what’s the difference between pancrase and pankration? Or is it the same stuff?

pankration is the old greek style of fighting, pancrase is just basically the modern version with modified rules coming out of japan

Yeah me too and obviously Crocop vs Overeem will be very interesting. Hopefully we’ll see the old Crocop come back for this one.
I still have Overeem just edging ahead but Crocop on form is very intimidating but he really only has the left straight / left kick to finish the fight whereas Overeem has grown a lot in the last couple of years.
If he wins decisively I say they should throw him to the lions and feed him to Fedor as they didn’t fight in Pride.

winners of Cro Cop vs. Alistar will fight the winner of Mo/Sergie at a future event to crown DREAM 1st Heavyweight champion (my guess is New years eve).

I think Jacare is gonna take it… havent seen much of Zelg or Mousassi though so not too sure, but no way Manhoef would survive all the submission attempts that Mayhem Miller did

Dont sleep on Mousassi the guy is very well rounded and a threat to anyone. Even though he shouldn’t be looking past Manhoef as that dude is a scary striker I think if he gets it to the ground he should be cool.
Which leaves Jacare and him in the final as Im pretty sure he will take Galesic although Im not counting him out as everyone left in this tourney is dangerous and his striking is better than Jacare’s.
It should have been Manhoef vs Jacare as I would like to have seen how Jacare dealt with his power.
I think Im gonna put a little wager on Overeem & Mousassi as I would really like to see him take it and it seems everyone else is picking Jacare and I love it when I pick the underrated underdog and he comes through to take it.

Q: Do they allow strikes to the back of the head in DREAM? ’Cause it looks like Manhoef finished his first fight with a way to the back of the head of his grounded opponent.

I can not wait!
I love tournaments (all 4 fighters are good, so it makes it better) and Tokoro vs. Atsushi Y., Sergei vs. Mighty Moe, & Cro Cop vs. Overeem will be great fights! I also can not wait to see Sakurai, Minowa, and Akiyama on the undercard. It is going to be good stuff. Best event since UFC 84.

Awesome job. Nate didn’t pick any one between Mousasi and Manhoef, the first well-rounded and the second very impressive striker, but stated Ronaldo Jacaré skills and ability to domain the opponent on the floor. We’re looking forward this final matches on Sep 23rd.
