will not root against him. He reminds me of a young mini Nogueira. He is TOUGH as nails and his jits will keep him in EVERY fight.
Then again, by the time fight time comes I will probably be so pumped that I will bet him straight as well. NOT A SMART BET if you ask me, but I am a big fan.
WAR NASTY NATE!!!!

My jury is still out on Nate. I like him and he’s shown serious heart in his wins, I’m still not convinced he’s a good as his hype. This is a great fight for him, because I view Neer as a tough journeyman. He is by no means a pushover. I believe for Nate to win he must finish him. I don’t see a decision here either way. he finishes him, they I will be completely on the bandwagon with all the bells and whitsles.

This should be a great fight. IMO, i’m more opt for the guy who doesn’t think he is God’s gift to mma (Diaz), even though I like to watch him fight.

I still think Diaz vs Lauzon or Diaz vs Danzig should be the headliner.

Me too, but the UFC will not pit two TUF winners against each other this early. Maybe in a year or two.

YO JOHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone, including myself, thought you were crazy when you picked Thiago Alves to beat Karo at UFN 13. I just want to know what your sleeper pick is for UFN 15. I need one more fight to bet on, so please help me out. Haha thanks.

don’t worry about the odds just take Creepy Joe and call it a night! He will not loose 2 in a row, not with Bradley in front of him. Creepy JOe will bring the aggression and will overwhelm this kid, which is probably the UFC’s plan anyway!

MONEY 3-team PARLAY! Will NOT LOOSE!!!!!
Ed Herman
Wilson Gouveia
creepy Joe Lauzon
by john on Sep 15, 2008 5:13 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Honestly that was what I was thinking. I’m kinda worried about Wilson Gouveia though. I know he’s the better fighter, but something tells me he might lose. I’ll go with that though.
by pUniSHment on Sep 15, 2008 5:18 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Don’t worry about Gouveia, he is a lock. He said he weighed 195 yesterday. It will be the best Gouveia we have seen. If anything I would worry about Herman losing by some sort of cut from a Belcher elbow, his Muy Thai is pretty sick when he is on.
by BNF on Sep 15, 2008 5:23 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah the cut to Kalib Starnes was pretty sick.
by pUniSHment on Sep 15, 2008 5:28 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Herman wont let Belcher get off. He knows he has know business trading with Belcher. I expect Herman to come out Pissed and Fired up after his last loss and Take Belcher down immediately and just POUND him OUT!
Only thing that worries me about Gouveai, is that fighters haven’t performed well recently when making their 1st weight cut into a lighter division for Example, Brandon Vera. However, BNF is saying that he is already down to 195 lbs so it shouldnt be a factor. THe only thing that can slow down wilson in this fight is the weight cut.
Lauzon is MONEY IN THE BANK!!!!!
by john on Sep 15, 2008 5:31 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
LOL.. But yeah I hope Belcher doesn’t catch Herman in a submission.
by pUniSHment on Sep 15, 2008 5:33 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
what submission game? He is HOuston Alexander-ish on the ground! Ed not as bad off a grappler as Maia made him look. Maia is world class, Belcher is like White Belt! No worries. Sit back, relax, and watch Ed POUND AWAY!!!

IIGHt BOYS! Time to start getting FIRED UP over the BIRDS game tonight!

Vera took that fight on fairly short notice and I don’t think he was fully committed to dropping down to 205 before that card was put together so quickly. I think that lead to a lackluster preformance, but he still won that fight!
Gouveia hasn’t fought since May and decided to drop down very shortly after that loss. He has been dieting for quite some time. I believe he cut the correct way and will look that much better now, like everyone was saying when Bisbing cut to 185.

Damn I can’t stand Tony Romo. I wish T.O. wasn’t a Cowboy, because now I can’t cheer for him. Romo has a “Patriots” type of Offensive line, meaning he’s never in trouble. I have to admit that Marion Barber is an animal, but Philly’s defense won’t let down.
by pUniSHment on Sep 15, 2008 5:52 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
As a HUGE Cowboy fan, how do you like TO but not Romo, unless it’s just jealousy at him tapping J-Simp? Most of us here have grown to accept TO, but we’re all holding our breath waiting for the other shoe to drop with him.
by PW on Sep 15, 2008 6:51 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Because T.O. is a bada$$ receiver. Wherever he goes, he makes the team playoff contenders. Where was Dallas before T.O.? Stuck in the shadow of Philly. Oh, and who was the #1 receiver for Philly? Terrell Owens. Tony Romo is decent, but who wouldn’t be with all the time he has in the pocket. Plus with T.O. on the team, it gives other WR’s much more of a chance to score because T.O. draws double coverage. Kyle Boller could come in and run that offense just as good as Tony Romo.

To is an EAGLE at heart! He cant stop talking about us!
Eagles are winning tonight because our defense is NASTY and we got the wizard of westbrook and DJ Kid, desean Jackson.
Samuels and Lito are going to alternate, putting the clamps on T.O. My only concern is Witten, who is a BEAST. Hope Gocong and Dawkins can successfully double team him

Thanks for the diet info on Gouveai BNF. I appreciate it! Now I will bet him for sure!
He owes me money anyway! At UFC 84 I picked everysingle fight correct except for his fight with Goran

To me Jim Johnson always has a good defense. Bill Bellicheck, Tony Dungy, and Jim Johnson always produce great defenses.

JIm JOhnson is one of my Favorite Eagles of all time. DEAD serious, so what does that tell you? I LOVE that mean old bastard!
Keep your eye on middle linebacker Stewart Bradley. The kid is a BABY BEAST in only his 2nd year in the league!

Yeah I seen a highlight when he sacked Bulger last week. But damn the NFC East is so strong.
by pUniSHment on Sep 15, 2008 7:21 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
No doubt TO is a great receiver. His career numbers put him ahead of everybody but Rice. He still talks about the Eagles, but he talks about Garcia and the 49ers too. And John, as much as I hate the Eagles, my all-time favorite Eagle was Chuck Bednarik. I only saw highlights and read stuff on him, but he was the last of the two-way players and one of the meanest bastards ever to play.

Nate Has already accomplished more in the UFC then Nick was able to. Nate seems like hes not as stubburn as his brother nick and is more willing to learn adapt and get better.
I rewatched Nick vs sanchez fight and I couldnt beleive there were three occasions where diego practically gave him a triangle and he didnt take it I dont get it.
When nate gets any opening he finishes I enjoy watching him fight if he can conyinue to add strength so that he is flexible and strong he will continue to be a force looking forward to this main event
by dia mette on Sep 15, 2008 5:17 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I kinda disagree. Nate does have an impressive winning streak, but the guys he beat aren’t really impressive, with the exception of Pellegrino. Nick’s losses were to guys like Sherk, a much bigger Joe Riggs, and Diego. All those fights were decisions too. He even knocked out Robbie Lawler. Nate is still young, and I know he will only get better.

I think they are both STUDS! Does that settle it? lol
by john on Sep 15, 2008 5:33 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah I agree they are both studs. I’m really intrigued at Nick’s boxing. His punches visually look weak, but they have been known to do damage and set up the ground game.
by pUniSHment on Sep 15, 2008 5:55 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, Nick’s boxing definitely looks weak, but it does land right on the button. And apparently, does heavy damage[check out Robby Lawler].

I think Nate’s body type is decieving. He looks skinny and weak, but when he fought Alvin Robinson he overpowered him even though Alvin looked to have the stronger physcial apperance. He so young that with time he will fill out and get stronger. Nate is already for real, just imagine in 5 years how good he will be!
by BNF on Sep 15, 2008 5:27 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
That is a problem I think for Nate at the same time.
When he does fill out, it will be very hard to cut to 155 with his size.
I think 2 years from now or less Nate will be at 170.

Interesting… I wonder what his current walking around weight is?

This will be the fight of the night, I’m rooting for Neer.
by JonnyBoy on Sep 15, 2008 5:50 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I’m not and for one reason only. I want Nate to fight tougher competition. Neer is dangerous and is to date Nate’s toughest fight. If Nate loses, the UFC will give him an easy fight next to get him on the winning track. There’s a lot of intersting match-ups out there for Nate, and the only way we will see it soon is if he gets the win on Wednesday.

I just watched Neers fight with Nick today. I hope Neer has learned some new tricks because Nick took him apart and Nate fights a lot like Nick.
