That was a pretty cool high light but I’m not THAT excited for the event..I probably will when it comes around. I always lose it when the gladiator thing gets shown and it starts coming on.

false advertising, anderson silva is NOT the best pound for pound fighter in the world… loved danas comment about p4p fighters and fedor “anderson silva is constantly testing himself against the best in the world” apparently chris leben, james irvin, and patrick cote are the best in the world LOL what a sham

If you just name the ‘ok’ guys he posted then ya.

You could turn that around and also name 3 scrubs Fedor fought and say the same thing.

by ShaiZ on Sep 8, 2008 11:56 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

only real contender hes beat is Dan Henderson. end of story, unless you want to include rich franklin in there, but hes never going to hold a belt and his time as a fighter is dwindling, hes never going to be able to keep up with the big boys at 205

by brendan on Sep 9, 2008 12:02 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If you wanted to name all the scrubs Fedor has fought, you could definately name more than 3. Fedor is great, no one can deny that, but he fought a lot of cans.

by naturalshadow on Sep 9, 2008 1:18 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Fedor is amazing, but Pride did him a dis-service by putting him up against so many cans. It’s not Fedor’s fault though, it’s not like he was ducking anyone.

IM Putting THE BANK on Alves!

Cote/Silva match up is kind of laughable!

by john on Sep 9, 2008 8:26 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I see Alves Killing Sanchez, Sanchez looked good against who? Fiorivante? . thats not impessive, Alves will prove who the better man is.

And I can’t see Silva lossing to Cote, but it would be nice to see a great upset, and all these betters loss money.

Agreed, Thiggy by KO. He will melt diego’s jaw.

if Evans can KO Chuck, then u got to think that Cote got at least as good of a chance.

by riskreturngroup on Sep 8, 2008 11:24 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Not a chance dude. I’m totally countin’ Cote out of this one. Though it’s always deadly to count someone out[especially in betting].

by TheNegation on Sep 8, 2008 11:34 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He has a point, I didn’t completely count out Evans, but I certainly didn’t give him much of a chance. If you would have told me he was gonna knock out Chuck, I would have laughed my ass off. I wonder if Evans just had a Serra/St. Pierre type of day, or if Chuck is really just done.

by naturalshadow on Sep 9, 2008 1:25 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The thing about the chuck vs evans fight is that evans wans’t playing into chuck’s game (ie. Try to take him down all day or stand with him). he was trying to duck all of chuck’s punches and waited until he got mad and careless, and then capitalized on it. Anderson Silva has a game that is totally different from chuck’s, he’s good at striking, countering and on the ground. It’s just a different animal to train for, although he can get mad inside the ring (we’ve seen this in the hendo fight), he doesn’t get careless like chuck and let his guard down.

by linx on Sep 9, 2008 7:03 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Nope, the thing is that Silva much like his mentor doesn’t have the “dreaded” button:)

by NameNotRequired on Sep 9, 2008 2:44 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

stupidest comment i heard. Rashad had way faster hands and reflexes than chuck, great footwork and head movement. Do you really think cote, has faster hands, better footwork, timing, reflexes, kicks, or anything better than anderson. Your comparision is stupid

by dt on Sep 9, 2008 10:26 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

yea i could see an upset, but highly unklikely. Anderson silva is all around dangerous for cote. Silvas reach alone is gonna be a huge facter. Not too mention his kicks and clinch. Cote has got a punchers chance. Anderson silva has tools of destruction.

Hello my fellow late night posters! This is not what I would call an exciting matchup overall, as I think Silva might actually kill Cote. But as we all know, anything can happen in this sport! Brendan, out of curiousity, who would you have ranked ahead of Silva in the p4p category? Me? I’ll still take Fedor and maybe Penn, GSP will be in the running sooner or later if he can defend his belt for a while (maybe).Unfortunately, Anderson has already put a beating on the best in his division, he is now in the process of cleaning it out completely. Soon, there won’t be anyone left for him to fight.

by chefdaddy on Sep 8, 2008 11:46 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Fedor for shizzle! then id say GSP, hes definitely beat tougher guys… Sherk, Penn, Hughes, Serra (all former/current title holders) Fitch, Trigg… id say thats a much tougher list than the 185 rejects that silva has beaten eh? Anderson Silva needs to move up to 205 and fight some of the real fighters in my opinion. Not that anyone cares about my opinion but I will never truly accept Silva as the greatest until he gets real competition… Irvin and Cote arent going to do it for me!

by brendan on Sep 8, 2008 11:54 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

THATS WHAT I WAS GONNA SAY SILVA HAS BEEN DOMINATED BEFOR..GSP HAS BUT AVENEGED BOTH OF HIS LOSES FEDOR IS STILL UNDEFETED NOT INCLUDING THE ELBOW FROM KOSAKA WHICH HE AVENGED IN BUSHIDO 6.AND GSP HAS FOUGHT TOP TEN FIGHTERS ALMOST ALL THE TIME AND HAS DOMINATED ALL HIS APONENTS..SILVA IS 3RD THEN BJ …..WHO ELSE IS FOR GSP ALVES DIEGO AFTER THAT HE HAS WIPED OUT ALMOST THE WHOLE DIVISION…EVEN ALL THE TOP FIGHTERS…
